Hi Girls

I'm desperately seeking a church which will allow us to have our own celebrant.
I'm in Perth and south of the river.
I know this can be done but don't know where to start looking

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Do you mind me asking why you want to get married at a Christian venue with a civil celebrant?

In my experience, most churches will allow you to use your own minister provided that they 'fit' with the churches own theological values- for example, my friend got married in a Uniting Church, using her own Uniting Church minister, she needed the other venue for location purposes but wanted the minister that she was closest to, they all understood.

Are you a member of a church currently? You are probably best off talking to them and seeing what they recommend.

Is your own celebrant a civil one? As far as I am aware the Anglican and Catholic Churches would not permit this but I am not sure about other denominations. Perhaps you'd be better off looking for a non denominational chapel (e.g. a building that used to be a Church but has been deconsecrated and therefore can be used by anyone who wishes to hire it).

Most churches won't allow their venues to be used for non-religious ceremonies.

Why do you want to get married in a church but not have a religious ceremony?
