Hi Ladies

Looking forward to finally being able to join in this section of I-Do! wub.gif

After nearly 8 years of being without a pet our landlady (after three years) has finally agreed to let us get a cat. So excited!!!!! The timing couldn't be better as DH and I are going to be on a week and a half's leave from the 17th which will give us a bit of time to find the right pudda and get him/her (but probably her) settled.

Stay tuned!

Liesl

YAY!!!!! I'd love a cat one day but DH is the roadblock here, not landladies.

Congratulations wub.gif

Are you going to go through the RSPCA? We got our beautiful Oliver from there and it was the best thing we ever did!

Thanks ladies! DH and I are off to Maryborough tomorrow (taking an early mark to beat the Friday traffic) to meet a breeder on Saturday who has a nearly two year old Burmese girl that she is wanting to rehome. We're going to see if she likes us and if DH has any sort of reaction to her. If all goes well, we'll go back to collect her after we get back from a long weekend in Melbourne...if not, the search will continue.

Oh how exciting!!!

We have Burmese cats too. We chose the breed because we wanted really affectionate, playful cats that DH would be ok with because he's always had allergies to cats. He hasn't had any allergies to them at all which was a relief!

They are beautiful cats, and every one I have met has had a really sweet personality too biggrin.gif Our boy is a very affectionate little fellow, but our girl is crazy affectionate, and such a little sweetheart wub.gif

What colour is the one you are going to meet on Saturday? I hope it goes well!

Thanks BB. She's a brown, a really gorgeous dark chocolatey brown smile.gif. The breeder has a chocolate girl that she is considering desexing, but I think she's reluctant, she also has a blue that she is definitely having desexed when she's had her next litter and reared them.
The girl we're going to visit hasn't been bred at all, she has been her pet, but she seems to think we'd be a good fit+. I'd been 'stalking' this lady's page for a couple of years, she breeds Siamese & Burmese so when the amazing news came that we could finally get a pudda tat, she was the first person I wanted to see if she had any older cats available. Ideally I would love a Siamese, I was raised with them and I'm a sucker for 'points' but other than a new litter she had no Siamese available. Maybe this girl is meant to be our baby smile.gif.

Are your babies talkers? Do they like to be brushed? What colours are they?

The browns are beautiful. A friend of ours had a lovely brown girl who sadly passed away (old age) a couple of months ago. He just brought his new brown girl (kitten) home last week smile.gif

We have a blue boy (18months old) and a chocolate girl (9 months old) I love the colours of the chocolates. Our girl has a lovely beige coat with the dark chocolate brown face and ears. Her paws and tail are getting darker too, she was a very light beige all over when she came home with us.

They both love to be brushed. They lay still for you and purr their little hearts out, it's very cute. Our boy is VERY talkative. He has a very shrill demanding meow when he wants to! And he is always chatty. Our girl has a tiny meow and doesn't use it very often. She never uses it to talk to us! We only ever hear her meow when she's in the next room, chatting to herself laugh.gif She makes up for that with her purr though. She has a really loud purr and she seems to always be purring when she is near us wub.gif They both do that funny chatter when there are birds outside the window though.

Haha! We both loved visiting our breeder. We sat and played with cats and kittens for at least two hours every time we were there (meeting each of our furbabies and then going back to bring them home). It's quite a lot of fun! If she wasn't 3.5 hours away I think we'd visit regularly! laugh.gif it was lovely going back for our girl, as we spent some time saying hello to our boys mum and dad again, they are all the sweetest little cats wub.gif

Hope that you have a lovely visit tomorrow and I'll cross my fingers that you find your newest family member smile.gif

We're going to be fur-parents!!!!!!!!

The breeder came out to meet us with the cat in a carrier, so we didn't get to meet any of the other cats...so no risk of cat-napping smile.gif.
She's beautiful, not particularly big but nice and solid. She has light greeny/gold eyes, her legs, face and tail are almost black and her body is dark brown. Her coat is in beautiful condition and she's so sleek! She purrs like no tomorrow, and happily let us fuss all over her. DH turned to absolute mush with her and he didn't have any sort of reaction so all is well smile.gif . She'll be microchipped this coming week (she hadn't been previously as she'd been kept as a pet) and we'll hopefully collect her Tuesday week after we get back from our long weekend in Melbourne smile.gif. We did a little shopping on the way back to Brisbane, so she now has a multi-level scratching tower, water and feed dishes, litter tray and I reckon enough litter to see her through until Christmas.

HUZZAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
