Thanks for the congrats girls - I hadn't really mentioned it on FB, not for any real reason just felt funny announcing it when pretty much everyone we have told has said 'about time' or 'we were expecting that'. Sort of took the excitement out of it for us a bit.

Thanks for the stuckonyou offer link SK - I ordered M one too, sounds too good to miss. We definitely need to plan a meet up. After Easter sometime? We'll work on a date.

Just when I boast about how good Mitch is going in his toddler bed he won't go down for his nap today and I've had to put him back to bed 10 times! Not sure whether to keep persisting but I don't want him to 'win' this battle. He's never done this before so sure he's testing the boundaries.

Amy - we have 2 year old attitude here too! We do the same as the other girls have suggested, offer 2 choices and also try to make light of situations. For example, if Mitch won't put his socks on we sing the song about putting your socks on your head, on your nose etc etc then Mitch will show us they go on his feet. A long way to do it but avoids tantrums.

Bee great work on the fundraising. You are doing an amazing job and I'm sure you dad appreciates it.

I can hear pitter patter footsteps again.............best go put him back to bed...again!

SK- Thanks for letting us know about the free offer! I'm stuck between ordering the mini-book and the address labels...

TJ- Don't people suck sometimes? Every pregnancy is exciting, I think the comments of 'it's about time' are completely unjustified! We haven't told anyone yet if we are having a boy or a girl, because of all the 'Oh, it has to be a girl, you don't want another boy!' comments rolleyes.gif Toddler beds are a bit exhasuting, for the first week or so Will actually slept on the mini-couch in his room, I think he's figured out the bed is more comfortable though!

AFM- Thanks for the advice regarding the breakfast choices. We do the same thing at home, he's even been choosing his clothing lately (so basically been wearing lots of singlets and off-colour shorts!). The tantrum actually happened when DH went 'What would you like for breakfast? Weetbix or' -insert tantrum here rolleyes.gif . I was thinking about it more yesterday and realised that he gets like this when he's going through a developmental spurt, he's been trying to talk more and more in sentences lately- my guess is that we have to endure this for a few more weeks, but then he'll suprise us by starting to grasp talking a bit better. Anyway, I'll keep plouging through.

It's his birthday tomorrow (weeee!) and DH & I have got the day off, we are going out to the train museum at Ipswich. With all these tantrums and stress we've been going through lately, it was very tempting to send him to daycare anyway and head out for a nice lunch ourselves! ph34r.gif laugh.gif

Because I probably won't check back in tomorrow-

[b]
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLAKE & NINA!

Happy birthday to Will, Blake and Nina! And a happy birthday to Toffee for today. biggrin.gif She's been an absentee for a while but hopefully she reads this.

Amy - I know what you mean about our children now being mini-adults. DS does so many grown up things all the time now and tonight he was stretched out on his tummy watching the bathwater disappear down the plug hole (mechanics and physics seem to fascinate him, just like his dad), he could almost reach end to end in the bath. Plus his talking is just exploding and he's saying something new all the time! It's awesome to see. wub.gif

Bee - awesome work on the fundraising and I sincerely hope you find a way to help your dad. You're a great daughter.

TJ - your bubba is an August baby too! There was definitely something happening in the cosmos last November because there are so many ladies on this forum especially due in August. I've had a few comments about going back for a girl and I just stare at them blankly and say "why? What's wrong with two boys?". People collectively never say the right things and you just have to take the good with the stupid.

I must say that (crossing fingers, toes, brain waves) DS is fairly placid and doesn't tantrum quite like you girls report. I get plenty of attitude and lots of "no mummy" and he's still waking up in the evil hours and being a very fussy eater but otherwise we've avoided too many major meltdowns. He's a pain in the arse to take shopping by always wanting to run and doesn't like holding hands or being restrained in any way so this usually provokes some rather splendid yelling and thrashing. I do have one of those little animal harnesses but I'm too concerned about what other people think... so they get to see a thrashing toddler instead.

Goodevening! I won't post much because I'm exhausted and can barely keep my eyes open, but we had such a great day. I wanted the whole thing to be relaxed and all about Will, and we managed to achieve that. I've just put photo's up on facebook for those who want to check it out smile.gif

First of all...... Happy Birthday Black, William, Nina and Nathan!!! I hope they all had a fantastic day wub.gif Our little bubbas are really growing up now!

Thankyou to all th ekind words regarding my Dad. The fundraiser is coming along really good. We have heaps of people helping out and so many nice donations. Im really looking forward to a good night. Now we just gotta try and get people to come to the night lol. We have about 60 people so far who are going to buy tickets and a heap of maybes. I just want to help my parents any way possible and I hate seeing them struggle and stress over something as crappy as money. I want them to just be happy with the time they have together.

I think you girls having 2 little boys is lovely. Stuff what the other people are saying. Coming from a mum of 2 girls its really not bad at all. In fact me and Damian would not want it any other way and we are pretty sure we will have 3 little girls one day and that doesnt even bother us. Sometimes people just dont think before they say things and it can be very hurtfull. At the end of the day it really doesnt matter as long as they are healthy.

Well I better get my butt moving, we are off to a 3rd birthday today and the girls are very excited! Ill pop back in later on smile.gif

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend

We had a great day celebrating Nathan's birthday yesterday. He was very spoit and loved the pressies we got him. Needless to say, last nights non-party party was tiring. Our friends were fantastic but seriously Grandparents need to get over themselves. It's not a competition FFS..

Anyway, enjoy your Sunday xo

Good to hear that Nathan had a good party. Sounds like the grandparents misbehaved though sad.gif

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATHAN (sorry I missed it)

and BRAXTON- 1 TODAY!

Bee
- that's so fantastic everything is coming together re: your Dad. You are doing such a great thing for them.
It's funny, I also really hate the comment 'Oh, as long as he's healthy'. What if he's not? So if I have a boy who has, let's say, hearing problems, then I'm really screwed? Sorry, I'm not meaning to sound like I'm taking this out on you, just a general frustration with my stupid family in general rolleyes.gif

SK- sounds like Nathan had a great day! Were the grandparents competing over presents or photo's or cuddles? It just seems silly- he'll love them both for completely different reasons.

AFM- We had such a massive weekend, what with Will's birthday celebrations on Friday, we then spent Saturday moving our stuff out of storage into our garage (which I now have to list & sell on e-Bay) and then Sunday we had church and spent time with my FIL (who lives in a nursing home). It's really nice that today is a cool, rainy day, I've got heaps of stuff to do but we are just taking it slow.

Amy - healthy to me is alive... If someone has a hearing problem thats still healthy. If they are born fighting for their life thats not good, we dont want that. I didnt mean to upset you by saying that.

Whats everyone up to over Easter??

Hey no, I'm sorry, just a bit of a rant. I know that you meant best, it's just that I've been getting that response because people don't know what to say- so it's a 'Well, as long as he's healthy, I guess' in a disappointed kind of voice. I shouldn't have said anything, I know it's not what you meant (I'll shut up now, I'm digging a deeper hole!).

Easter- not much. Lots of resting, relaxing, catching up on uni, seeing family and friends, church- just enjoying the break.

Emma- I read somewhere else that you'd gotten a rental! Well done! smile.gif You must be relieved to be getting away from your parents and starting fresh again.

AFM- Had the most chaotic morning. My husband knocked over a large thermometer this morning (one of those ones that is filled with balls that rise in the heat?) and it was full of mineral oil, which of course got all over the floor- counter- into cables- powerboards. mad.gif He of course did it about five minutes before we had to leave for work, so I was planning on leaving it until we got home (switching everything off first and mopping it up best I could)- and then I had internet issues at work and so had to come home, and thus clean up before I could get started. Ugh. There is mineral oil between my toes, it feels disgusting!
