That woman (who is she? Should I know her?) is clearly an a-grade tool but her argument does demonstrate that, rightly or wrongly, your name can be used to judge you.

The woman is a D grade British reality TV celeb. The irony of such person lecturing on class is clearly lost on her. My favourite and best moment is;
'India is not about the locations though'
And Philly (lurve him) said 'but you're talking about education'
Hahahaha!!!

Anyway, yes, there are stereotypes about names and the parents choosing them - but you have to be a certain sort of pond life to take it out on the kids!

Our daughter's name looks a little 'uneek' because of the spelling, but the alternate spellings are not the traditional version. It's a Welsh name, and even our eldest child has learnt to say her name and then add 'It's a Welsh name' wink.gif

Bwahahahaha. India. Hilarious.

The most interesting thing about this is the extent to which a C list celeb will go to keep her name in the press. I'd much rather my child play with Terqhila Sunrise or Jorhdyn Jaxsssson than this mean woman's spawn. A quick google of her name revealed that she's a most unsavoury character anyway (adultery , sex in public places, inability to hold down a job etc). What a load of nonsense!

That she is. Have you seen the clips on her being interviewed about overweight people and those with tattoos? Quite the charmer.

Having a 'place' name for one of our kids (Adelaide) we cop a bit of it. Usually the frosty reply "NO she was not conceived there. BTW it is a CITY not a state, and YES it is a family name" is enough to shut people up. Although the most vocal person I have met against Delie's name had a daughter called Jahsintah. blink.gif

Happily most people with a brain know the city was named after a queen, so it is a name first and foremost rolleyes.gif A bit like Victoria is first and foremost a name and not a State!

DH won't let me use Adelaide for that very reason sad.gif To be fair he grew up there and follows 2 of their football teams and thinks he'll cope a lot of flack for naming his daughter after his footy teams. Still makes me grumpy though, why couldn't they name their city after some other royal!
