Hello there!

I am sure there has been a thread like this before, I did search but found nothing so I figured I would put it right here for all the mums-to-be to see smile.gif

This is my 3rd pregnancy, and after 3+ years since our 2nd was born I am a little rusty on all that is needed for THAT all important time that we are all counting down to however close or far away it may be smile.gif

Yesterday, I was up at the hospital visiting my close friend who just have birth to her 3rd baby (and 3rd boy!) and I went weak at the knees for the whole experience and found myself thinking non stop about the gorgeous baby bag that she had filled with all of the essential goodies!!

Alright so BLAH BLAH BLAH I have carried on enough, we get the idea I was thinking lets make a list of baby hospital bag needs. We can start with one or two things each and watch the list grow smile.gif

I am basing this off a 'normal' 3 Day Stay And I was thinking we could also start one up for our "mummies hospital bag" too. I will start with two things.

HOSPITAL BAG ESSENTIALS (BABY)

- 6 x 0000-000 singlets (depending on guesstimated size)
- 20 x NB nappies (averaging 6 per day plus a few)

Although, it depends on the hospital - at the hospital I had my boys in, all nappies and clothes/singlets/wraps/blankets/beanies etc were supplied so all I had to take for baby was

- wipes if using
- nappy rash cream
- cotton wool balls
- outfit to take baby home in

It's been a while, but from memory, you can never have enough maternity pads packed!

ETA: Scrap that, just saw that this isn't the Mummies bag, but the babies bag!

For baby, I'd add mittens, socks and wraps.

Not much? Lol. Both the hospitals Ive had my babies in provided pretty much everything, although I had a bag packed full each time. I used my zip up swaddles things during the day, and some singlets and a couple of outfits. DS I dressed in the hopsital singlets. And I used the cloth nappies there. I wouldnt take nappy cream, I cant imagine it would be needed that early in bubs life. Some going home outfits and nappies would be needed.

I was fortunate in that I didn't have to bring anything for DD except a going home outfit!

But what I found useful was:
*half a dozen 0000 outfits to change if I wanted to
*breast pads
*maternity pads
*granny undies!
*2-3 pairs of PJs for myself
*a wrap or a robe to quickly throw on if I had visitors
*my favourite toiletries
*a few snacks (I brought some fruit and cheese and crackers)
*A pair of thongs or slippers to wear around the hospital

I think that's all I needed...

I only took a going home outfit last time as everything else was provided by the hospital.

One thing you MUST remember ... A camera!

Wow thanks so much for adding to the list! I'm sure myself and other mums-to-be will find it very helpful smile.gif
I can't believe some of you have had hospitals that supply alot of the nessesities! That's fantastic!

Just going to modify the list as a whole, I'm adding a few things in that I have on my list. *sorry I am going to leave out a few things that I will add into the "mummies hospital bag" thread, thanks again so much*

Ps I'm starting the "Mummy's hospital bag" thread now smile.gif
