I had the same problem with my lid at the beginning too (posted in this thread actually) and it has loosened up and now isn't a problem. You need to make sure you twist the lid further than you realise. If it doesn't let you start the machine, just unlock and relock the lid again.

I haven't made the lasagna sauce yet in the machine because I always make heaps too. I just used the thermomix to chop everything and mince the meat then cook it on the stove. I add lots of extra vegies in mine so there is no way it would fit.

Starting to get organised with it now and finding recipes online and in the book as I go along. I haven't had my delivery demonstration yet so there are some things I don't really know..

How do people get the most out of the steamer (is that the varoma?) I made rice with chicken and vegies and that was great but also wondering can I cook something in the bowl and cook rice on top or would that mean that it would be too hot for whatever is in the bowl?

I am doing the 12WBT so also trying new recipes from that and seeing what I can transfer - Thelma, just posted in the forum thread smile.gif

The bolognaise sauce is smaller than I usually make too, but I made just made two batches - it pretty much cooked itself while I served up our dinner and tidied the kitchen, the ease of washing up sold it for me!

I love the Quirky Cooking site too. So many great, healthy ideas.

Does anyone have the "In the Mix" cookbook by Dani Valent? I bought it over a year ago and promptly put it away as it was all far too complicated for my state of mind at the time. However, I've recently rediscovered it and am loving it! Using the TMX for these quite complex, multi process recipes has been a total revelation. I served the Caramelised white choc mousse with passionfruit curd and coffee crumb the other night for dinner and my guests loved it. So if anyone is looking for a book that's a bit different from the standard TMX fare it's definitely worth having a look at.

I ordered one last week after much deliberation. We went the interest free option, and bad new is that it will be in hubby's name so need to stay with him for at least another 2 years.

Impaitently waiting for it to arrive.

Is there any felicity in the world superior to this?

Yay! How exciting! I still find it amazing how much it has just slipped into my everyday routine. Have you been scouring the forums deciding what you will make first?

yay, exciting! Like Camilla, it's become an essential kitchen appliance. My SIL was umming and ahhing about getting one and I considered loaning her mine for a week but I started having heart palpatations at the thought of not having it!

So, what's some lovely winter recipes that everyone has been whipping up lately? I've become a little uninspired lately when it comes to planning meals.

Soup for lunch today! Mum was in the car on her way and I popped it on. It was ready when she arrived! Perfect! It is usually busy making bolognaise or chilli con carne. Parsley sauce for the slow cooked corned beef and I blitzed up veggies to hide in the chicken enchiladas two nights ago. Very handy when you have a child who refuses to eat coloured things!
