hi all

most of you know that im separated but the time has come for the divorce to happen in about a month and im now getting scared. i learnt the other week the neighbour is talking to my ex and that they are still friends. that frightens me because of the fact my ex threatened to kill me and family members.

My friends tell me its ok what can he do its not like you have a house or kids that he could screw you over with etc. A friend of mine told me i should move but i have a lease til next feb and with rent the way it is where would i go???

I dont know now i suppose because its only a month away im getting nervous and scared but the fact he lives in another state gives me some peace of mind but still all i wanna do right now is throw up sad.gif

I am so sorry to hear you're having a rough time, the first thing I would suggest is to contact the local police and your real estate agent, just to give them a heads up, and then I would see if there is any way you can get out of your lease early if you really want to move, they might have someone available to take over the remainder of your lease.

Don't be scared, be strong and brave, you are obviously doing the right thing by getting the divorce, I can kind of understand how you are feeling, though my ex didn't threaten me, he was very manipulative in the relationship and the sooner it was over the better, to start a fresh new and happy life. You totally deserve it.

Keep your head high, because you can't see the stars looking at the ground smile.gif

Exactly this - in Feb you will need to move anyway, bring it forward and think of it as a new start! I am positive you can get out of your lease. If you feel like you could throw up now, then it is worth spending a little bit of money to get a wonderful new place where you ex and your neighbour don't know where you live. He has made a really serious threat, you deserve to feel safe and as much as you shouldn't have to move, maybe bringing it forward would be a good idea! Do you need to put an address on paperwork? That might be worth thinking about options, surely you don't need to? Just something I am thinking about.

All the best!

I don't think you do have to file with your address, especially in cases where there has been threats, just a thought too, put your current address down, and forward your mail...
