We have heaps of brands - Greenkids, BumGenius, Monkeydoodlez, Bambooties - we also got given some new brands I haven't tried for my baby shower.I also had some bubblebubs but not for use with an newborn.

I did have some Itti Bitti but I swapped those with a friend because I found they leaked on Raya - mind you Raffie is far more chunky.

I plan on using mcns once Reuben is big enough for the ones I have. Ive got some green kids, some prefolds and covers, but mostly pocket nappies that I made myself.

ZOEY I wish I had of bought some prefolds and covers. Heaps of people said they are great for newborns but for some reason I didn't really want to go down that path laugh.gif

CHELLEY We have ittis, bambooty (probably the best fit for Xander), bbh petites and a few other random WAHM brands. He's 4.5kgs so I can't believe we are still getting leg leaks. Very annoying wacko.gif I hate disposables!

TESS Wow how awesome making MCN's. I wish I was talented like that. I have NO clue when it comes to anything sewing.

AFM Went and had another MACH appointment. Alexander is 4.5kgs, nearly 700 grams above birth weight. YAY! He's gotten into a 3 hourly feeding pattern during the day but nights are awful ph34r.gif He was up every 1-2 hours last night.

The MACH nurse thinks it's because he only takes one breast at a feed BUT there is over 120mls in one boobie so I don't think so. I do offer the 2nd side but he won't have a bar of it.

IS EVERYONE WRAPPING BUBS? It seems some days that Alexander hates being wrapped, wants to sleep on his tummy not back, wants to be in the wrap me up.

Im wondering if we just pick one way of doing it and stick with that for consistency? M loved being wrapped, and was wrapped for almost 7 months so this is a new experience for me tongue.gif

I am too much of a mean mummy laugh.gif Rafferty doesn't like to be wrapped but bad luck - he is. Raya always was wrapped arms down. Rafferty constantly wants his hands in his mouth and he sucks his thumb- Raya never did.

We started wrapping with his arms up but he is such a houdini, it is too tempting and he spends the whole time trying to get his hands in his mouth. So now I am just doing what I did with Raya and making him be wrapped with his arms by his side. He protests but I have found he has fallen asleep far quicker once I decided right this is it and stuck to one thing.

WOW i wish Rafferty only took one side. Your supply must be awesome. Rafferty can takeboth sides, then I offer him a second time on the breast and then my nipples are too sore so I have to top him up and he will still take 70ml or more. If I express Iget about 120ml from both sides so he is having big feeds. He drinks well over his formula allowance too when we give him formula feeds.

Rafferty is in a like clockwork 4 hour feed pattern over night with longer stretches during the day eg fed at 9am and then 2pm. Attempting to wake him earlier during the day for feeds is useless.

However I think i am more tired now this second time than I was with Raya - perhaps because I am not sleeping during the day.

Hi Girls

I'm still here and read just not finding much time to reply and to be honest not much to say. Everything seems to be going well here, except for me but hopefully I can start working on that next week and then things should get better (fingers crossed).

I know it's so early to even be thinking about this but do you think you've finished your family now and if so how do you know?

K13, fingers crossed that things get better.

CSaM, 1-2 hourly feeding overnight and you sound so upbeat in your post.

IS EVERYONE WRAPPING BUBS?
Yes even if he doesn't always agree with it. Oliver I was able to wrap Harry with his arms by his side. Harry on the other hand it is impossible to get the wrap over his with his arms by his side. So Harry has his arms wrapped across his chest(he occasionally gets his hands out). But the same as Chelley said the better he is wrapped the better he sleeps. Oliver was wrapped until about 7 months too.

K13, We knew we only ever wanted to two kids and it just feels as though are family is complete. Do you feel yours is not complete yet?

Yesterday I went for an hour walk and boy was I sore. My back was so sore and my legs were a bit achey after not being able to go for a big walk since Harry was born. I am actually still not meant to for another two weeks. But I am an active person so I needed to get out and stretch my legs.

We are going out for dinner tonight with hubby's family for Mothers Day. My sister is coming over to watch Harry. I was going to take him but she offered to watch him at home for us. Oliver is coming out for dinner with us.

Here's my tip - don't go the shops and try on a pair of skinny jeans 3 weeks post birth laugh.gif laugh.gif Not the best for the self esteem.

K13 hope you are feeling better soon. Do you have good support around you?

Umm after two horrendous pregnancies yep we are done. Hubby says I can have more kids but just not with him wub.gif Basically we have been blessed with two healthy babies when things could have gone a very different way particularly when Raffie wanted to get out from 29 weeks so I feel why tempt fate. But who knows how I will feel in a few years when I have forgotten lol

Tess my back is aching too. I went shopping yesterday and my scar held up not too badly but the inside of my thigh is sore, like a groin muscle has been pulled. Not walking too beautifully today. I can't wait to start some pilates and get back into the pool in two weeks time.

How is everyone celebrating mother's day?

tess88 - I'm going to start seeing my psychologist this friday so hopefully these horrible thoughts and feelings can be sorted out soon, so I can start loving all my girls again.

We are wrapping here and will probably persist until about 4mths like we did with Kate. Initially Violet doesn't mind but she is so wriggly she often works her way out and we have to re-wrap her.

I still have the feeling that I want more kids but it's definitely not as strong as it was after Kate was born, so I'm trying to figure out whether that means our family isn't complete yet or whether that feeling is always with you to some small extent regardless.

chelley - unfortunately fitting into skinny jeans isn't a problem but it causes one in the barrage of bitch comments I get. The problem I'm facing is much worse and has already almost cost me my family so hopefully I can work through it and soon.

I understand the feeling of "why tempt fate", I often wonder if it's worth the risk of possibly condemning another life after all our losses, but for me I'm just not 100% sure that this is our completed family. I guess I'll just have to weigh up the risks with how strong my desire for another baby is.

I'm spending mothers day with the in laws so that should be fun wink.gif

K13, hopefully talking with the psychologist helps. It must be hard feeling the way you feel.

Chelley, no trying skinny legs on for me(I don't wear them). But I did have to go buy some pants for dinner the other night. I am to small for my maternity clothes, but I am still just a little bit to big for my normal clothes. I used to do pilates before I was pregnant so can't wait to be given the go ahead. Although I am not sure how that will go because my ankle is so sore from walking the other day(it is wear the plate is).

Hope you all had a wonderful Mothers Day.

Harry has his four week check up with the MCHN today.
