Speaking of which, does anyone know where I can find kids clothes with wool in them? Would love to get a couple of undershirts for DD for this winter.

My resourceful MIL found some great long-sleeved merino tops in Pumpkin Patch. They're very unPP-like - no badges or sports references - just nice plain stripes, and they wash well in a normal load etc. They don't do a lot of merino stuff but worth a look.

Also, Aldi just had a special on heaps of merino kids clothing - she picked up some long-sleeved onesies that we are using under PJs now it's getting down to wacko.gif temperatures at night. It's really nice soft wool and no itches or discomfort!

Back on topic - those curve-embracer jeans look good. I've got three pairs of Next jeans that I love - I'm a very very very very very awkward shape (HUGE quad muscles), and only tend to find trousers that fit every few years wacko.gif and I have to have bootcut jeans but always find the waists are soooo big once I get my legs in. Next always had a good shape, but with no trips to the UK looming, and holes starting to spring up in my current pairs, I'm facing a winter with only one pair of jeans and then just my normal phalanx of black pants.

There's a Next online site for Australia, which also has free shipping. If you know exactly what style and size you need might be worth checking out.

Yeah, I did see the Aldi ones in the catalogue but I think they only went to a size 2, and DD needs a 3 in tops. Will check out PP.

I picked up some cheap and cheerful coloured jeans at Cotton On the other day - pics on my blog.

The fit is actually pretty good (although I have no hips so all jeans need reefing up when I bend over etc anyway) and I am a convert to the coloured denim smile.gif

I spent ages picking out dresses on the ASOS website last night and then changed my mind and didn't buy any of them rolleyes.gif

I have a question - I need new tailored pants for work - so in greys, blacks, pinstripes etc. I LOATHE cheap pants (even though I am happy to buy cheap clothes for other pieces) and find that I need a very tight fit as they stretch so often. Anyone got a recommendation for a better quality type of dressy pants? I haven't bought any for years as I spent a fortune on good brands back then and they have lasted so well!

I just did a big shop at Cotton On on the web. I wanted a grey cardi, and they had them on there for $14 reduced, so off I went to the shops. But the sale was only online, and the shipping was either $10 or free if you spent over $50. So I spent $54 laugh.gif But I got about 9 things, including three scarfs at $2 ea. I had to stop myself buying stuff from Typo too.

Amy, I bought a few black pants from Portmans a few years back when I needed corporate style and they have lasted so well. Including wearing some at the beginning of DS's pregnancy. There is also a brand at Myer that I had in skirts which lasted really well, but I cant check the name as DD is asleep in our room.

I got two pairs of work pants from Veronica Maine about two years ago they are 100% wool so perfect year round. Got them on half price sale from DJ's, so they only cost me $100 each. Sounds a lot but like you Penny P I prefer to pay for quality on some items. They have worn so well, they honestly still look brand new. I have hips so not sure about the fit for you, but it would be worth a look.

Kisma - wow that is a lot of items for $54!!!

Angel Elle - so true about the cheap jeans. My curve (curb laugh.gif ) embracers still look brand new despite being my staple jeans last year, have to go through my huge pile of jeans that I discovered when we unpacked after doing our house up, if none fit then I might just have to help myself to a new pair!!

I went shopping on the weekend. Hit Pitt Street Mall in Sydney after having to roll up to work on Saturday morning for some silly work they insisted had to be done on the weekend. Got a few things from Witchery as suggested in my thread so thanks for the suggestion!!!

I got...

top 1

top 2

jacket but I got this one in 'blonde' which is basically a creamy kind of colour.

Best bit was that I got all of them 25% off, gotta love a sale that starts the day you go shopping laugh.gif laugh.gif Oh and scored a free scarf too. I think I have one in just about every colour by now!!

I also got a work top from Gap, but can't seem to find a piccie of it online.

Going to check out Glassons, maybe next month!! wink.gif

Don't do it!!! Mine fit great for a month or so and are now soooo saggy and ill fitting!

Good to know - not that they fit me properly anyways.

I got a merino wool skivvy from PP for Nina, aqua and black striped, she is yet to wear it but I like the look of it and on-line it was cheap as.

Amy - I was going to suggest DJ's for pants - David Lawrence, Table 8, Sportscraft and Veronica Maine always have good sales in DJ's

Ooh, I eyed off those PP merino tops for Cait but never got her one. On the topic of kids clothes and Kmart though, got a cream wool hoodie vest for Cait for $5. NOTHING stains this thing permanently. I was so worried about buying her cream clothes!

Does it actually have wool in it? I find it very hard to get Nina any jumpers with wool in them, even from PP (I bought her 3 long line hoodie cardies for this winter and none of them have wool).

PP have this one for girls atm in size 4 and 5 (I buy Nina size 4 and she's only just turned 3)

Steph, love your purchases! I especially like the first pic you posted.

I really must go check out cotton on, haven't got there yet, but liking the sound of stocking up on cardis and coloured jeans.

nice! Will be great to go under tops that look nicer but not so warm on those really cold days. Also good for bedtime too. Is there a code at the moment for free postage for PP?

I don't really shop at PP anymore, with one boy at school and the other wearing hand me downs they don't get much of a look in when clothes shopping anymore laugh.gif

whenever I go to order something online I always do a quick google with shop name and coupon, ie Pumpkin Patch Australia, coupon. I have found so many discounts that way!

tongue.gif I do the same thing - always pays off!

THanks for the suggestions on pants, I will hit DJ's and I always forget to check out Veronica Maine!

Is anyone interested in doing a "daily outfit" description to help inspire? The vogue forum does it and I love reading it. So just a quick post on what you are wearing and what you are doing to put it in context.

So for example, today I am wearing a black and grey striped tube skirt from BigW, grey singlet from Forever New, oversized black linen top from Witchery and a vintage style ruby and diamond pendent necklace.. just dressy casual as we were visiting a friends new shop at a nearby mountain village..

Sounds like a brilliant idea, although mine are all pretty daggy at the moment, but would enjoy getting some inspiration from others.

As I am working from home today in some very cold weather I am currently wearing thermal long pants, plus tracksuit pants, thermal sleeveless top, short sleeve Billabong top and jumper and ugg boots. Does anyone want to copy me tongue.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Tomorrow I will be in the office so will have to resist the tracksuit pants and instead will be wearing my black with a slight grey pinstripe through it pants from Veronica Maine, and dark blue with light blue spots brand new top from Gap, my very old overcoat for the trip in and my knee high heeled boots.

Portmans.

I still have a couple of pairs I bought 5 years ago. The hem has come undone on one of the pairs but in general, they've kept their shape really well.

Great idea for a thread Ali! smile.gif

I love the tunic idea too. I havent found anything yet, but will keep looking. There's a gorgeous knit dress in Portmans at the moment that I have my eye on. I love it in white, but not quite sure if it would be a good colour to purchase with 2 messy toddlers and a K-2 class who are just as messy rolleyes.gif .

Glassons is good. I have a lot of basics from there.

Outfit for the day?? Well, I took the kids to gym this morning and then we've vegged at home so Im dressed appropriately (and probably more daggy than you are Steph! biggrin.gif ) - Target black tracksuit pants, white singlet top from JustJeans, 3/4 red and white striped top from Cotton On and a wool cardy I borrowed from my sister! No idea where its from, its so old the tag has faded! laugh.gif

Penny I get most of my work suits and pants from David Lawrence and Jigsaw. I like the cut and quality of their clothes and they wear/last well.

I used to buy my suits from Country Road but I don't think their quality is as good now. Saba used to have some good work suits too although I haven't bought from them for awhile now. But, might be worth sussing out.

I normally try to wait till the end of season sales or when they do a buy a jacket and get a pants/skirt for free type offer.

My Outfit of the day is:

David Lawrence suit (jacket & pants) in a fine b/w houndstooth type check with a black long sleeved Feathers tshirt underneath, black patent leather belt and mid heel pointy toed boots.
