Like Puggie's previous thread I'm wanting to find out what were the best and worst favors you received at a wedding.

Do you keep them (if they weren't edible) or have you somehow lost/thrown/given them away.

For the wedding I have been too the edible items have been the better option as they have been enjoyed. However other items that weren't edible...well I couldn't tell you where they are. So to me purchasing something like this is a bit pointless iykwim.

I have found some gorgeous bird cage boxes that I feel would look lovely hanging from a tree made from sticks. I'm not sure what to put in them as wedding favours. But I also want to make sure that what I put in them is worthwhile.

Can't recall the worst favour .. none have been that bad.
Over the years I have culled all the candles and candle holders though.

As for the ones we've liked - food, wine, golf balls all get enjoyed here. But from a trinket perspective, the one favour I have kept over the years is a set of clogs, from a lovely dutch girl I know. It was just so ... her smile.gif

We gave people chocolate truffles in noodle boxes tied with ribbon and name cards attached. We used them as placecards also.

I've been to weddings with shot glasses/ little bottles of spirits / photo frames, I can't think of anything bad or tacky that we've been given

The limoges toast holders the ladies got at one wedding we attended were pretty spesh. While they would have been very expensive to buy, I left mine there. Not at all to my taste tongue.gif

The best one was a wine glass trinket thing made from wire and beads into the shape of the guests initial.

We went with maltesers and M&Ms in little boxes that looked like a bride or groom. Gourmet... but something most people like.

Best one I've got though is a little perspex frame to hold a strip of photobooth photos (the couple had one there). They are just some really gorgeous photos of me, DH, DD, my sis, parents, friends etc. All the little strips are in there and I can change them all the time. DD loves hers.

Can't remember a 'worst', I think everyone went with food or alcohol both of which were often consumed at the wedding anyway...

Wedding favours are a gift so I don't think there's been a 'worst'....it's something you get for nothing!!

Best favours a probably the photo booth ones: I have been to three weddings with the photo booths and I love them, great fun and a great mementos of the day.

Other great ideas have been stubby holders ( sounds tacky, but again, it's something you keep for ages, use for ages and it's a good memento), photo frame place cards (they sent photo thank you cards to slip in there after the wedding) and a champagne flute filled with Cadbury Favourites.

Little chocolates or lollies are always sweet and I love taking those home for the kids. They are a bit 'dime a dozen' though. Like I said though, not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, any favour I receive is a good one!!

Most of the favours I've received have been edible. Of the others, I can't actually remember!

For ours, we had squares of Rocky Road in a little celophane package. Easy to make, went with our colour scheme (with the jelly inside) and if any were left behind, we ate them!

I don't think I've been to a Wedding yet where the favours weren't edible. A few of our guests kept part of the favours we supplied - small round tins with jelly beans in them (the jelly belly ones). Obviously they ate the jelly beans, but some have kept their tins and use them as lolly tins or to hold other things. They were so cheap though that I wouldn't have cared if they'd been thrown out!

The only "bad" favours (as in ones I don't get excited over) are the sugared almonds, only because I don't like them. Though my sister LOVES them so it's always going to come down to personal taste really.
