I second the Katies slim fit jeans. I bought a few pairs in different colours last week. I normally don't like jeans from places like Katies, Sussan etc. but I found they fit really well, are comfy and look fairly nice. They do have a good suck-in bit around the waist. I've been having trouble with jeans recently because my waist is bigger than my hips/bottom thanks to left over skin/baby flubber so I find things either are too big in the waist and fall down or bag around my bum and fit in the waist. Oh and I fit into a size 10 in them for some reason laugh.gif

Maybe we're all getting old laugh.gif I love my Katies clothes, I'm easily a sz 8 there! And for shorts, got some really good ones at Suzanne Grae last year, sat right on the hips and waist and weren't ridiculously short.

Yeah, I bought a size 12 in those pants! I'm normally a 14-16. I did buy them fitting quite tight though because they will stretch.

Bascially I'm just loving Katies etc because their sizing seems true. All the younger type stores have strange sizing. Even places like Just Jeans etc I can try on an XL sometimes and I'll swim in it, then another time it barely fits!

I think we even have a Katies down here, might have to check them out!

Or just do what I normally do, estimate size, order online, and hope for the best ph34r.gif

So I was out getting some groceries this afternoon without Lily and took the opportunity to pop into Portmans and try on that stripe dress. The dress itself fit really nicely (And Gem, the top would stretch down to breastfeed, but that was only trialling on my B cups!). and covered up all my bumpy bits nicely. HOWEVER, the belt was nowhere near able to be done up sad.gif I spoke to the shop girls about it and told them that considering the dress fit nicely, the belt should also. I mean, I'm no supermodel, but these sorts of things should still fit! They were very puzzled and apologetic (and checked that it wasn't a mix up with something else. It wasn't) and said they will give that as feedback. And considering it was the belt that made the dress so cute I don't think I'll be buying it unless it comes on a super sale and I can then buy another belt.

Ditto! I bought a size 12 but i think i will go back and buy a few more - maybe in a 10 because the 12 was tight at first but is a little baggy in the bottom now i've stretched it out. Great buy though! biggrin.gif

It is freezing here at the moment so I cannot even think about buying any spring clothes but I'm reading and watching and coveting and living vicariously through you girls! I think I'll get a pair of coloured jeans for the first time in my life. I think I'll trial the slim leg ones as well, I've always, always gone for boot legs or man style jeans but I'm actually starting to realise that they don't suit me, and probably never have. Oops. blush.gif

I got some dresses over winter to wear with tights and boots that I can still wear in summer with flats so I'll probably be wearing lots of dresses. I don't know how long I'll have this post-BFing body for so I want to make the most of it. laugh.gif I'm the slimmest I've been in, oh, about 5 years. laugh.gif

I've got a funny body, my shoulders are much wider than my hips so I need to be careful about pants, I've decided dresses and skirts are easier!

Thelma, can you make an extra hole in the belt or take it off and replace it with a cheapy from somewhere else?

Target's Daily Deal is 40% off women's handbags and clutches again and 40% off jewelry. It does say not already reduced merchandise but the bag I bought last time was already marked down and still 40% off.

Oh no sad.gif What about it didn't work? I know I tried on some jean type ones a while ago and didn't like them on me, and then just recently tried on the coloured skinny ones and they were great!

Piper, I'll see if I see a cheap belt around, but I don't really want to have to spend more money when I'm already trying to justify getting the dress! And the belt only just got through the first bit of the buckle, let alone any more of it!

HOLY CRAP that was quick - my Porm@ns delivery just arrived!!

I ordered a 12 in the jeans (allowing for a bit of belly) and they fit! Great length too - I'm a shorty and normally I end up with a mile of leftover jeans at the ankle, but not in these! Sure, they're still a bit snug around the belly, and I'm rocking a muffin top, but once I've toned the belly back up a bit, they'll be even better.

VERY happy!

It sounds like people have been buying some nice things! What is the length of the Katie's jeans like? I always struggle to find jeans long enough.

I had a bit of a shopping spree with birthday money - black Levi skinny jeans, black work trousers from Portmans (so long - they're great!), a gorgeous emerald green cardy from Sussan, black singlet from Sussan, and two t-shirts from Sportsgirl. I did very well!!

There were some very cute stripy flats in Big W today - $9. I was incredibly tempted, but restrained myself!

I found a nice stripey top at Millers the other day ph34r.gif Like some of the girls here, stores like Suzanne Grey, Sussan & Katies seem to fit better and are more...ahem...age appropriate for me now. I feel so old and daggy whenever I walk into Sportsgirl or Portmans.

After living in bootcut jeans all my life, I've finally discovered skinny jeans, after my foray with the Crossroads jeggings, LOVE them BTW, highly recommended! So I've been on the lookout for black skinny jeans that aren't too long for my stumpy legs, thanks for the Katies idea, will check them out.

Also been looking everywhere for espadrille wedges to wear when the weather warms up which aren't too high and comfortable to wear all day. I finally found these in the natural colour. They were cheaper on Amazon even with shipping than on Endless, go figure!

SEA - yeah the stuff in Big W if nice, and not too expensive. You should go for it, 9 bucks...baaargain!

ETA: Hmm..just checked out the Katies slim fit. They look nice, but I'm looking for jeans with a button and zip fly. Short length. Does anyone have any suggestions?
