Gosh I feel slack. Nina is nearly 2 years 8 months and we really haven't given it a good go.
I keep waiting for the weather to warm up!
I know when she is pooing as it's in private under the dining room table.
She has done a few wees on mums toilet but hates the potty at home.
I've bought a step and insert for here which she has sat on for novelty.
I am off for 2 weeks over Xmas so have told dh to get ready as we'll be giving it a red hot go.

Again though, I'm kind of assumed she will be 3 in April and it's not sorted.

Nomes, nina is pretty strong headed like Soph, maybe skip the step and potty? go straight to big toilet??!! Much easier cause then your only 'training' them once.

Mon, don't worry, we are still trudging along here, and probably will be for a few more months (despite how much I'd like a toilet trained toddler for Christmas!).

I thought I could use the baby as a 'See, you can be a big boy and wear undies' but it's backfired and he prefers to wear nappies just like the baby rolleyes.gif wacko.gif

DS is 3 and it's been hit and miss for us too. He doesn't mind weeing on the potty (downstairs) or toilet (upstairs), though we've had a few accidents too....on the sofa! wacko.gif

Poos he flat out refuses...even goes so far as to get a nappy for me and tells me to put it on him so he can do it. I try to get him to do it on the potty, but he just holds it in...so I've given up on that for now.

Going rate for us is:
Wees: 1 smarties and 1 stamp on his chart
Poos: 5 smarties 2 stamps and a sticker (and still no interest!!)

As lame as it sounds I'm glad I'm not the only one without a TT 3 year old yet (most of the kids in my mother's group are TT now blush.gif )

I just thought I would share our story as inspiration for anyone considering trying their little ones. I wrote about Ethan on page one of this thread. Well the first week of October came around and I tried him. He was 2y 10m.

The plan was to be at home the Mon, Tues, Wed, see how he went for 3 days, provided he understood the going to the toilet thing, Thurs he would go to daycare in undies.

I put him in undies at home and hoped for the best. The first day was long. Prompting him every 10/15 min of the day, trying to keep curious Lucas out of the toilet, trying to show Ethan patience and not stress him out or upset him. He has very limited speech so it was about picking a few sounds/words he would use.

Monday morning in undies after breakfast, he loved running to the toilet and not weeing, he had about 4/5 accidents before lunch time the first day, hated being in wet undies. I made it no big deal, we go to the toilet to wee let's put some dry undies on. By the afternoon on day 1 he was saying wee and racing to the toilet, couple of days later it was 'biggg wee'. He wouldn't poo on the toilet for the first 3 days, however since day 4 where I picked him up from daycare, he had pooed and weed on the toilet all day, and since then hasn't pooed in his undies.

He has basically night trained himself. smile.gif I was putting him in a pull up nappy at lunch for his sleep, and at night just before bed. He was previously almost wetting through a Hugg!es in 9/10 hrs over night. Now he goes to the toilet before his sleep and when he wakes up, and at night goes into undies, he does wake up around 10pm and 2am to wee, and then at 5 to start his day. No wet sheets! smile.gif

I feel so lucky it's been a breeze, I don't know why I was so worried, I should have given him more credit that he had picked up what to do and was waiting for me to give him the chance to go to the toilet. He was the 2nd last to get trained at MG, yet he's the only one that goes over night in undies (his choice). smile.gif I do know this may not last forever and he may regress, however I am taking these huge steps as something positive.

We haven't had a wee or poo accident since day 3, that was nearly 8 weeks ago. smile.gif

My 2.5 yr old DS is going against the norm and is totally toilet trained for poos but not wees! He will use the potty for wees if he's nude at home but if he's in undies he always wets them? Its been 3 weeks now and although Im really pleased that he's mastered the poos I'd love for him to get the undies idea soon. I certainly don't mind having him nudie around the house but it must means that whenever we got out he has to wear a nappy and it feels like all our hard work is then going backwards. Oh well, I guess we'll just keep plodding along. Someone suggested (as did our daycare teacher) that DS wear shorts but no undies. I'll be giving that a go over the next few days. Wish me luck!
