Chelley, he sounds like he is a hungry little baby. When I burp Harry I lean him against my shoulder and pat his back and that always puts him to sleep.

I am so exhausted today. I have been up since 5:30am. Harry woke for a feed so I fed him. Then I couldn't get back to sleep at 6am because hubby was snoring. I knew Oliver would wake at 7am so I decided it was just easier to get up and have a cup of tea in peace. Well this afternoon Oliver has been complaining he has a sore throat so he is not sleeping well tonight. If he keeps waking hubby is going to sleep in his room with him. Before Harry was born if Oliver was unwell I would put him in bed with us but Harry's cradle is in our room. Plus we have to try and limit Oliver's contact with Harry because it is best for Harry health wise if he doesn't get sick until he is stronger.

Well I better go and hopefully I can get some sleep because I think it might be a very long night.

Finally on a computer!! I have been stalking on my phone but couldn't be bothered to type a reply on my phone, it's too tedious for my liking tongue.gif

Tess Hope you managed to get some sleep last night. My toddler is sick, and has taken to breathing/coughing all over Alexander rolleyes.gif ph34r.gif VERY annoying!

can you add Alexander Thomas 25th April to the first post please smile.gif

Chelley Hope the school run went ok. I cant believe how heavy capsules are to cart around! I carried Xander from Kmart to the parents room the other day & I was exhausted by the time I got there lol

Zoey Welcome! I love the name Reuben & I loved your birth story. Thanks for sharing.

AFM We are going well. Alexander has taken to feeding 3 hourly which is doable! He did a massive stretch last night, 830pm-130am so I woke up all engorged and leaky wacko.gif

I have had to express a few times as I have a lump on one side. I got 120mls in 8 minutes with my manual pump! No wonder the little guy is packing on the weight! I also have a fast let down so he struggles a bit at the beginning of a feed.

Malachi has been such a fantastic big brother. No jealousy issues what so ever, and he loves kissing his little brother & lying down with him. It melts my heart seeing the two of them together wub.gif

We have a big sister with germs in this house too. Snotty nose and runny eyes - keep waving her away from Raffie so he doesn't end up all snuffly.

I posted a blog post about the school drop off today - let's just say it didn't go that smoothly and then I got home and realised I had worn my pants backwards ROFL.

Thankfully Raffie loves the hug a bub and Nick is off work tomorrow and doing groceries on the way home.

Got more sleep then I expected last night. Oliver kept waking every hour up until about midnight. He would cry out because his throat was sore. At about 10pm we had to give him an icy pole to help ease the throat pain, then I was able to get him to take some dimetapp(sp). His nose is runny today. Oliver has a very good immune system and gets over colds really quickly. His colds usually only last 24-48hrs and he hardly ever gets sick. So fingers crossed he gets over this one as quick as usual. I tend to get over mine fast too. Hubby on the other hand tends to get sick for two weeks and then they tend to turn into chest infections setting off his asthma. I made hubby go to the drs tonight to get the flu jab.

CSaM, Oliver is the same with wanting to kiss, cuddle and lay with Harry all the time. He is just testing the boundaries a little but in hindsight it may have been because he was getting sick. Its wonderful he did a big stretch last night.

Chelley, I read your blog post today and thought it was funny, love the part about the pants. How did the pick up go?

Was anyones baby snuffly when they were born? Harry was and still is. Paed said he wasn't ill but some babies take longer to get rid of the snuffles. We have to use Fess for babies saline drops a couple of times a day.

I can't believe Harry is only three weeks old, it feels like he has been here longer then three weeks.

I know Tess I feel like Raffie has been here longer than 3 weeks too. Raffie wasn't snuffly but I know it is very common plus their airways are so much narrower they sound worse. Raffie snores like his daddy

Reuben has been sniffly since birth also, but today he has started coughing the poor little bugger sad.gif I think he has picked up the cold that Mayana has had on and off since he was born. She always gets a cold when the weather changes, and it's been freezing here lately. She's already been up tonight coughing, sounding very croupy. I've slathered her in euky bear rub. It's hard to not let her go near Reuben.. all she wants is to be with him.

I'll have to pop over to your blog and have a read Chelley smile.gif

Love your blog post Chelley. I had to giggle when you talked about changing the nappy... it's been a bit adjustment for us having to wrangle a fire-hose after having a girl first! It's certainly a different experience! And I've worn more pee than I care to admit wink.gif

Chelley, Harry doesn't snore but occasionally you can hear him make his snuffly sounds. Is Raffies snore loud or a cute little snore?

Zoey, its so hard keeping the older sibling away from the baby. The weather has been cold here but today we actually got a 22 degree sunny day.

We are having some serious behaviour regression with Aurelia which has completely caught me off guard. I am losing my patience really easily. She has always had exemplary behaviour - and now I still see children a LOT worse than her, but I am still shocked.

Poor little thing told us she was leaving and going to a new family - breaks my heart to hear her say that. I am trying to be patient but gee wizz. Any tips girls.

Thankfully it is just hubby and I taking a beating - she is wonderful with Rafferty and totally adores him.

I forget that most of you have girls before your boy. I am able to change boys nappies fast from experience with Oliver.

Hopefully Aurelia & Charlotte adjust to the change soon. We notice Oliver can start to act up if everyone is giving Harry attention. I just try to include him as much as possible(which can be hard at times).

CLD, could Aiden be waking because he is cold or has some wind. Some good advice I was given by the paed was when FF always stop half way through the feed to burp and then after burping attempt the rest of the feed. Another piece of advice I was given was when they are waking if you hold them against your chest and pat them on the back do they fall asleep. If they do(without a feed) it could be a sign he is struggling to sleep properly because he is cold. We did the last one with Oliver when he was a baby. He did fall asleep on me so I added an extra blanket and he slept better. Oliver was a sos baby and he slept wonderful, still does with the occasional bad night now(that was due to being of my ankle for six months). We are doing the same with Harry but we are not following the routine as strictly. Scassy(sp) on here did sos with both her children and helped with some issues I had with Oliver when I started doing sos. So if you get stuck or have any questions I am sure she wouldn't mind if you pm her. Whatever way you go I hope Aiden starts sleeping better so you can get some sleep.

Well Oliver seems a lot better today. I love how he gets over an illness fast. Makes life easier.

Oh no Chelley. Its horrible when everyone in the house is not well. SOS is Save Our Sleep, its routine based on teaching your baby/child to self settle. When Oliver was a baby he was a very bad sleeper(would barely sleep longer then an hour at a time) and that is how we ended up on it. Our GP called him a colicky baby. You do need to allow your baby to cry what they call a protest cry but you never leave your baby to cry an emotional cry. Some mothers are all for it and some are dead set against it because of the crying(its classed as comfort crying). But in saying all that I don't think it is for everyone. My sister used to be against it until I did it. She has changed her mind but still wouldn't do it because it doesn't suit her.

CLD It must have been the night for crappy sleeping. Alexander was up from 3-5ish with wind pain & nothing we did made him comfortable dry.gif

I hope the 2 kids time their sleeps for you today so you manage to have a nap.

Chelley I hope Raya's behaviour settles down for you soon. It must be frustrating for all involved.

Tess Alexander is really snotty too. I asked the midwife while we were in hospital & she said it's probably from such a quick delivery. Though now we all have colds, which probably isn't helping the snot situation!

Is anyone using cloth on their newborn?

CSaM, wind pain is horrible isn't it. We are using disposables. My sister has asked if I can make her some MCN's when she is pregnant. She was going to use the terry toweling square cloth nappies until I told her about MCN's. I use the terry toweling ones for spit up rags.
