Im looking into an electric breast pump. I currently have an avent manual but this itme around im having alot of trouble pumping - its just not working for me - and I was thinking perhaps I might have more luck with an electric one.

So what brand do you have, and do you like it?

I just bought an avent electric motor, to replace a previous avent electric on its fourth baby. They are grea, I did wonder about getting a medala - but went with what I knew - am really happy with the avent, I find it comfy and wasn't sure if the medala electric home pumps are like the symphony rental whihc I found a bit uncomfortable but still good. I just bought a new electric pump for $50 off avent, so I could use all the old parts.

I have a medela swing and it's good. The plastic around the top is soft and pliable (unlike my Ameda manual) and it is easy to use. It is variable speed and simulates a baby's sucking.

I'm really happy with it. I would recommend shopping around for price - I got mine from chemist warehouse about 3 years ago and they were cheapest at the time.

I hired a Medela Symphony and whilst I HATED pumping, I found it really efficient, especially for twins. Best get a double pump as that will stimulate more milk twice as quickly biggrin.gif

My Medela Swing and I are best friends, even during the day at work. Can't recommend it highly enough. I used a Medela Symphony in hospital to get my milk to come in and they are fabulous, but really only practical to hire, since they're over $2000 o buy a new one.
