Hi all! We have come down to 2 names for our 2nd boy, Jacob and Ethan. DS1 is telling everyone bubs name is Jacob lol and we seem to be leaning that way too. Next problem is middle name. DS1's middle name is DH's name and I want something meaningful for DS2. I would like William after my dad but DH isn't keen. Another option is Lee. I figure I can be part of it then as my first name is Emma-Lee and DH's middle name is Lee.

So, what are your thoughts on Jacob Lee?? Does it sound a bit..... funny?

Thanks

I think Jacob Lee is a good name, I don't think it sounds funny at all. I have a friend called Jason Leigh and have never thought that sounded bad.

I think Ethan Lee doesn't sound quite right though, although it doesn't sound like it's a serious contender anymore anyway.

ETA - just noticed your ticker! 4 days to go - how exciting!!! Wishing you all the best for the birth :-)

I think it is fine as a middle name and a nice connection. I agree that Jacob lee sounds better than Ethan Lee

Jacob Lee sounds ok, but personally I prefer Jacob William ...

I think your DH already has one child's middle name and I think it quite reasonable for you to tie your next child's name to your family, if that is what you wanted to do smile.gif

Em, I didn't know you were having another boy. Congratulations smile.gif

I think Jacob Lee sounds fine. I prefer Jacob William though and like that it has connection to your side of the family. Brayden already has DH's name as his middle name so it would be nice to use a name from your side of the family as I presume the boys have DH's surname.

So excited for you!

I was going to say the same as the ladies above. I think Jacob William sounds lovely, and I think it would be nice to have both sides of the family honoured.

If it were me, I personally wouldn't want Lee as the middle name for my son, as then you, your hubby & DS2 would have Lee in your name, but not DS1. Just my opinion.

Best of luck for the birth smile.gif

I think Jacob Lee sounds nice.

Liam comes from William, what about Jacob Liam. Kinda sounds like Lee. Just a thought.

I love William, but Lee is okay too.

I do think Babybelle has a point with this though

What's your dad's middle name? Or your grandfathers' names? Are there any family surnames you could use?

I agree with Babybelle's points! I also think that as DS1 has DH's first name for his middle name, a middle name from your side of the family is only fair. If it were me I'd tell DH he got DS1's middle name, so I get DS2's! ph34r.gif

Personally, I think one, it's a middle name, not a first name, it won't be used all the time, so if its not his favourite name, is it really that big an issue? I only say this because the name you want is your dad's name so it has special meaning and is not just a name you like IYKWIM. And two, William is a really lovely name, and goes really nicely with Jacob!

I think Jacob Lee is nice, it doesn't sound funny to me, but I do like William, and I think I like it more because it is your dad's name.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I agree with them all. Lol. Bub is being delivered today by c-section, so I guess we need to make a decision soon!
My dads middle name is John, so doesnt work with Jacob. My thought on lee was that this is our last child so a way of getting part of me in there.
Will let you know what we decide!

How about Jacob Emmett? It's a bit Twilight, but that connection won't last long and it's a play on your name. Or Jacob Emmerson?

Anyway, you are probably giving birth right now! I hope everything goes smoothly for you!
