Hoping a excel wizz can help me out here ...

I need the formula to increase a dollar figure by a percentage.

eg: increase $2.75 by 30%

Ive done an internet search but im even more confused now!

=2.75*1.3

or =2.75+30%

Let's say the amount is in cell A1. Wouldn't the formula just be =A1*1.3?
