Given that most of us have had our babies now, I thought it might be time to start up this group for anyone who's interested. I know my Mothers Group from when I had Jackson was invaluable to me, especially in the early days when I felt I was swimming in mud most of the time!

I suppose technically I'm not a February mum since I had Ashton in January, but obviously I'm not going to change groups now after spending so long getting to know you all smile.gif

An update on me - we're slowly starting to settle in to life as a family of 4. It's crazy how busy life seems at the moment with a 2.5 year old and a 3 week old to care for! 3 weeks old. Already. Feels like it's going scary fast, but in another way it feels like my beautiful Ashton has been a part of our family forever wub.gif I am totally besotted with my 2 gorgeous boys and luckily, there has been zero jealousy from Jackson. He absolutely adores his little brother and is always trying to kiss and cuddle him, for the most part he is super gentle with him, but being 2 he does get a bit carried away at times when he's with the baby. There's a fine line between not wanting to say no to Jackson all the time, and not wanting him to kill the baby ph34r.gif laugh.gif

I had forgotten just how hard the sleep deprivation is though. Ashton was pretty good but starting on Monday he is feeling a LOT more regularly, every 1-2 hours mostly with some longer 3-4 hour stretches. Hoping it will morph into 3-4 hour stretches as the norm with only occasional shorter stretches. We'll see. had a good night with him last night so am feeling a little more human today. Friday morning I said to DH that I was so tired I could vomit, yesterday I said I was so tired I could murder someone wacko.gif Today I'm back to being half-normal tongue.gif

Anyway hope to see you all join me in here, and still waiting very excitedly for the rest of our lovely babies to arrive wub.gif

Will start a list of our arrivals too, if you want to be added to it, just let me know!

Hello biggrin.gif
I'm SO glad you started this group and SO glad that you decided to remain in the Feb Mummy's group smile.gif

Could you please add me to the list tongue.gif
8 February - Khloe Brooke (Mark$Girl)

Glad to hear that things are going well with you and the boys...and that Jackson is not jealous of Ashton!

I can't begin to explain how much my life has changed for the better since having a daughter....i am totally in love with her and couldn't imagine life without her now wub.gif

As for the sleep deprivation, i have been lucky to only have one baby to contend with so far and have the help of my wonderful husband too....not so sure how i will go on my own once he returns to work though?! unsure.gif Last night before i went to bed, i think i was having a "down moment", just felt really upset and felt like i wanted to cry...i think i am still adjusting to being a mummy!!

Khloe is starting to sleep a little better so far (touch-wood), some nights she goes 3-4hours between feeds, but last night she went from 11pm-4am....i woke up worried that something was wrong with her! Her eye is starting to get a little better...could have been the breast-milk help fix it! She had a bath this morning and now she is having a nap....we might have visitors this afternoon, so hopefully she behaves herself.... laugh.gif

Anyway, better get off this computer and do some things around the house while Miss Khloe is sleeping....i was considering going shopping to soak up some aircon, but we went out yesterday and the shops were CRAZY ohmy.gif

Have a nice Sunday wink.gif

Wow - can't believe we are here in the first 12 months section already - those 9 months seemed to fly by! smile.gif

Everything is going really well for us. Unfortuantly because she was sick E wasnt allowed home with us for the first few days after we brought Jack home, but in a way it was nice to have some one on one time with him, and since she has been home its been wonderful wub.gif She is very good with him and we have only had a few tantrums - usually over her wanting me to do something for her when I'm feeding, but to be honest I expected a harder transition.
I was speaking to a few of my mums teacher friends and one of them said that bringing home a new baby would be, for us, like our husband bringing home a new wife, so thinking in those terms E has been a total angel smile.gif

Jack is also such an easy baby - something I didnt expect - but after E I think I was due for a good bub laugh.gif All he really does is feed and sleep - although he is a little jaundice so once that wears off who knows!

Im managing about 3-4 hours sleep a night between feeds, although last night we had 5 hours which was lovely. Hubby is a big help during the day too (not so much at night lol) so Im not looking foward to him returning to shift work.

I still cant believe how in love with him I am. I had such trouble bonding with E/PND issues etc that I expected the same with him, but I am so happy that Im doing so well. Ive had zero baby blues, and am feeling really strong and healthy. Hope it continues smile.gif

Glad to hear you ladies are doing well. Cant wait to hear more about how you are all settling in.

ETA - feel free to pop me on the arrivals list too - 5 February Jack Arthur (Avery)

Hope everyone is going well!!

Everything is going great around here. I had a meltdown last Wednesday. Mum was here staying while DH was at work, and DH was due home Wednesday night, around 10pm. Mum wa going home around mid-afternoon, and just the thought of being by myself totally overwhelmed me. On the Monday and Tuesday nights Ashton had "arsenic hour" from about 5 until about 9 so the thought of trying to cook dinner, feed Jackson (and myself!), get Jackson showered and into his pyjamas, bottle and settled into bed by myself while Ashton cried and wanted to feed constantly was a terrible thought to me!!

So I was standing in the kitchen silently crying and freaking out. Mum found me there and so said she'd stay until Jackson was settled into bed for the night, and then go home (she lives an hour and a half drive away). So poor mum had to leave for home at 8:30 at night to go home!!

DH left to go back to work again yesterday lunchtime so I had my first night by myself with both boys last night. And...it was fine!!! I cooked dinner while Jackson had his day time sleep, so just had to reheat it. Usually dinner is about 6:30 at our house and bed time at 8. Last night I decided to bring dinner forward to 6 which worked well. We'd just finished dinner when Ash woke for a feed so I fed him and he was a bit unsettled so I just put him in his bouncer in the bathroom while I showered and dressed Jack. Then he wanted another feed so did that while Jackson was having his bottle. Sent DH a text at 7:40 telling him both boys were sound asleep and I was watching My Kitchen Rules eating ice cream and milo! Hoping every night goes so well for me by myself! Think I'll keep dinner at 6 when it's just me here as then if Ash needs attention, I can still get Jackson to bed at a reasonable hour.

Then today I took the boys shopping for the morning and again I was fine!! I'd told myself that if it wasn't going well, I'd just go home but didn't need to so that has given me more confidence too, that I can handle both just fine on my own. Got us out of the house and into the lovely air con at the shopping centre too which was a bonus laugh.gif

It's sad, but I am so proud of myself!! I'd built it up so much in my head, that it was going to be so hard with 2 children by myself and I wouldn't cope - I don't know why I do that!! I'm sure I'm going to have crappy days but I had them with just Jackson anyway so nothing different there!

Am trying to enjoy it all, as Ashton was 4 weeks old yesterday already!! 1 month old on Saturday. That's gone scary quick, before I know it there will be no more baby in this house sad.gif I feel sad about that already, as DH and I have agreed we aren't having any more children. Wish I could slow time down somehow!!

i took Ashton to the baby clinic yesterday too. His last weigh and measure was 2 weeks ago, and in those 2 weeks he put on 990 grams and grew 2.5cm ohmy.gif What a little fatty I have on my hands!! And another reminder to me of just how quickly he's growing up!

Anyway enough about me! I'm off to do some dinner prep now before Jackson wakes up, and hope for a good night!

Hope everyone's babies are behaving themselves and you're all enjoying this beautiful time wub.gif

Hi girls, sorry just a quick update from me.

DS developed jaundice on day 3 but we were discharged (I had asked to stay another night by they said it wasnt high enough for us to stay dry.gif ). So we managed one night at home before a subsequent blood test had DS readmitted....pffft...i could have lived without the stress! Tonight is our second night.

Will be back for personals once we get back home.

Hope everyone is well.

Hi Everyone ive finally made it in here and found you!

How is everyone going? we are ok the last week has been a bit tricky I think Beau is now out of hibernation mode and getting more wakeful at night!

Ive forgotten soooo much but the basics have come back to me

I must say its been a bit of a challenge with Miss Jessica who turns 5 soon and a baby. Shes been so used to just us and all the attention and shes had quite a few meltdowns. This age gap is a bit of a challenge at the moment as she sneaks in and wakes him up alot and also doesnt have a day sleep! so if im busy with Beau feeding etc she will be getting into all sorts of mischief. Im sure we will get there though

CRISIS - Thats horrible I had the same sort of thing happen. Beau had bad jaundice which developed from his subgaleal hemoraghe ( skull hemoragge due to the vacuum) - I really wanted another night as he was only just out of special care and they said really bluntly they wanted the bed. I had to take him back 9am 2 days later for a weigh and blood test - which was not easy for us to manage - wondering if it was worth going private after all.

Louise that sounds awful. I was strongly encourage to leave the night before I did but I refused. I did t feel ready so I was a stubborn old cow and told them I wasn't going anywhere. I too found the older child the more difficult one. Things are settling down a bit now but has been very challenging.

We are all sick in this house. Nothing worse than hearing your tiny baby with a stuffed up nose. I'm upstairs lying in bed while dh is giving him a bottle and I can hear him struggling. Poor little man sad.gif

*tap tap*, is this thing on? tongue.gif

Hope everyone is doing well and settling into a routine (!!)

For those with their second, it's hard going isn't it? I'm finding it tough, but we're getting there...slowly!

Matthew had his 6 week shots yesterday, so we can start going out now...though I'm not sure if I have the energy. The park is just about all I can muster now.

Is everyone getting any sleep? The catnaps are killing me!

Lousie - has Beau's jaundice cleared yet? Matthew's still a bit yellow but the GP wasn't too concerned.

Yay, finally some action on this thread!

Yeah afecay, can believe it's been 3, well almost 4 months now?! Time sure is flying. How many days is your daughter going to kinder? DS1 goes to childcare 2 days a week and they're the days I can manage to grocery shop. Too hard to go out with both of them on my own.

Hope your DD is sleeping well. DS2 is getting there, still crap with day sleeps though, but he's doing 6-7 hours overnight now so I guess I shouldn't complain!

Hi ladies, I'm sorry it's taken me 4 months to get here!!

Kaden was born on 17th February at 5:16am weighing 3.95kg, 53cm long and 36cm head circ. after a 2hr 15mins completely natural drug free labour.

He's a very placid very easy going baby and completely gorgeous too. I was diagnosed with severe post natal anxiety when Kaden was 6 days old after talking to my GP then having a panic attack that afternoon and being taken to E.R. by ambulance where they gave me valium to calm me down. I'm still on anti anxiety medication, but I'm starting to wean to see how I go.

Kaden is rolling from tummy to back, smiling, 'talking' and giggling.

Alex has adapted really well to being an older brother, and he is really gentle, caring and wanting to do lots with Kaden.

Kaden has been sleeping through most of the night for a few weeks now and has a roll over feed at 10pm and doesn't wake again until 5am, sometimes 6am, sometimes 7am.
