Thought I'd bite the bullet and create an August thread! As I said to DH last night, I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but I'm kinda excited!!

Since my first BFP on Wednesday, I have done 6 HPT's! Out of control doesn't even start to describe me, but I'm kinda addicted to those 2 lines! My last one was a digital test which indicated that we conceived 1-2 weeks ago, but according to my last AF I should be 2 weeks and 3 days. But I guess it's just a guideline. And it was probably about 2 weeks before my BFP that we last BD'd anyway!

I have noticed quite a few symptoms already, although some are psychological I'm sure! Waves of nausea have kicked in at all hours of the day - if I don't eat every 3 or so hours I get a funny feeling in my stomach and have gagged a few times, but am finding rice crackers are a god send! I also have absolutely no desire to eat chocolate, whereas before hardly a day would go by where I didn't "need" some (read "a lot of") chocolate!

I am not sleeping very well - I have pretty much see 4am for the last 4 mornings and can't get back to sleep - but this could be due to the excitement of it all! And I am pretty much exhausted every day when I get home from work, but that isn't unusual for this time of the school year for a teacher anyway. I am still managing to haul my butt off the couch to make dinner, which includes a heap of vegies and lean proteins - trying to get as much nutrients into my body while I can, just incase the nausea becomes full blown morning/all day sickness!

I've also had a few "brain fart" moments, but to be honest it's not unlike me to say and think stupid things sometimes!

Anyway, enough of my rambling. I'm hoping lots of others August mummies will be along to join me soon.

I'll join you biggrin.gif wub.gif

I'm pretty sure #2 will make an entrance somewhere between the 5th - 9th August.

I have some symptoms - feeling 'icky' but not actual nausea, and exhaustion. Some twinges (which I remember being very concerned about last time!) but generally feeling pretty good. A little more emotional this time, too ph34r.gif laugh.gif

VERY excited to be on this journey wub.gif

According to an online pregnancy calculator, my due date is the 8th August.

Some twinges (which I remember being very concerned about last time!)

I have been a little concerned about the twinges, but did read that it is normal, and they are just twinges, not a constant ache like AF is, so I'm trying not to stress about them!

I'm off to a family do - the first of many where I need to disguise/brush off the fact that I'm not drinking or eating certain foods!! Eeeek!

Have you told anyone yet? I know some people feel comfortable telling immediate family straight away, but DH and I are a little more cautious. As this will be my parents first grandchild, DH thinks it would be a good idea to tell them first and in person when we see them in Februrary - yes February!! How can I wait that long??? I've only known for 4 days and I'm bursting to share the news!! But on the other hand, I will be past my first trimester, have had my first scan and the "riskiest" stage will be behind us!

Hope you are feeling okay today.

biggrin.gif I have all my fingers and toes crossed we have some more members join us, too!

I'm not 100% sure when I O'd, but I found out with my DD on the 30th on November (2009) and *my* EDD for her was 7th August 2010, the dating scan only changed that to the 9th, and she was 5 days over (came on the 14th). So taking all of that into account, with this little one I found out on the 25th of November (and BFP was same shade as BFP with my DD) so if I gestate the same time/rate, minus a day or two because *usually* second babies come sooner than first babies (well, old wives' tale laugh.gif ) then I'm guessing sometime between the 5th - 9th biggrin.gif I might even tell people it's the same day as my DD's birthday, so I don't get 'had the baby yet' questions wink.gif

We've told my parents, brothers, my PILs and BILs and GMIL - and my two best friends. Pretty much just family and the people I'd rely on for support (touch wood). Last time we told everyone at 5 - 6 weeks, as we were living away from them all (interstate) and wanted to tell them in person - and it wasn't likely that we'd be able to tell them in person until I was obviously showing, if we'd waited. This time we've only told a select few, and will keep the news to ourselves for a bit longer. My DD was the first grandchild on both sides, and first great-grandchild on my side. This one will be second grandchild for both sides, and second g-grandchild on my side (again), as none of either of our brothers have, or are close to having, any children.

Have you thought about 'how' you'll tell them? How exciting - I'll bet they'll be thrilled.

I had a nap yesterday arvo, which I think did more bad than good - I felt refreshed when I work up, but was in bed by 9:30pm, absolutely exhausted! I think I might just 'rest' rather than sleep, when I get tired mid-afternoon. My m/s was more food-aversion than nausea last time, and that's what it feels like now, too - but I'm hoping to head it off at the pass with ginger tablets and ginger-and-lemon cordial. How are you feeling? Any tiredness, m/s?

As for food in general, we had a dinner party (gathering?) to go to tonight, where I'm glad my mum knew, as she prepared food keeping my needs in mind, so no-one would notice what I did/didn't eat. Same with my MIL - for Christmas, she'll know what I can and can't eat, so will make sure there's enough variety so it's not obvious what I'm not eating.

I remember being very concerned about the twinges last time, and googled like mad - only to be reassured that it's all normal wink.gif rolleyes.gif This time I'm much more relaxed, which is nice. Boobs are getting bigger, and more sensitive - which isn't so nice, as I'm still bfing my daughter. Luckily she's not a biter! I was curious to see if being pregnant would make her refuse bfing, as it can (changes the taste of the milk, apparently) but nope - she still loves it.

Am both trying to make a list of what we need for #2 and stopping myself with 'wait until after Christmas!' laugh.gif I'm so excited, but I have to keep reminding myself that I still have ages yet to organise everything. laugh.gif

Hope you are traveling well!

Yay! Hello and welcome deja vu!! Congratulations on you BFP. This is my first too - how exciting is it all?? I agree that Christmas will make hiding it tough. We are hopefully going to be able to make it to week 14ish before we tell anyone as we want to tell my parents first and I won't be seeing them in person until then.

We will be seeing my parents for my Dad's birthday, so the plan is to give him a card that says, "Happy Birthday Grandad!" and put the 12 week scan photo inside - and just make sure Mum is around when he opens it! Then for DH's side, I'm thinking of asking our neice to tell her mum that she's going to be an aunty and maybe tell the grandparents that she's going to have a baby cousin!

I survived my first family do today, but realised just how hard it is to order something off a menu that we can safely eat! I avoided the salads as I didn't know how well they would be washed, avoided all chicken dishes as I didn't trust that they would be cooked properly and almost went the lamb cutlets, but then when I considered the fact it would have to be well done I didn't think I'd enjoy them!

AFM - I'm just feeling bouts of nausea. Had a hard time getting through my piece of toast for breakfast. I've also noticed a few "dumb" moments where I'm not thinking clearly - surely it's not "baby brain" yet? DH thinks it's going to be fun seeing me do and say stupid things over the next 8 months! I'm also a little tired, but that could have a lot to do with not sleeping all that well, probably the excitement of it all!

Looking forward to getting to know you both better!
