Well actually, we can't really even afford that but have decided that we really wanna go somewhere after the wedding. Originally we were going to wait till later in the year and go to Europe, but now of course we want to do both ... we're scared that we might regret not going anywhere straight after the wedding.

It doesn't matter if it's only for 4-5 days, just as long as we get away. Friends of ours just got back from Fiji, had a 7 day package for $999pp ... anyone know of any amazing deals like that one available atm?

It doesn't matter where it is, whether it's the South Pacific or perhaps even far North Queensland ... we just need some suggestions and specials !!!

Thanks my gals smile.gif

I have the same issue!!

I will PM you a website that is FANTASTIC!! biggrin.gif

What they do it find out where you want to go and work within your budget. They send out your details to a few travel agents and then you get to decide which one suits you the most and go with them.

Its a great service and you dont have to go and visit ALL the travel agents looking for a great deal, they come to you!!!! smile.gif

If it were me, you don't want to be so close to your budget .. What does the $999 include? Meals and activities can be expensive extras, you want to splurge and have a nice meal at least once or twice during the honeymoon .. and not remember it as skimping the whole time and having eaten crappy food. (IMO anyway, but then I'm a big foodie).

Do you definitely want to do something beachy? Otherwise, Tassie is very nice in February - Wineglass Bay might even be warm enough to swim in. Plus you can combine it with other things Tassie is famous for, like food and some spectacular scenery?

I went to Tassie about 3 years ago with my parents. It was simply breathtaking, I especially remember Cradle Mountain. But of course, we both want beach and sun, and we won't find that there smile.gif

Have you checked out Bali? They seem to have some reasonable deals there.

Not sure about prices departing from the eastern states, but we were recently quoted $1080pp for 10 days in Borneo (Kuching), including 4 star accomm, breakfast daily, taxes and transfers. Maybe look into Malaysia a bit.

what about driving somewhere down the great ocean road for a couple of days? or maybe along Ninety Mile Beach along the coast? In Feb, it'll probably be warm enough for swimming and lots of sun. There are some fantastic bed and breakfasts along the way.

We have been thinking about that, but we've already spent a couple of anniversaries along the Great Ocean Road and my aunty and uncle live at Safety Beach (along 90 mile beach) so we wanted somewhere different.

The only reason we want to stick to a budget is cause we know that all the travelling we plan to do in Europe will be EXPENSIVE !!!

Ok, what about flying to Maroochydore? There are some places along the Sunshine Coast which are nice and not as expensive as Noosa. Mooloolaba is nice.

Natalie, this is a very good point to keep in mind.

In your $1000pp you need to factor in meals, spending money, taxes (as often there are additional taxes that can amount to quite a few dollars on international holidays), sightseeing etc etc.

If it were me, I'd be heading for Cairns or somewhere like that for five days -I am sure you could do it all for $2,000
