Looking forward to finally being able to join in this section of I-Do!
After nearly 8 years of being without a pet our landlady (after three years) has finally agreed to let us get a cat. So excited!!!!! The timing couldn't be better as DH and I are going to be on a week and a half's leave from the 17th which will give us a bit of time to find the right pudda and get him/her (but probably her) settled.

Are you going to go through the RSPCA? We got our beautiful Oliver from there and it was the best thing we ever did!

We have Burmese cats too. We chose the breed because we wanted really affectionate, playful cats that DH would be ok with because he's always had allergies to cats. He hasn't had any allergies to them at all which was a relief!
They are beautiful cats, and every one I have met has had a really sweet personality too Our boy is a very affectionate little fellow, but our girl is crazy affectionate, and such a little sweetheart
What colour is the one you are going to meet on Saturday? I hope it goes well!

The girl we're going to visit hasn't been bred at all, she has been her pet, but she seems to think we'd be a good fit+. I'd been 'stalking' this lady's page for a couple of years, she breeds Siamese & Burmese so when the amazing news came that we could finally get a pudda tat, she was the first person I wanted to see if she had any older cats available. Ideally I would love a Siamese, I was raised with them and I'm a sucker for 'points' but other than a new litter she had no Siamese available. Maybe this girl is meant to be our baby .
Are your babies talkers? Do they like to be brushed? What colours are they?

We have a blue boy (18months old) and a chocolate girl (9 months old) I love the colours of the chocolates. Our girl has a lovely beige coat with the dark chocolate brown face and ears. Her paws and tail are getting darker too, she was a very light beige all over when she came home with us.
They both love to be brushed. They lay still for you and purr their little hearts out, it's very cute. Our boy is VERY talkative. He has a very shrill demanding meow when he wants to! And he is always chatty. Our girl has a tiny meow and doesn't use it very often. She never uses it to talk to us! We only ever hear her meow when she's in the next room, chatting to herself She makes up for that with her purr though. She has a really loud purr and she seems to always be purring when she is near us They both do that funny chatter when there are birds outside the window though.

The breeder came out to meet us with the cat in a carrier, so we didn't get to meet any of the other cats...so no risk of cat-napping .
She's beautiful, not particularly big but nice and solid. She has light greeny/gold eyes, her legs, face and tail are almost black and her body is dark brown. Her coat is in beautiful condition and she's so sleek! She purrs like no tomorrow, and happily let us fuss all over her. DH turned to absolute mush with her and he didn't have any sort of reaction so all is well . She'll be microchipped this coming week (she hadn't been previously as she'd been kept as a pet) and we'll hopefully collect her Tuesday week after we get back from our long weekend in Melbourne . We did a little shopping on the way back to Brisbane, so she now has a multi-level scratching tower, water and feed dishes, litter tray and I reckon enough litter to see her through until Christmas.

She sounds gorgeous
Have you thought of a name for her?
