H starts kindergarten next year. He has been attending two days a week at pre-school for the past couple of years.

He's excited about starting, and more than ready. I'm glad that he's starting and excited for the new adventure he's about to start, but sad at the same time because this is the start of him really growing up.

We've only got one shirt and two pairs of shorts at the moment, as when we went back to buy more uniforms they were sold out! My Mum will visit the first day back (I will be at my own school teaching) to get the rest of what he needs, and we'll buy school shoes in January. He's getting his bag and lunch box for Christmas.

I was at the dentist yesterday and thought to check when the kids next appointment was due. The receptionist booked me in for late March, because apparently after school appointments fill up long in advance. It was the first moment I realised that I'm going to need things like after school appointments. No more being able to schedule things for the middle of the week. Crazy.

My second-born is currently doing exceedingly well at toilet training, and with a preppie in school 5 days a week, I don't think I'm going to reconise my life in about three months.

Also haven't yet done back to school shopping, other than ordering his new school bag. I think I'm in denial ph34r.gif

I still need to finish back to school shopping. Have a lunch box & drink bottle and school bag and uniforms waiting to be collected but that's it. Still need school shoes, both black ones and joggers. Waiting til payday, she doesn't start til the 5th.

Labelling may be in the form of a sharpie this year, have not gotten around to ordering labels... Can you get iron on label tape for a dymo? I have some plastic stuff I can use for her lunchbox etc...

Excellent!

Best $30 I ever spent on my Dymo. Discovered high school kids love using the things and take better care of 'the book you give them to do their work in because they always forget to bring one' if they're allowed to make fancy Dymo labels for it wink.gif Plus all the cupboards and shelves in the classroom and handy for the impromptu seating plan too!

How has the little ones been at school?

DS1 started back today in pre-primary and was stuck to me like glue for 20 minutes until he saw the parents were starting to leave then asked me to go. He was excellent at kindy last year telling me to go as soon as his bag was unpacked until the last month but speaking to another mum this morning it seems i wasn't the only one with dramas that all seemed to stem from the kindy teacher...fingers crossed he settles in and is back to himself. My only drama i have is convincing him he needs to keep his glasses on all day - I know the teacher and teachers aide will ensure it happens but just trying to get him to understand isn't fun.
