I was taking Blackmores Conceive Well Gold before we got pregnant and now Blackmores Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Gold. I not long stopped the pregnanct/breastfeeding vitamin because I only stopped BF DD a couple months ago.

Was everyone's bubby planned?

Very much longed for, for nearly 4 years. It has been a looooooong road, and I feel so incredibly lucky to finally be here wub.gif

Not sure why it will be so long on the scan - it makes me 7 1/2 weeks - my doctor's letter says to book at 6 1/2? But they booked for me unsure.gif I will speak to them tomorrow when I get my bloods.

I'm on ifolate, can't stand conceive well's horrible smell/taste! I'd have no hope with it at the moment. I was told to switch from regular folate to the one enriched with iodine - must be the flavor of the month! A couple of years ago it was selenium!

Well, "morning" sickness has officially started!!

Yeh I think I might get some of that ifolate as I saw the size of the Blackmores ones & they r huge!! I struggle taking tablets at the best of time let alone if I'm feeling sick!

SmallMiracle - it's funny that we get excited over being sick! I havnt really experienced anything major yet, so it worries me a little, even tho I know its perfectly normal to not be sick! Hope ur morning sickness doesn't hang around too long!

Hi Girls,

I had my blood test this morning.. so fingers crossed it all comes back ok. Will ring up on Tuesday to find out results.

Also booked into my Obs. I very very nearly missed out... The receptionist told me that he was fully booked out for November sad.gif But then she sneakily asked how certain I was of my due date & was there any chance I could have been due abit later ph34r.gif ... hehe, I told her I had only calculated my date based on my LMP, and so she put me down as being due 1st December, and said that if for any reason my date changes, the Dr will fit me in! I am so grateful to her!! I would have been devastated if I had have missed out!

So how r you all feeling? My symptoms seem to have all but disappeared sad.gif My boobs are hardly sore at all, the cramping/bloated feeling has pretty much subsided, my skin has kinda cleared up a little... I hope it's not a bad sign! Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer to NOT be sick, but you know what it's like.. every little thing makes me worry! I will feel much better once I get the all clear from my results on Tuesday.

Just updating the list to add in my 10week obs appointment... I didn't get offered a dating scan sad.gif How did you girls both manage to get one?

Mine isn't a dating scan - I know exactly when this little one was conceived (5th March). It's a viability scan to confirm the pregnancy smile.gif

Can I ask how much, roughly, your Ob is charging? Mine is about 5k ohmy.gif - wondering if I should shop around some more? This baby sure is a 'dear' little thing! wub.gif

ETA - had bloods again this morning too- I should know in a couple of hours!! Nervous!

Don't let fluctuating symptoms freak you out! A healthy body will try to reach homeostasis - its a good thing that you're adjusting to the hormones! But still, I get it, believe me smile.gif

Good morning ladies.

SmallMiracle - Yay for morning sickness, kind of hehe!

Babybelle - Yeah the Blackmores pills are big, I don't know how I stand them, but I like the qualities they have, so I suck it up. And they carry on to BF too which is great.
Don't stress over symptoms hun. They come and go a lot. Your lil bubby is a strong one, and is being kind to you, ATM lol.
No idea how I got the dating scan, my doctor just suggested it, I had the same with DD. The scan I had the other day was because they thought I was miscarrying, and they asked me to come back in 10 days time (works out to be 12 days cause of weekend) to get a proper date as bub will be bigger and will get to see a heart beat. Might be worth asking about?
Am glad you got booked in. Never know bub could come in December. My DD was 9 days overdue.

Had the nauseous feeling this morning blah. Got my HCG levels back this morning and she said they are on the lower level of normal, so has left a form at the Dr's so I can have another one done on Monday.
I have loads of faith in this lil bubby though. And all my levels have been in the normal range, as well as the scan shows a normal pregnancy too. Yesterday I had no bleeding at all, and today just a little pinkish spotting. GREAT sign biggrin.gif

Do you both plan on BF?

Yay! So glad the spotting is easing - I would be a basket case going through that! (I'm not even exaggerating, lol)

I wonder if it would be easier if we had less info? I think of my grandma who delivered breech twins at 40 weeks naturally - I think ignorance might be bliss!! smile.gif

Definitely would like to try BF, for as long as its making us both happy.

Hehe I was a basket case when it was bright red and a lot.

Yeah I think you are right, ignorance is bliss. My Nan gave birth to my mother who was breech and her twin who came out normal. She didn't even know she had twins until birth! lol

Do twins run in your family? They do in both hubby's and mine. Scary!

I hope to be able to BF this time round. We were very successful last time, and we both loved it! Stopped when she was 14 months old.

SM - I havn't received all of the info in the mail yet, but I think from memory it is about 2.5K. Plus about $100 (maybe a bit more, maybe less, cant remember!) per visit. From what i've heard, most of the Obs in my town are roughly the same price... I'm not in a capital city though, so maybe thats why yours is more expensive? I remember one of my wedding twinnies was from Melbourne & her Obs was 6k I think! To be honest, I so very nearly missed out on getting into my preferred Obs, so I'll be glad to pay anything! haha

Ls Mummy - Yeh, you are right about the tablets being hard to take but worth it. I suppose that sums up the whole of pregnancy really... a lot of things we never thought we could do, until it meant a healthy baby!
I really wish I got a dating scan, but I suppose in hindsight it's probably lucky I didnt... especially if it confirmed my due date as being November, and then I wouldn't be able to get into my Obs! I wonder whether my Dr didn't offer me one cos I knew exactly when my LMP was, and havn't had any bleeding or anything... Suppose I'll just have to hold out for the 12 week one! I've worked out that I'll be 12 weeks on the 10th May.. which is 3 days before Mothers Day wub.gif Will make mothers day extra special if everything goes to plan! smile.gif
So good to hear your spotting has all but stopped!!! Fingers crossed it's a sign of good things to come! smile.gif

Yep, I definitely plan on BFing. I'm realistic that sometimes it doesn't work & is not as glamorous as it's sometimes made out to be (haha), but hopefully it will work for us both & we can have a successful BF relationship! At this stage I would imagine that I would probably stop at around 6-9 months of age though, although that's not really based on anything so it's impossible to predict something like that! laugh.gif blush.gif

Ls Mummy - wowsa about your nan's twin daughters! Would be so strange not realising you have TWO babies, and especially seeing one come out breach & the other not! What a wonder woman she was!

Twins run in my hubbys family, but obviously thats got nothing to do with me having twins as it would only count if it ran on my side so I think I'll be safe! Altho my MIL did see a psychic many years ago (before DH & I were dating) who told her that one day her son would have twin girls with blonde curly hair... and then I showed up a few years later with blonde curly hair & my MIL apparently nearly had a heart attack! haha. My SIL told me about 2 months ago that my MIL told her that ever since she met me she 'knew' I was the one who was going to give her grandchildren and 'knows' I'm going to give her girls apparently... haha.. time will tell I suppose!

I might put some questions out there....

How many kids do you plan on having?

What are you leave provisions like at work & how much time are you having off?

Will you find out what you're having?

When are you going to tell people you're pregnant?

Do you already have nieces/nephews? Or are you the first?

Have you put any thought into a birth plan or what you may/may not like to do?

Any ideas on names?

That's all I can think of right now, but feel free to add more in if you want! smile.gif

Babybelle you're right, probably a good thing that you're not having a dating scan! Will make the 12 week one even more special, and just before Mother's Day wub.gif
I planned to BF for the first 6 months hehe, then 12 months, then we both felt it was time to finish at 14 months.
Wow about your MIL's reading being right, well apart from the twins, so far tongue.gif Would you like twins or would rather not? haha

Question time biggrin.gif I love questions hehe. And would love to hear your answers Babybelle smile.gif

How many kids do you plan on having?
We are planning on this one being our last baby. So just two. wub.gif

What are you leave provisions like at work & how much time are you having off?

I got made redundant at my work place of 7yrs just 8 weeks ago. So I am a full time SAHM. But with DD I had 6 months off then back to work part time. I would have expressing breaks at too.

Will you find out what you're having?
Yes we will for sure biggrin.gif

When are you going to tell people you're pregnant?
The cat is already out of the bag this end. We were just too darn excited smile.gif

Do you already have nieces/nephews? Or are you the first?
We have lot's of nieces and nephews

Have you put any thought into a birth plan or what you may/may not like to do?
I am not to sure on this one. With DD my birth plan was to go all natural, no drugs etc. After 14 hours of labour I couldn't do it anymore with nothing, so I had gas, then pethadine then epidural. My labour was 22.5 hours. So glad I had something!

Any ideas on names?
Not sure on names yet

Are you hoping for either gender in particular?
Hoping for another girl wub.gif but either would be perfect!

Is there any health concerns you have atm that could effect pregnancy in some way?

I have gallstones. And on a longgggg waiting list for removal. They could have an effect on the pregnancy.

Ls Mummy - I definitely would prefer to have only one baby at a time, so I hope it's not twins! hehe. While I think it would be extremely special to have twins, I just think being a mummy is so hard, without doubling everything! tongue.gif Not to mention all the extra risks etc.. I think I'll worry enough with a single pregnancy, let alone a twin one!

Silly me, forgot to answer the questions!

How many kids do you plan on having?
At this stage I'm thinking definitely 2, and maybe a third. I think I would like to feel 'done' at 2, but I just don't know if I will. My head says 2, but I think my heart says 3. Hubby definitely wants 3.. or more.. hehe!

What are you leave provisions like at work & how much time are you having off?

I'm very lucky in that I have amazing leave opportunities at my work, in that I get 6 months full pay Maternity Leave. I plan on taking it 12 months half pay, and then will return hopefully 2-3 days a week. Both our parents have offered us one day of babysitting each, so I'd say that the baby will be one day with each grandparent & one day in day care.

Will you find out what you're having?
Nope! While I think its going to be extremely hard to NOT find out, we are both adamant we don't want to know in advance smile.gif

When are you going to tell people you're pregnant?
Not to sure about this one... Hubby wants to wait until 12 weeks to tell anyone, but I'm not so sure. Actually, I don't mind not telling people until 12 weeks, but I wonder whether I'll be able to hide it that long. Especially as it's my bday in April, and surely our family & close friends will notice somethings up! I have a feeling we will probably tell our parents & siblings at around 8-9 weeks, and then everyone else after 12 weeks. Although would be great if we could hold off until 12 weeks, as my brother lives overseas & will be home around the time of my scan...

Do you already have nieces/nephews? Or are you the first?
Nope. This will be the first grandchild on both sides of our family smile.gif wub.gif

Have you put any thought into a birth plan or what you may/may not like to do?
I havn't really put much thought into it apart from being pretty open minded about it all. I'd like to look into some techniques for staying in control, as from what I've seen/read it's 'easier' to cope with when you are in control of your body. One thing i'm pretty sure of tho is I don't want Gas. I just think it would make me feel sick & completely lose any focus.

Any ideas on names?
We have a couple of names picked out, a few favourites, but nothing really set in stone. I'm pretty sure we have a definite middle name if it's a boy though, given it's special meaning on both sides of our family.

Are you hoping for either gender in particular?
Really don't mind! Initially I thought I would like a boy first, because I think I would be less scared of 'stuffing him up'! Hahah. Surely boys are more resiliant, and I think it would be easier to have a boy as a first child! Not to mention, hubby & I both are from the same family dynamic where it was girl first, boy 2nd, and I just think it would be nice to experience something different tongue.gif Having said that, Im desperate for a daughter at some stage, so at least if I get a girl first then I don't have to worry if the subsequent children are boys tongue.gif

Is there any health concerns you have atm that could effect pregnancy in some way?
Um, not really. I did have some high BP readings at the end of last year when I had my pre-pregnancy check up, but after the Dr did some tests & I took the BP monitor home for 2 weeks to test myself, the Dr diagnosed me with "White Coat Hypertension".. hehe blush.gif which basically means that my blood pressure goes up when I'm in a dr surgery! Not surprising as I've always been abit of a panicker around any sort of authorative figures.. haha.

I'm waiting by the phone for my results, anxiously, so hopefully this will distract me a little!

How many kids do you plan on having?
Ideally we would like two, but we will see what life throws us!

What are you leave provisions like at work & how much time are you having off?
Pretty good - not sure how long paid maternity leave is now, because it has just changed, but I can take up to 7 years LWOP.

Will you find out what you're having?
Probably smile.gif

When are you going to tell people you're pregnant?
A few already know (parents & close family)

Do you already have nieces/nephews? Or are you the first?
First on my side, 5th on DH's

Have you put any thought into a birth plan or what you may/may not like to do?
Nope!

Any ideas on names?
I have hundreds I don't like or could never use! This could be tough, lol!

Argh, hurry up phone!!
