I have thought about it and...well I haven't been bare-down-there since I was...13?

I am no longer 13 years old...and don't wanna pretend I am...nor does H2B (he is not into kids...thats his explanation NOT mine so don't get snippy girls who DO like Brazillians)

I know Justin would love it...any wax!
I'm not keen on the brazillian, but would consider a g-string bikini wax...but am afraid of the pain. Justin and I waxed my bikini line last week with strip wax and it was AGONY!!! Will use professionals next time!!
We did it!

Just a quick question to you "brazillian experts" when you get it done...do you sit there starkers from the waist down or do you keep your undies on and they just move them??

Obviously i've never had it waxed..i shave.

Kylee,

I just had my first Brazilian on Saturday. Before that I'd only ever shaved or trimmed! I've never really gotten the "landing strip" thing - for me, it's a "token gesture" biggrin.gif , so I was more "everything must go!" I do see the point with girls who say they don't want to look prepubescent, but I've never been a fan of hair down below, and I figured what the heck. I'm really happy with the outcome!

I thought it would be good to start doing these well before our wedding, just so that it's not one more weird different thing that I have to get used to in the crazy days before the wedding. Ditto gel nails!!

I was lucky to have an excellent beautician doing the job. The pain wasn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting. There are no weird positions involved, you just lie back and they do it. You just have to bend your knees.

I think the main thing to remember about having these things done is that the professionals are just that, professionals. They do these things all the time and they really *don't* have a problem with it. The only thing that makes it uneasy is if you yourself are uncomfortable about it.

Trust me, I used to work in lingerie and I was *the* most self-conscious person ever. But after a couple of weeks, it's totally passe, and by the end of 5 years' there I had no problem nipping out of fitting rooms to grab a different size when we would try stuff on after hours! laugh.gif

Chris, you can keep your own underwear on and move it for them, or you can wear a disposable g-string. They are very conscious of respecting your dignity. However, I said I would just take it all off if it made the job easier, which it does.

I figured they end up seeing everything piecewise anyway, so I just let them get on with it. I thought it was best to get the job done quickly and efficiently rather than messing around moving a g-string about.

Hope this helps!

Natalie xx

My boy loves it bare, and I thought I would try it just once....well he has created a monster! It doesn't hurt much anymore.

And trust me, the waxers are so used to waxing people they don't even worry about seeing your girly bits. A friend owns a beauty salon & she says that doing brazillians is like second nature to her now & says it is no different to her waxing someone's legs.

I think the biggest thing is to make sure you are comfortable with your waxer & have faith in them.

I usually wax it myself, but sahve the hard to reach areas (TMI!!), but it just feels better Iíve been doing it for years. You get over the itchiness, and the funny peeing (I have a beautician friend and this was a whole topic when she was learning) i.e. not peeing straight. I think I might actually have it done professionally for the wedding though, even though it wonít be a surprise, unless I actually keep some & get a shape
so rarely here...

Ok then girls (especially Natalie!) you've convinced me ..... it's all off for the wedding! I'll ring tomorrow to make a booking (shame Beauty Bug isn't available?). As I fly out for my wedding in less that two weeks I will have to get a wriggle on!

Thanks again for the info - certainly eased my anxiety.
Kylee
P.S. Natalie - I want gel nails as well - how did yours go?

Way to go Kylee!! I'm sure you won't regret it!

So long as you have it at least a couple of days before you leave, to let everything settle down, you'll be fine.

While it's all happening, just lie back and think of string bikinis with no more embarrassing escapees!!!

Gel nails - THESE ARE THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD. You know how you can go and have a really nice manicure (or do one yourself) and then 4 hours later you're home and you're washing dishes or doing up a zipper or using sticky tape, or, whatever, and scratch, scrape, ding, it's all over red rover. NOT WITH THESE BABIES!!! It is utterly amazing.

The afternoon after I had mine done I was in the garden, I was baking, I was washing up, and not a single ding/scratch/scrape did I get! Dem nails they are TNT proof!!

The best thing is that you can put nail varnish of another colour over them, and remove it, and you still have the gels!! You can have the gels in any colour, but I went for French on my hands and a cherry red on my toes.

Best of luck with it all and let us know how you get on. Brace yourself to view skin you haven't seen since you were 12 - it's quite bizarre at first!!

Love Natalie xx

I've always thought beauticians who perform the brazillian wax should be middle-aged, fat macedonian women, with hairy moles. A few black teeth wouldn't go astray either.

I think it would make ME more comfortable tongue.gif
They're always so unbelievably gorgeous, it just isn't right.

Midwives on the other hand, aren't generally drop dead gorg, and are so clinical about it you don't really think twice about what they're up to down there!

Gosh i was just thinking about this the other day! I definately wouldn't do the full brazilian but i am considering some waxing, sure!!! (i've never had pro waxing done, so i need to work up the courage to do it!)

I remember hearing a story a while back about Sandra Bullock (don't know if its true) but she decided to surprise her guy with her creative flair down there and bleached her hair and then died a pink/red love heart into it! Needless to say her guy was quite horrified at the outcome and it put him right off!! laugh.gif

I'd stick to waxing!

I'm getting it done but then I've been doing it for years so it's not a big thing for me, that being said I'm not sure 3 weeks before your wedding is the best time to experiment with a new hairstyle, the first time can be a little painful and you'll be sore for a few days. Ultimately it's your body and if you don't feel comfortable don't do it.
Married 8th October 2005! I will love you today, tomorow, always!
