Good luck for today Chelley, hope you get some answers for DD (and feel some relief for trusting your instinct). You're a good mummy smile.gif

I just saw this thread and noticed that I hadn't come back and updated it like I said I would.

It turned out that my daughter's bowel was distended and pushing up on her aorta causing the breathlessness. All my gut feeling that she shouldn't have a 'toddler tummy' anymore turned out to be correct.

We are several months down the track and while we have the breathlessness under control we are still facing bowel challenges. Trying to find the mix of medication for her constipation has been very tricky. They are now checking for coeliac disease and aslo Chrohn's because her inflammatory markers were high in her bloods.

The paed told me it is one of the top under referred issues from GPs.

So if your one is holding on and not wanting to toilet train for poos, or has quite a prominent toddler tummy after 2 both the paed and the paed gastroenterologist strongly stressed to me that mums should go and get their kids checked out.

I just saw this now! So glad it all checked out ok. I never saw the first post but the breathlessness thing immediatly had me thinking 'heart' which is super scary. Now I understand the FB posts a little better!
