Our little man appears to be constipated - lots of screaming thru the night, lots of straining and when we take his nappy off it's quite empty but then he spends the next 10mins with the nappy off finishing the job and his poo seems to have red streaks through it.

I've heard that Gold formulas can cause constipation so about to change to this brands non gold formula.

For those who changed formulas how quickly did u notice a difference in your baby if any? Thought I'd try this before identifying potential dairy intolerance or anything else I should be looking out for.

So much for knowing what u r doing second time around. Some days/nights I feel I have nfi.

Every baby is different, even second-time mums sometimes feel like first-time mums! As an example, my boys had different poos on the same formula - I could even tell which one had pood as their poos smelt different when they were newborns!! blush.gif We originally had the boys on Nan HA Gold + as that's what they had at the hospital. One night we tried them on the Nan Pro (as it's a few $$ cheaper) and it was horrid! Very grainy and the boys just didn't like it at all. We had them on the Nan HA Gold + until they were about 5 months old and then switched to Aptamil Gold + as we get a twin discount. My boys were never constipated on the Nan HA but Lucas sometimes had harder / pellet-like poos and Jacob's poos were green due to the iron content. Once we switched to Aptamil we didn't have any issues at all and the transition was seamless smile.gif I suggest trying the Aptamil Gold + before trying a Pro formula, just from my experience...

Dont be too hard on yourself. I think you could mother 100 children and still be learning something new.

I know with E when we started her on formula we had lots of constipation trouble with $26. Changed to another brand ($MA) and never looked back. We noticed a change pretty quickly.
"It's impossible" said pride.
"It's risky" said experience.
"It's pointless" said reason.
"Give it a try" whispered the heart...
