I was reading The Age today and saw a video link to the Chippendales! tongue.gif
Talk about a blast from the past. laugh.gif

So for a bit of fun.... what I want to know is....

Are you a fan of male strip shows?
Are you one of those women who screams and goes nuts.
Have you ever been to a male strip show?
Or are you like me and just don't get what all the fuss is about. tongue.gif

LOL Puggie. If only Google was around then for a quick check. laugh.gif

I remember the Chippendales (although when I saw this topic, I immediately thought of, "Alvin and the Chipmonks". I'm really outside of reality these days. blink.gif ) When I was a teenager, I had a huge poster of Jamie Durie on my wall of him flexing his shirtless torso whilst grasping heroically a long, large-linked chain. He was dreamy then and he's still dreamy now!

Generally though, I don't like strip shows of any type. I think it's demeaning to the person doing it.

laugh.gif Puggie.

A friend and I went and saw Manpower at our local leagues club back when we were around 18. We did not scream and go nuts but it was a good night out. We got a photo taken afterwards with them where I'm sitting on Jamie Durie's lap. ph34r.gif laugh.gif I was 18 ok!

The only other one I've seen was on a hens night - it was on a boat - quite well known but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. I was married at the time but I had a blast. The hen was from a very conservative culture but she really wanted to do it (honestly it wasn't peer pressure) so we totally got ito it and yelled and screamed and cheered her on. She had such a good night and 6 or so years on, she still talks about it being the most fun she's ever had.
So, while I'm not really into them, I do believe in making the most of any night out. biggrin.gif

I've never been! My sister went to one for her hen's night but I was only 12 or 13 at the time laugh.gif And all my friends have opted not to do strippers for their hen's nights. Can't say I'm devastated at not having been, not really my style.

And I saw the title and thought of Chip and Dale the rescue rangers! laugh.gif

I have seen a few male strippers at some Hens Nights. I think there have been 2 come to the house and 2 had the stripper cruises. I just pray that they dont come near me blush.gif On a recent Hens up in QLD they had 2 x topless waiters and a stripper at the house, then we went out and took the Hen to a show girls club and got her a lap dance in which we all went into the lapdance room (I never realised that you were all in the same room) so she was getting her lapdance with us watching her and the other 20 or so men with their ladies ohmy.gif

At the last 3 hens nights I went to there were male topless waiters. I think strippers are a bit overrated and cost a bomb for so little time thus topless waiters now being the popular option. The waiters actually make you drinks and serve as classy shirtless eye candy .. My friends booked the waiters from Hens Heaven where they got to pick and choose which waiter they liked.
I found the webpage if you want to see. I thought Chippendales was a cartoon! lol

Oh how sad am I - when I saw this my first thought was "Oh - she's got new chairs!!"

As for a strip show. Kinda funny story, actually...

I was living in QLD at the time, but had recently been to Melbourne to attend NOWSA. While I was there I'd seen an awesome female drumming collective called "Bad Girls". They were going on tour, so I was so excited when I saw their name up on the Beenleigh Tavern's billboard stating they were there the following night.

In retrospect the venue should have been my FIRST clue.

Anyway - I ring my mates who'd also been to NOWSA and we do a quick ring around to put together a group of us who would enjoy seeing a women's drumming group. Probably 50 or so of us.

I am sure you can imagine my true horror when I arrived at the Beenleigh Tavern to realise I had arranged 50 feminists (some of them hardcore lesbian separatists) to attend not "Bad Girls" (the drumming group) but "Bad Girls Australia" - essentially a female strip show ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

Frantic ringing around and cancelling. Me standing just inside the door with the bouncer explaining the mix up as people arrived. Awkward much?? Some of the people coming I did not know personally:

"Um hello - are you here for the drumming group or the strip show... Oh OK - you KNOW it's a strip show - fine sorry - ignore me...."

To this day a couple of friends like to bring up the story of 'remember in the 90s when Puggie organised us to go to that strip show?' Thanks guys dry.gif

So yes I guess I have seen a strip show (I could see the performance area from where I was standing). I did not scream or go nuts.

As for male strip shows? Only once for a hens and it was vulgar.

Tears of laughter. laugh.gif

I've never been to one but I share your attitude. I would have DIED on the spot if anyone had organised strippers for my hens but if I'm ever invited to a cheeky hens I figure I might as well laugh and whoop and have a good time. If one touched me though... *retch*. It's all pretty gross but if you're there, you might as well drink a terrible, radioactive cocktail and get some unflattering, drunken photos taken that you'll later untag yourself from on Facebook.

Are you a fan of male strip shows? No!

Are you one of those women who screams and goes nuts. Err, definitely no but like LJM, I'll go along with it if I'm at a hens but I'm not the best at faking it.

Have you ever been to a male strip show? Yeah, sort of... I went to a strip club in Amsterdam (as you do). It was mostly females with a few males thrown in. All such talented performers blink.gif blush.gif It was pretty hilarious and sometimes shocking.

Or are you like me and just don't get what all the fuss is about. I really don't get the fuss.

I too went to Manpower in my late teens. I have a photo with all the boys too. Sounds lame but they were actually a tasteful stripper show. Was about the dancing and fun rather than the block and tackle.

Not long after I went to Wild Boys and I felt embarrassed to be there. They went down to nothing and I wanted them to put their pants back on.

I've been to Wild Boys Afloat for a few hens nights and wasn't too fussed. No screaming or yelling for me.

We hired Helpful Hunks topless waiters for my friends hens party and Adrian was AMAZING!! Not sleazy at all. he was charming, polite, super good looking and kept everyones drinks full all night smile.gif He also wore a bottom revealing apron and started instigating awesome hens party games with everyone! VERY FUN NIGHT, i would highly recommend them smile.gif
Cheers Viv tongue.gif
