Oh Tammy sorry to hear BF didnt work out and Harlow has reflux.

I know i was down when i moved Liam on to formula at 4months - i really wanted to keep BF but i knew him not puting weight on and being in the low percentile wasnt good - he done so much better once he went on formula it made it easier once i saw the weight gains improve.

Daniel has tounge tied like Liam - spoke to my GP last week and he wants to take a wait and see approach - exactly like we did with Liam and he only got it sorted a few weeks ago. Though when i go back for the 6week check il be getting it snipped as i am determined to ensure i can BF til 6mnths and atm im struggling to keep him attached for longer that 10-15mins as he just gets too tired - iv resorted to changing his nappy if falls asleep after 10mins to get him to keep going longer - doesnt always work though.

Oh Tammy it's good she's sleeping much better! I'm lucky to get three hours straight...not that the boys don't sleep longer than that but wake up on such different cycles at night wacko.gif

Luckily as well mine only feed for 10 -15 mins tops, they don't seem to need more than that and if they do they only throw it up!

Hi Girlies !!!!

So we're all done ! Yay, I cant believe how spread out we are laugh.gif

Tammy- sorry the bf didnt work out but so happy you are able to get some sleep now ! You need to be happy and healthy to look after your three beauties

Lisa- Jett is a quick feeder too, Stella was also.
I can only imagine how your doing it with 2 !
I'm struggling to get my head around having to look after a 14 month old as well as a new born ( Jett is EASY compared to little miss ! )

Elle- 6 weeks will fly by ! I'm hoping to bf for at least 6 months to. I did 4 1/2 with S but intentionally stopped so I could fall pregnant

TT- Glad to hear your well and a little Prince for you too wub.gif
My birth was also quite traumatic at the end sad.gif , but all worked out fine to ....

Oh Chels I hear you!! The boys are a piece of cake compared to Zoe at the moment! Most twin mums would probably kill me for saying this but I would think two close in age like your two would be more difficult than twins!! I definitely think that having twins last is easier than first up as I already know how to do all that is stressful first time round, nappies, baths, BFing etc!

hi girls! smile.gif

Well I cant believe it, we all have our beautiful bubs in our arms! <3

Chels - sorry to hear your birth was traumatic, but all good in the end xx big hugs

We are doing great, the past few days though have been abit unsettling.. i think maybe a growth spurt is happening...
DD just doesnt seem to like to sleep during the day... well she will sleep but only in my arms :| and thats not gonna work once DH goes back to work in two weeks as i wont be able to get anything done! lol ... Everytime i put her down in her bassinet or cot she wakes and cries... aahhh any tips/advice i would really apprecitae? smile.gif
she sleeps fine at night though .... has bath @ 7pm.. feed and then to bed until somewhere between 3am - 5am usually.. then straight back down after feed until around 7am - 9am ish ... do you think she prefers the room dark for day sleeps? is that a good thing to do? Ive heard best to keep room light for her during day sleeps to not confuse from day/night....?

x

Hi everyone smile.gif I hope you are all doing well...

Mink Pink, we had some unsettled days last week as well...I think this is normal for the 5 1/2 weeks mark? I have a sheet that shows when you can expect bub to be unsettled, and the next one is at 7 1/2 weeks and it goes for 2 weeks ohmy.gif ohmy.gif
Not too sure about the day/night thing...I tend to keep it dark at night but during the day Gregory sleeps in normal daylight. Your little girl seems to sleep quite well. Gregory is unsettled from 7-10 p.m. every night, then sleep til 2 a.m, has a feed, sleeps till 6 a.m, so it's not too bad

Chels and Lisa, I have no idea how you cope with a newborn and a toddler!!

AFM, Gregory had his 6 week check up and all is good. We are doing comp feeding as I still struggle a fair bit with breastfeeding. I don't breastfeed in public because I know that I look like I don't know what I am doing (which is true) as Gregory comes off and reattaches constantly. The whole breastfeeding experience has been so soul destroying for me to be honest. I wonder if it will ever feels natural for me...

Congratulations again Tammy, your little girl is beautiful. And congratulations to you, Chels on your baby boy. wub.gif

I had my (not so ) little boy Leo on the 24th - sorry I haven't been in to update. I had quite a traumatic birth and I've been a bit out of action for the last week. BUT - Leo is perfectly healthy and a was born at a very healthy 9lb 9. All I can say is OUCH. But having this goregous baby boy in my arms makes it all worth while.

I hope everyone and all the bubs are doing well. Much love to all wub.gif

Tammy - sorry to hear that BF didn't work out. I'm really struggling with it too. Leo just will not attache. I am expressing at the moment and comp feeding. I have a lactation consultant coming in but I have to be honest - I am terrified that she won't be able to help. He just gets hysterical everytime I try. sad.gif

Great to hear how everyone else is going. Apart from the BF Leo is great. We had our 2 week check up today and his is doing really well and is now 9lb 13oz. How much does everyone else's bubs weigh? Leo just seems so huge!

My boys were weighed today at 5.5 weeks. Max is still smaller at 3.6kgs and Noah 4.0 kgs, they've both put on over 700gms since their last weigh! They seem so small, but they were small at birth being born at 37 weeks. They're actually look quite tubby now!

Jess I would keep it light during the day rather than dark as you might end up confusing her and she may stop sleeping at night. My elder two were always awake during the day from a young age and had given up all day sleeps by 1!

I'm finding BFing more painful this time, i think because I have double the milk the let down is much more painful...but I'm persisting!

Jess - we keep Daniel in the cot during the day with the blinds open letting the light in. Its actually starting to work him noticing day and night as in the cradle soon as the suns up hes awake - doesnt matter if hes still a few hours away from a feed.

BF wise we are coping - Daniel is feeding every 3 hours day and night. Perservering with his tounge-tie trying different things to get him to stay attached longer. Feel happy that i have now finally got him to go 40mins - usualy its 10 or 15mins if i interupt him with a nappy change. So hopefully this is a start of him feeding longer.

Sleep deprivation has started to hit me with the 3hour feeds - mainly as DH is back at work so im juggling the older two and Daniel. Not to mention he decided yesterday to want it every 2hours - i obliged on the hope he will stretch out the night feeds - miserable fail that was - getting up every 2hours then having to wide awake squids at 6am is not fun.

How is everyone recovering from the labour? I have still got my dodgy painful hip that annoyed me during pregnancy. And now my lower stomach muscles everynow and then really get sore. Not sure if thats cos im chasing the older two.

Hi girls

Elle- we're feeding 3 hourly here too and I'm getting very tired. Some days I have a headache that just wont go !
I'm hoping his feeds go longer to to hopefully start stretching him out also.
I'm fine from labour, luckily got away with no tears, cuts, stitches which was amazing considering how big he was !
I'd say your stomach is sore from chasing, mine is a little too

Lisa- your boys are growing up quickly ! what a good weight gain smile.gif
I'm amazed your keeping up with bing the two !

Shell- sorry to hear bfing isn't coming easy. I hope the lactation lady can help you.

As for size, I'm taking Jett in today but last weighed he was 9lb 5, he was born 9lb 4 biggrin.gif
So a big boy to start with smile.gif
How long was Leo? Jett was 54cm.

Ladilife- so sorry you feel like you dont know what your doing re: bfing.... It takes time to feel confident and to feel like you know what your doing ( also woth everything else to do with bub )... It took me months with Stella to feel comfortable doing it in public ( with a wrap over me ) I use to go to the baby change rooms when out or back to the car ! You'l get there, in a few months you feel better about everything and more in control cause you'll feel like you've got the hang of things xx

Jess- you prob shouldnt darken the room. Having said that, Jett's room is resonable dark during the day with the curtains closed. You might find she's a little unsettled with the growth spurt happening. HOw is she with wind? I found wind build up in the arvos were a killer for Stella from about 7-8 weeks till 16 weeks .

hope everyone else is good.
