Hi mummies!!

I thought that seeing as though it's now officially July, it was time to open our new cafe. I think we should probably keep using our "due in" thread until we have all popped, just so no one gets left out, but I'm not really sure how it works so feel free to do otherwise!

yay :-) we're officially allowed to be here now ;-)

Let's hope all the rest of the July babies are nice to their mummies and come soon too - fashionably early is all good, but fashionably late just doesn't cut it in the world of pregnant mummies! C'mon babies! We're all impatient to meet you!!

Hey Karly. I just wanted to let you know that you (any anyone else, sorry I have been a bit off the radar of who has had their bub already) are more than welcome in the June thread, however I understand that you may want to stay in July too.

We just kept posting in our pregnancy thread until the last of us popped, then we moved over just to make it easier.

Congratulations to you all, I look forward to seeing all your babies arrive and wish you all nothing by happiness with your babes in your arms wub.gif

Goodmorning everyone! Anyone else awake at this crazy hour with me?

I've got one hungry, hungry hippo on my hands tonight. My milk is just about to come in, I can feel it, and I think he knows it too- he's suddenly gone to wanting to feed CONSTANTLY. It's exhausting, and I'm really glad that I know this ends...I remember feeling so frustrated and last time. I've also invested in a good nipple cream this time around. I'm using Lanisoh (or something). It's expensive- does anyone else have anything to recommend?

In general, he's been a real trooper. Eating, sleeping, pooping as per usual. He's lost a little bit of weight as is normal, and fingers crossed he'll just put it straight back on once my milk gets in. I'd forgotten how black and sticky baby poo is...ugh. It's so frustrating to change his nappy!

I'm sure I've got a bazillion other stories to tell and questions to ask, but my mind is hitting a blank wall right now. Very grateful for full episodes of TV on the internet, it's what's getting me through. My husband actually downloaded the first season of Game of Thrones and we've been going through that, I keep getting tempted to wake him up so we can watch some more ph34r.gif . I know I'll regret that in the morning when my toddler wakes up and he doesn't want to get up to him!

Anyway, I should get back and do the other side, just spending a few precious moments letting the boy sleep on my lap in between feeds. Then I'm going to try and get some sleep...he's been feeding since about 10:30pm non stop. Yawn!

Our list so far......

Morning! I'm up, Amy!! I also have a hungry hippo tonight. He's been in bed with me doing lay down feeds pretty much all night. And I'm not sure why, but all of a sudden after 4 weeks of perfect feeding, my nipples are beginning to get really sore sad.gif
Maybe try Lucas' Paw Paw ointment instead of Lansinoh. It's magic!

My boy has just fallen asleep, so I'm going to try to get a bit more sleep. It's my birthday today, and we are going out for dinner tonight so I don't want to be overly sleep deprived (is that possible?!) laugh.gif

First though, just editing our list, as you gave me 2 babies, Amy!!! One is definitely enough for me at this stage, thank you very much!!! tongue.gif

Oh yeh! Love seeing this thread moving! I can't wait till I can officially join!

Happy Birthday Karli. I hope you have a great day, and enjoy your newborn cuddles in bed. I wouldn't be moving until I really had to. Is it possible you would be able to edit the first post here and add the list (and colour code it, OCD much laugh.gif ) so its easier to find the full list once all the bubbas are born?

Amy great to hear how things are going for you and Guy. How did you find the 6hr discharge? What time was it when you left hospital? Did anyone come up to hospital, did you have poeple visit once you were home? Did you find 6hrs just that little too long where you got bored and wanted to go home or was it fine? Sorry for so many questions, I guess it all depends on when you actually give birth to how the 6hrs will feel. Bloody DH told me he was going to go home in the 6 hours and leave me there, NO WAY! I'm pretty sure he was joking and if he wasn't all hell will break loose if he tries. mad.gif laugh.gif

Jazy, I've added the list to the first post but haven't colour coded it yet cos I'm using my iPhone and I can't figure out how to do it!! blush.gif I will do it as soon as I can be bothered to use the computer.

Amy, I hope you got some sleep last night. I do love your positivity on FB re: night feeds! biggrin.gif Not wanting to jinx myself, but Jack has now gone close to 4 hours since his last feed!!! I think that's the longest he's ever gone apart from our two 6-hour overnight "teasers" when we first got home. Hoping this is a sign of things to come. Would have been a perfect birthday present if I could have slept too, but I have a friend from out of town staying ATM. Not that she would mind if I slept, but I feel bad... Anyway, a movie on the couch was almost as relaxing.

How's everyone else going? Is anyone going to have a bub to share my birthday? It's a great date to be born!!! laugh.gif

Jazy, we also did same day discharge - it ended up being about 8 hours post birth. She was born in the morning and we left around 4pm. I would have left a couple of hours earlier but we were waiting around for her newborn screens and paperwork. Basically we slept and did some feeding during the day. No visitors since we didn't want any. We rang our parents and gave them the news a couple of hours post birth and they spread the word but we had said we didn't want anyone to come up. We had immediate family come over for a quick visit once we arrived home. As we had both been up for over 30 hours when A was born we were pretty tired so needed to sleep a bit before even contemplating driving home.
I loved going home that afternoon and really didn't want or need to be there any longer. Hope that helps!

Congrats on all your lovely bubs, can't wait to see more of you popping!

Yawn.

So I've got a little boy who fed every two hours all night long, finally taking a longer nap at 10am. In other news though- I've got milk! Hurrah! biggrin.gif

Babydream- Whoops, two babies, sorry. Blame my middle of the night fuzzy-headenedness. With the lucas paw paw ointment, can you put that on and then feed immediately? It was one of the things that attracted me to the Lanisoh, if I put it on and he wakes up he can feed over the top of it. I'm guessing there wouldn't be a problem, but wanted to confirm. Don't you love it when the feeds start to stretch out? smile.gif For the moment, I'm looking forward to reaching the 3 hours during the day, 5 hours overnight mark. By the way- Happy Birthday!!

Jazy- Wow, questions! I'll try and answer them all. Guy was born at 3.46am and we went home around 2.30pm, so more than 6 hours but still same-day discharge. It was nice, we spent some time taking a nap (there is a big double bed in the room so DH & I could lie down together), they bought us breakfast, it was almost like being in a hotel for a few hours time. We were ready to go home a couple of hours before we actually left but had to wait around a little bit for paperwork & the physio clearance. I think it would all depend on what time you gave birth, how much you'd slept etc as to whether or not the 6 hours would be too much/not enough. We also didn't have visitors, I wanted that time for us to be able to relax and I figure that it's not much to ask family to visit us at home instead.

So, how is everyone feeling physically? I'm so much better than I was after my first labour, although I'm in a lot of pain from a bad haemorrhoid (overshare, but if I can't ask for help here, where can I?). Creams are working a little, but does anyone have any advice for getting rid of them quickly? I can barely sit down and it's making everything more difficult.

I should be going to bed early, although almost more than sleep I love the time in the early evening when my toddler is in bed and my husband and I can relax in front of the TV and spend some quality time. Isn't that stupid? You think I'd be smart and be thinking about getting as much sleep as humanely possible!
