There's a few fires burning at the moment in Victoria, and a severe one in South Australia. Is everyone safe from them? Does anyone live nearby?

I'm very grateful that there's none in my area this year, though there was one on Sunday, but they got it under control within a few hours. It's terribly smoky, but we are well away from the actual fires.

When I am grown up I will understand how beautiful it feels to administrate my life effectively.
Until then I will continue to torch all correspondence that bores me and to dance naked over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

We're okay now, but I evacuated our home on Sunday afternoon after being advised to leave (fire ready app).

My husband and daughter were out of town and had planned to catch the train home on Monday morning but parts of the tracks were unsafe so they had a huge detour bypassing the highway through country roads.

I hope everyone here is okay. smile.gif

We were evacuated last week as well. We live right near where the Mickleham fires started. My drive to work now is soeerie.

The scary part was the phone calls and texts telling us to leave

That is scary! I've always lived in fire prone areas, but if I've ever been evacuated it was for the Ash Wednesday bushfires.
Is your house and everything okay? How are the kids coping?

Yep everything is ok for us. There is a few people in our community that did lose sheds, livestock and some houses.

The kids know there was a fire since we drive through the area every day but they've been good. When we evacuated we threw them in the car and just said we were going swimming at grandmas.
