Arabella, with my first, I never had a BT, just showed the doctor my POAS. I did get a dating scan as we weren't sure when we conceived so got 'proof' around 7 weeks (but had symptoms for ages so didn't need any proof that time!

I've been getting a few pains here or there but as long as it's not constant cramping you should be fine.

Justwondering, Hello and welcome. My best mate had a miscarriage at 14weeks also and is now... 16 weeks prengnat and has just announced this pregnancy. She was really torn up because it happened after the 'magic' 12 week mark. I wish I had have known this time round and could have been of some support to her in the first few months. Count on us if you need somewhere to vent or worry.

Also, theres 2 appointments there with no names? Whose are they?

Just wondering when you are planning on announcing your pregnancy? And if you'll announce in stages, who will be told when?

We told my parents and DH's parents today. I'd really like to tell 2 of my close girlfriends, but I'll hold off for the time being and see how I feel in another week or so.

Well, I've told my Nov 08 mummies group and everyone on here (DH has no idea ph34r.gif ). I'd really like to avoid telling people til after 12 weeks, have been too many losses around friend and colleagues in the last year so would just prefer to wait. Plus, our collective parents can get annoying so don't really want to tell them til we have to and 12 weeks will be around the Easter holidays when we are visiting them.

This might all go to pot though as I have to take DD to my GP appt tomorrow and that child has sharp ears. Going to my parents this weekend and very worried it will slip. They all know we've been seeing a FS but just not ready to have to confirm yet...

Funky, have we been twins before?...

We have been twins, but not for pregnancy (this was a little while ago too smile.gif).

Welcome JustWondering! I'm sorry to hear you've had a rough journey. I can't imagine how hard it must be to have a loss at that stage sad.gif. I was reluctant to join a group yet too, but like you, decided that what will be will be!

I told my parents and SIL/BF on the weekend, but that will be all until we hit the 8 week mark at which point I'll tell my sisters, PIL & BIL. My friends can wait till after our first scan, whenever that is.

AFM Feeling like crap today. I've got a sore throat, nausea and have been sleeping badly the past few nights. Anyone else having trouble sleeping? I don't remember it starting this early with DD wacko.gif. Hopefully it'll pass soon.

Then I do know who you are!

No sleepless nights here yet thank goodness, just more 'gentle' cramps. Have just picked up DD from daycare as she has the runs. Watching daytime tv while she sleeps and I'm having cravings. Not pregnancy ones, just Food Channel ones wink.gif

Thank you for your kind words. smile.gif I really don't know how some women surivive late term miscarriage and still births. It must be utterly horrific. Us poor women have to go through so much at times!

Well, back from the GP and more appointments to add to the list...

Due Dates
5th Oct - Arabella
6th Oct - CookiesandCream
9th Oct - JustWondering
13th Oct - Windsor
13th Oct - FunkyMonkey

Appointments
FEB
9th - CookiesandCream, GP appt to get referrals
11th - FunkyMonkey - 1st GP appt
17th - JustWondering - 6 week scan
23rd - Windsor, ultrasound with FS (my Birthday!)

MARCH
7 Mar - Arabella, Obs appointment
8th - Windsor, Obs 1st appointment

I've actually fibbed a little with the GP. Was meant to have bloods today at lunch and had a late GP appt. Usually they do rush bloods for the FS and I figured she'd get to call me back before I went to the GP. Had to pick up DD sick from school as I said so didn't get there... But I've got 3 +ive POAS and no period! Last time with DD I did no blood test, none of the routine antenatal screens or anything.

I was recommended an obs on the basis of I didn't want anyone giving me a csect 'just because I'd had one before'. The GP actually started writing a referral to someone else until I said that. The Obs he has given me has extensive overseas and Aus experience in rural and remote areas so hopefully VBAC friendly.

AND I get to have ultrasounds twice in two weeks!

And lucky you getting 2 ultrasounds like that!! I'm jealous! I won't be getting one for another 8 or 9 weeks sad.gif.

Having the same issues here. I've been feeling nauseous and have gone off coffee the last few days but I'm not sure if that's MS or this head cold I've got. This pregnancy is quite different to my first one already!

17th - JustWondering - 6 week scan

AFM DH has given me permission to tell his parents on Friday when I drop DD off. They'll be so excited! And I've also got a date to tell the rest of my family too. We'll be 7 weeks by then so a pretty good time to tell them.

Only 1.5 weeks till our family portrait shoot and our week holiday!! Can't wait!! biggrin.gif

FM, what blood results are you waiting for? Tracking HCG or something else?

I went to get my BT this morning but didn't get there til about 930am so might have missed teh first collection and have to wait til tomorrow sad.gif

And home from work with DD today so went to DFO to get some homewares stuff and ended up with maternity and baby clothes too!

A jumper, knitted shrug/cardi, flowy beaded shirt and plain sleeveless top that can all be worn as mat wear from Just Jeans outlet for $75! Last time round I had a couple of pairs of maternity pants, a belly belt and generally wore normal shirts a size larger. Stil have some stuff put away so just adding to that.

And I got a cute little red jumpsuit with white elephants all over in 0000 and a set of 3 size 0 onesies with giraffes, stars and 'hug me'. Spoke to my BF the other night, she's due in July and not finding out yet the gender but moaning about how she can't buy anything cause it's all plain white or teddies and she's got heaps of that. Have to give one of the things I bought to her but can'd decide which!

Winsor I haven't even been near the shops for baby stuff yet! I'll go too mad I think. That red onsie with the elephants sounds so cute!

I've got a fair bit of maternity clothes still from when I was pregnant with DD so I'll just wait and see how I go. Most of it is summery rather than winter though.

As for my bloods, the doc is checking HCG, iron, rubella, etc etc. He wanted to do a full blood work up to make sure there's nothing there that could harm the baby. My arm is still hurting from the damn test this morning because I was dehydrated and my blood wasn't flowing very quickly. Must remember to drink more water next time I go for a BT.

Hi all - am curious to know if anyone else is not experiencing any nausea at all?

I have only sore-ish boobs and a bloated tummy at this stage. Wondering where on earth the sick feeling is?! I know it's silly to want to be sick but can't help but worry huh.gif I am 5w2d so super early but it's making me a bit anxious!

Thanks, Carly

A few things I read online said it kicks in around six weeks, as your HCG levels build up more. That's my memore from last time anyway.

Speaking of HCG, the FS called this morning when she got my results in, HCG level of 1080 for 4w4d which is pretty high and Prog of 99 which is 3x the min level. So fingers crossed there's not two hiding in there I think!

I still don't really have any symptoms. Felt a bit off last night and very bad insomnia. Fine to crash out on the lounge but can't sleep once I get up and go to bed!

I have been having trouble sleeping and it's uncomfortable already. With my last pregnancy I slept on my belly till around the halfway mark, This time it already feels weird to sleep on my belly.

The food channel is evil!!! Good luck with the Ob's and yay for two ultrasound!

With my first pregnancy I didn't have much nausea at all. I didn't get any morning sickness until around 7 weeks and it was more like a fuzzy feeling in my head rather than nausea. I wouldn't worry you may just be one of those lucky ones who won't get sick at all.

AFM I had the GP appointment today and got my referral for the hospital so I will book in tomorrow, though I am still undecided if I will go through the midwife program or not. He sent me off for the routine bloods (I wasn't expecting that as it didn't happen last time) and then the nurse and doctor spent the next 40 minutes prodding my arms, wrists, hands and feet trying to find a vein (I have the most horribe veins to get blood from). In the end they couldn't find a vein so I still have to have bloods done. I asked for a dating scan referral as well and he wouldn't give me one saying they couldn't be performed until 9 weeks which is so not true mad.gif I might actually have to wait until twelve weeks to have my first scan which is not good for little old impatient me laugh.gif

I feel like a nana lately as well, I've been exhausted.

Hope everyone is travelling well smile.gif

Carly I don't have any symptoms except insomnia, occasional headaches and dizziness. I'm pretty sure my MS kicked in after the 5 week mark last time though so I'm hoping I feel a little ill next week tongue.gif.

Windsor that sounds like great levels! At least you don't have to worry about this one being sticky or not! Lets just hope it's not 2 sticky babies laugh.gif .

Cookies I hope they didn't prod around too much trying to find a vein. I hate BT's at the best of times so the quicker they're over the better IMO.

Why won't the doc let you go for a dating scan? I don't see the problem if you want it done. I won't be getting a scan till later either sad.gif . I'm going to try and see if I can book in for around 10/11 week mark because I'm super impatient and can't wait to hear that little HB!!

AFM I'm still so exhausted. But I'm looking at my insomnia as a good sign because we're all experiencing it and it means I'm still pregnant tongue.gif . I'm feeling really confident about this pregnancy, but it's still in the back of my mind that I might lose it.

On a good note, I told my MIL this morning and she's pretty excited. I think she twigged on before I'd actually told her because I asked if she'd be going anywhere in October and her face started to light up. This is #4 in 2 years for them so they're doing pretty well!

Are you hoping for a particular sex?
On one hand I'd love another girl for 2 reasons - 1) DD is the only girl grandchild for my parents (they have 5 grandsons) and 2) DH & I could really see ourselves with 2 daughters and would love it.

But on the other hand I'd love a boy because then we get to have one of each which would be pretty awesome.

So basically, I'd lean more towards another daughter if I was pushed to answer either way, but would be extremely happy with a boy too.

I had a whole series of them done when we first saw the FS, 7 vials! I need all the blood I can get!

MS really kicked in this morning. No vomiting but just feeling nauseous until after lunch. Yay. We went to buy a new car and I just had to keep sitting down and burying my head, not a feeling I miss!
