5 months for DS who took a couple of weeks to take to it.
4 months for DD who took a couple of seconds to take to it and hasn't looked back wink.gif She had reflux as well and the solids helped a lot.
Both of my kids were/are breastfed.

4mths for DD1 and DD2. We just started with farax (?) mixed with breastmilk, then moved onto pureed veges.

Gosh, that seems like a lifetime ago!

A bit past 4 months for the twins, even though they were prem. Nick hoovered everything down but Liam took a bit longer to get into it. They were FF by that age.

Alexandra had a few tastes of apple, pear etc at about 4 1/2 months but then became really ill with bronchiolitis and went back to just BFs for a fortnight. Since then, she's been a keen eater.

You can always try Rafferty on something and then stop for a week or two and try again later.

3.5 months - as recommended by health nurse. He was a big big baby and very hungry. Took to it very well and has been a great eater ever since.

Current recommendations are between 4-6 months, so I would give it a try.

About 5months for DS and I thought he would take to it like a duck to water as he was always a hungry bub and always showed the signs of being interested in solids. It wasn't untill we introduced finger foods at around 6.5months that he really took to it.... I guess he was not really into the mushy stuff on a spoon but the stuff he could pick up himself he loved biggrin.gif

Ok well after reading the response here we decided to give solids a try this afternoon. We started Raffie on avocado just like his sister and because it is minimal prep if it turned out he wasn't ready.

He LOVED it. He was grabbing the spoon and shoving it in his mouth and he cried when we took it away. He got it EVERYWHERE but he totally was ready. Glad I tried after all.

Am in total denial that he is already on solids though smile.gif

glad he loved it - sounds like your instinct was right and he was really ready for it!

It seems like only yesterday that you had him - where does the time go?

With DS1, I tried him at four months but he wasn't ready. We had better luck at five months.

With DS2, he was showing signs well before five months but I couldn't be bothered starting solids, so I waited till 5m3w. I put the first spoonful of pureed apple into his mouth and he nearly ate the spoon with joy. He is, to this day, a fabulous eater. happy.gif

Am glad that Rafferty enjoyed his avocado!

Sounds like he was well and truly ready!

Will started at about 6 months, Angus similar. But Angus wasn't interested until about 7 months so we stopped and started.

Aiden has been on solids from 3.5mths also and has only this week just started on lunch as well as dinner. It seems to help him heaps with the sleeping. Glad Raffy liked it smile.gif

Go Raffy!!

We started offering at about 5 months with all of them. Jack started with rice cereal and the other 3 we did baby lead. Jack to it fairly quickly, others weren't overly interested until after 7 months. Once they started they've all always been good eaters smile.gif
