Let's discuss!

(And let the Jennifer bashing begin tongue.gif )

Can't write too much now - have small terror on the loose.

However, I'm loving this!

Up til now, I have watched every.single.episode of every season there has been of The Biggest Loser. I missed the boat this year, and decided that rather than sitting there bitching and moaning about petty people and bad production values, I'd switch channels and sit there bitching and moaning about petty people and bad production values while watching lovely food being prepared instead biggrin.gif ph34r.gif biggrin.gif

Jenn is blink.gif although has some serious smarts as a cook. I'm pleasantly surprised by how nice/generous etc. the other contestants have been - people seem happy to take the food on face value, and, for now, are not playing strategically!

oh yeah, I also decided not to start watchig TBL this year as every other year it's driven me nuts! I've never watched MKR before but the ads looked interesting so thought I'd give it a go.

As much as Jennifer drives me nuts, I think the WA girls are a bit too bitchy. Not too keen on Thomas either, he seems a bit up himself.

Love the Greek brother and sister team and would like to see more of the army guys, but the other louder personalities seem to get more air time.

Was really hoping the girls last night were going to totally bomb out, but their first 2 dishes did look really nice. Have no idea how anyone can bomb on dessert, dessert is the easiest thing to get right. Like the WA girls, it was just brownies and ice cream. But glad they did so their score came down.

We've always been big MKR fans.

I have to agree with both of you so far! I think Jennifer is very up herself and rude. But on the other hand, she seemed to know what she was doing food wise last night. I personally stuff up desserts ALL the time so I can sympathise with them on that one! (I killed a basic chocolate self saucing pudding last night even though I have made it perfectly a dozen other times blush.gif laugh.gif) I really quite like Leigh though, so while I'd be happy for Jennifer to bomb out, I'd be sad to see Leigh go! I think they are opposites personality wise - funny how they get along so well! Leigh seems to have only nice things to say about everyone and seems genuine to me.

I agree that the WA girls seem very bitchy - they weren't too bad when it was their turn the other day, but gosh, they were mean last night! Thomas can be a bit up himself too I think...Will be interesting to see how they go...I love the greek siblings, they seem so genuine and lovely. And the army guys seem nice too. I think the greek siblings are my favourite team so far though! The Kiwis seem nice, but too much NZ versus AU talk going on there for my liking! I don't mind a bit of that old rivalry stuff, but it seems like they never talk about anything else but the fact that they are from NZ and they are going to beat the Aussies! rolleyes.gif

I love MKR and have watched every episode so far!

I really don't like Jennifer and was seriously hoping she'd fail miserably last night but sadly no! So glad they didn't get the top spot though. I like just about everyone else except not a huge fan of the guy from the "just freinds" team - can't think of his name! There's nobody who I absolutely cant stand though, not like Melanie from Melanie and James last year ph34r.gif

Can't WAIT for the soldiers to cook since I'm from Townsville and so are they so am definitely looking forward to that! I'm surprised they're people from Townsville and not Brisbane as it has been every other year, only in the capital cities.

Looking forward to tonight's episode!!

Hear hear. I have no idea how Leigh puts up with her. Jennifer is trying too hard to be a food critic but she doesn't know what she's talking about (says me who has a silly food blog herself).

I'm not surprised that they stuffed up the dessert dish. It's clear that Jennifer is the brains behind the cooking, and is inspired by her mum's Thai background. Most Asian cuisines don't emphasis dessert but rather mains. Loved the idea behind their cake though.

Is Thomas the guy from the VIC best friend team, the guy that clearly has a crush on the girl? Don't like him, he seems really bitchy.

I'm really liking the army guys and also the brother and sister that cooked the first night. They seem genuinely nice and fair.

Also looking forward to what the NZ team produce. I was surprised how delicious the food was when I visited NZ - not only fresh but creative - better then a lot of places I've tried here. I don't like the Aust vs NZ rivalry though.

Im pretty sure they would have been told to talk like that by the shows producers to get the aussies worked up and watching the show.

I'm very over the Kiwis, and I'm a Kiwi!

Does anyone else here watch Gavin and Stacey? If so, do any of the contestants of MKR remind you of any G&S characters?!

What is it with people not knowing how to operate an oven?!

We love the show. Generally I am over reality TV but hubby and I both love food so MKR is safe LOL.

Can't stand Jennifer, and honestly it seems like her friend can't stand her sometimes too, anyone else notice this?

Thomas and Carla aren't sitting well with me at the moment either. They are OK sometimes and then other times just a bit too catty.

I can't stand the NZ v Aus thing - why does it have to be like that, it really shits me, but don't have any issue with the NZ couple, felt bad for them last night.

I love to cook (well not so much right now with first trimester tiredness and nausea happening) but things really can go wrong so easily when the pressure is on - would be nerve wracking.

Jennifer said some very mean things last night (I have a feeling she hasn't been to NZ before - judgement much?).

I was disappointed with the food last night. The entree looked sophisticated, but the rest wasnt out of the ordinary. Also think that it isn't a good idea to cook something that the intended audience are very familiar with - of course they will critique it strongly - they know what to expect (like me and Japanese food smile.gif )

I felt bad for them and hope they pick up later in the show. Looking forward to tonight's show!

DH and I too love to cook (and cole29, I couldn't stand even being in the kitchen in the first trimester - blurg). DH is wonderful but doesn't do well under stress, so good point. Im not so bad, but i dont tend to measure things so wouldnt be great in this environment i guess. Need nerves of steel!!

I did feel a bit bad for the kiwis last night, not their fault that things turned out so badly. I think it was a bad choice to make pavolva full stop. Even if the pav had turned out nice it still wouldn't have looked that great, it was a very ordinary looking pav.

Thomas is such a wank and I think I almost hate him more every time he speaks. And Jennifer was so rude last night belittling Kiwis. Yes, there is a love hate relationship between Oz and NZ, but you don't fully rubbish them. Funny jokes like the army guys said was alright, but there is a line that you can cross.

Last night I said to DH that I wanted to smack him in the face. DH now thinks I'm an angry pregnant woman happy.gif

I can't wait to see what food he produces, I want to know if he's as good as he think he is. Even Manu got annoyed at him last night.

I hope Thomas and Carla burn their kitchen down, they're pretty gobby and I wish they'd just shut the hell up!
I really like Steve (of Helen and Steve), I think he struggles to say a bad thing which is nice.
And I like the army guys, seem pretty down to earth...

Can't wait to watch tonight!
