Hi Everyone,

Just wondering what peoples ideas are for placement of the veil when having an updo....under or above??? and will you put the veil over your face to walk down the aisle?

I think it depends on the hairstyle you will be having. I wore mine very similar to the image you have in your post so that it showed a lot of the style and yet could be removed at the reception. The hairdresser told me if she built the hairstyle on top of the veil it would be in all night.

I didn't wear the veil over my face, I felt too claustraphobic.

I had my hair out but wore the veil over my face until I was at the alter, B took it off and we started the ceremony.

Like chelley said, it depends on your hair style. I also think it depends on the type of wedding too. Under the bun looks more traditional IMO

I think it depends on the hairstyle. I like the one in the pic you posted.

I wore my hair half up half down, and the up part was a bun up quite high, so I had my veil under my bun.

I'd recommend getting a trial of the style you want with the hairdresser before the day anyway, but maybe you can take your veil with you and get the hairdresser to pop it in once your hair is done and try both ways to see which you like best.

I think in the end there's no right or wrong as it really depends on the style, and I have seen it worn both ways and thought they both looked nice, so I would go with whichever you like best.

I wore my hair in a high up do so wore my veil underneath. I took it out before the reception also.

I had a bun that was up quite high so I wore my veil under my hair. I didn't have it over my face either. Wasn't something I wanted to do.

I prefer over the updo. I wore my veil over my face until the kiss- it didn't annoy me at all.

Hada an up do with veil over the hair too, it was a cathedral length with just one layer at the back, not over my face and veil was longer than my dress - and it was taken out during my photos!
