Apparently this is now a thing. Photographers in the States are including in their wedding packages a 'boudoir' shoot prior that the bride can present to her husband on their wedding night.

I'd thought it was a bit of an obscure thing for Bridezilla's who just want to pack even more stuff into their wedding festival of moi but after reading the comments on Jezebel of all places it sounds reasonably common.

Would you do this?

Boudoir Photography is the wedding industry's answer to Internet porn - Jezebel

I'll be honest, I'd rather clip Nana's toenails. It all feels so staged.

I've seen lots of friends doing this lately but they're all defence partners with spouses who are deploying and they're doing more '50's pinup' style shoots

... on an interesting side note, very amusing that this site was NOT blocked by the Dept of Ed when I can't search and download Guns'n'Roses lyrics...

No. Not my style - I'm 99% certain my husband would feel the same.

No waaaaaaay!!! Honestly I felt uncomfortable enough having a professional photographer taking photos of me at my wedding let alone photos of me in my undies. I really don't think that my traditional Greek husband would be very impressed by the idea either.

I am actually looking into expanding my photography business into Boudoir, and looking around to have a boudoir session myself (for myself, though I do believe hubby would like the pics too wink.gif )

to each their own. Some people like myself cant wait to do it, where as it may not be something that others want to do..

I had a black and white nude photo shoot done about a month after we got engaged. It was very natural though; no lingerie (not a scrap of clothing, actually!), or props, or make-up. However it wasn't because of the engagement.. the evening we bought my ring, which was a few days after he proposed, sexpo was on and I'd never been so we went along for a short time. I picked up a voucher for a free shoot from a photography studio's stand, and went along the following month.

DH ended up spending $3000 on three framed pics. ohmy.gif But anyway, I would have ended up doing it without the engagement, but I called it my "engagement present" to DH. wink.gif

There was an I-Do bride that did some, I think it may have actually been the morning of her wedding?? In her wedding lingerie and veil I think in some shots.

Not something I would personally do (might break the camera laugh.gif) but to each their own.

I'm in the "tacky" camp.

I don't mind nude photography - probably wouldn't ever do it myself - but something about the lingerie/wedding thing ... I dunno, I just don't like it laugh.gif

My first thought was, "No WAY!" but the more I think of it, I don't mind the idea. It's not because I'm "scared he'll turn to porn", but because it'd be kinda fun and I know he'd love it.

Of course we'd have to hide them from the kids. lol

Each to their own, however please don't do what a relative did and put the boudoir shots into the wedding album and hand it over to elderly relatives to look at without a warning.

My poor mum saw a lot more than she wanted to ohmy.gif blink.gif
