Background story: So it seems Miss A is refusing her day sleep for almost 2 weeks now. We bought her a BIG girl bed for Christmas and she has only slept in it during the day twice. Dh and I are both on holidays, which throws her routine out. She is very grumpy by about 3pm and needs a dummy/distraction to keep her from being all out feral!
She is sleeping 13 hours overnight and isn't waking! If we leave her in her room for a "sleep" during the she end ups trashing the room and playing quietly in it! She will fall asleep if we are in the car between 4-5pm.

So my question is, do i stick to the same routine until we both go back to work to see if she goes back to her normal 2 hours during the day, or do I accept that its all over and that I need to plonk her in front of the TV/leave her in her room for an hour to give her some "down time"?

I would say if she is feral in the arvo, keep the day sleep going. Having said that I am no day sleep expert - I am sure there are others with little ones the same age as yours who have advice. Has she always slept right thru and had the day sleep? If so I would say keep trying with some kind of sleep.

I know we had a fair bit of an adjustment period when I moved DD to her big bed. So that, combined with the fact that things are a bit out of routine, it sounds quite normal. I would keep pushing through. Maybe reduce the amount of stuff she can trash in her room and try and encourage her to just look through her books or something (although half of mine have been trashed that way!)

DD is 3 years and 2 months and still having a day nap. The last two days she hasn't so I'm thinking they're coming to an end, but I'm still going to try and push on anyway as her night sleep isn't being affected by the nap. At the very least, she has to stay in her room and play quietly or read books for about an hour because I need a sanity break!
