Only problem with international destinations is how much taxes you need to pay. With fuel price rises being passed on, you're up for a good $150-200 pp on taxes.

Nat we went the beachcomber accomodation for $1187 fo the 7 nights.
This is info from another post I did.

This includes accomodation, return launch transfer on high speed catamaran, hot buffet breakfast each morning, wild dolphin hand feeding programme, free use of archery range, tennis court & squash courts, daily guided educational walks and presentations. It has a little kitchenette in your unit on the beachfront with outside seating on balcony. A separate bathroom as well. Direct dial telephone (to ring ur little boy - btw our son will be 2 and staying with nanna!) You also have a colour tv and are within 50 metres to the beach. Activities on the resort also include ATV quad bikes, Parasailing, Helicopter flights, Bush walking (3/4 of the island is national park), sand tobogganing, and four wheel drive tours. There is a buffet restuarant, or more casual beach cafe, or u can purchase self catering items from the resort shop. You can hire dighies, catamarans, windsurfers and snorkel gear, fishing gear and surf skis. Every evening there is a different type of entertainment (eg trivia night, karaoke). One of the day tours is to another island called "honeymoon island". If you want anymore info pm me!

Feel free to PM me - I have found them VERY helpful whenever I have called or emailed them.
BTW u can access some prices from the website.

I was going to suggest NZ too!

My BM just got back from NZ and it cost her and her husband $400 to take the ferry from the South Island to the North - they had a 6 birth camper, but I think this is still expensive.

Especiallly if you have a tight budget.

Hi Nat,

We are going to Fiji for our honeymoon.. there are sooooo many activities to do in Fiji, and its cheap as chips too... (depending on how well you bargain).

Check out this website for some of the activities you can do there.. there is 3 pages..

I chose a few of them and have made a honeymoon registry webpage with them, for my guests to put money towards... The link is in my sig if you wanna check it out..

All up, without flights, our accomodation is costing us $1700 for both of us for 8 days.. Also you need to keep in mind that there are not flights back to Australia 7 days a week there, thats why we are staying 8 nights...

Can somebody also PM me the address for this site you are all talking about, that you got the quotes off please?

Hi there

I have been to heaps of whitsunday islands and they can be expensive when you get there but Long Island has been advertising 7 nights for $999 all meals and airfares included - saw in the back of a bridal magazine.

How about renting an awesome house or apartment at Byron Bay - I love the vibe of the place or Cairns is also awesome and fantastically cheap - a lot cheaper than Port Douglas though the R@disson does do some really cheap deals.

You could also try Bali - I found it even cheaper then Fiji. Alternatively what about W.A and Ningaloo reef - there are cheap flights going at the moment.

Good luck

Hey Girls!

Seeing as we all have been hitting the website that I gave you all, the people that actually run it contacted me!

They have decided that they are going to make a HONEYMOON section for us. I dont know when they will have it ready but hopefully soon!

How good is that!

Debb.

My mum & Dad went to NZ (south island) for their anniversary last year, and spent about $2000 all up, inc. Air fares & car hire. They were there for 10 days. You don't have to do everything expensive.. they went on alot of great walks and really enjoyed themselves! Esp. cos my mum hadn't seen snow before

Although, if you want beaches and sun, I don't know how you will go in NZ???

H2B and I are going to NZ for our honeymoon biggrin.gif
