Sorry to hear that Cobie, when it rains, it pours, doesn't it. sad.gif Hopefully your DH can find work soon and you can get back on your feet.

As for avacardo. Aiden won't be getting that, If I can't afford to buy them for me, he can't have them either, plus when I do buy them they are always gross.

Lol Ishi. I gave DS a tiny bit of my avocado because it was $3.60. Not something I'm going to do often. But they're not yet in season.

Spencer LOVED the banana but at $1.50 for a tiny one, I don't think he'll have it too many. laugh.gif

Hello fabulous ladies and gorgeous babies. How is everyone going?

Me I am going along well. Evelyn has been crawling (for about 3 weeks now) and loves saying da-da, ma-ma and what sounds like yea and nan-nan. She has her 6mth check up next week and is 6mths old next thursday. One of the baby babies of our little group.. She has also started on less mushed solids and loves boiled chicken. No teeth popping through as of yet.

Oliver is still my energizer bunny, and has been sick lately with all the colds going around. not fun. We had a mini holiday in sydney and went to taronga zoo and the walking with dinosaurs stage show which he loved them both.

DH has found some job prospects that are referral only to apply and a few people have refered him, fingers crossed he gets an interview. the job market is unbelievable..

i have applied through OTEN to do my cert 4 in real estate, and DH is going to be doing it as well..

Hi Cobie, I was thinking of resurrecting this thread today. wink.gif Sounds like your littlies are doing great! Things sound like they're looking up for you too smile.gif There such cute photos in your sig!

We're doing great. The weather's cold and blergh so I'm glad Spencer's still little and that we can stay inside, I don't know what I'll do next winter when he'll be more mobile.

He's still loving his food. Spencer is still eating puree and he's more than happy for me to feed him. He opens his mouth and arms wide for the spoon, it's so cute. I think he's had a growth spurt last week as he was waking about 10pm/11pm for a bottle, but last 2 nights slept like a gem again.

He's sort of starting to crawl, or rather push himself round in circles to reach for toys. I wish I had one of those time lapse cameras to film him, it would be so funny watching him go round and round. He's not showing any signs of teeth either, but I"m not really expecting him to. I didn't get my first tooth till I was about 6.5 months and DH didn't get his till 8 months.

I have to book him in for his 6 month assessment soon as I've only got 2 weeks to go. The nurse suggested I do it later as he was born a month early.

Hope everyone is well and staying warm and healthy where ever you are smile.gif

it's oh so quiet, shhh shhhh.

Well thought I would update you all on what's happening in our world.

Aiden is now 6 months old. Went to the nurse on Thursday and he measured at 70cms and 7.5kgs
technicly he should have weighed in at 8kgs (double his birth weight) but as DH and I would be thin people if we ate better LOL then there is no reason why Aiden should be big, so I am happy with the weight, he's chubby enough.

While we did start solids a little while ago, I was very slack and kinda let off for a while and also Aiden refused them while he had a cold the other weeks, so this meant he was feeding every two hours, including at night, which was kinda killing me, he's still waking every two hours but I'm managing not to feed as often and stretching it to four hours.

So we are back on the solids train, and I have a freezer full of puree. I would have loved to do the baby led weaning, but he's just too hungry to let me do that, I did give him some soldier toasts yesterday to see how he would go, but he just doesn't have the coordination for that yet.

How are you all dealing with the cold? we have a heater in Aidens room during the night while we are awake but we turn it off when we go to sleep, which means it does get quite chilly, it's a column oil heater so pretty safe, I am wondering if I should leave it on low all night and would this maybe stop him waking so often, I'm just a little nervous doing this.

We are starting swimming lessons this week, it's exciting but I have just realised this does mean me in a swiming costume, but it will be good for Aiden as he is a bundle of energy and needs somewhere to expel it.

And finally, I have sent my letter to work about going back sad.gif I really don't want to but if we want to eat and pay bills and if I don't want to deal with DH being annoying about me (not working) he so doesn not get that what I do is working. then I have to. Oh well, it's just until no#2 comes along, and then I might take 2 years and go back part time only. I now know why my mum waited until we were older to go back to work full time, and then it was only 4 days a week.

Hi girls,

It is really quiet in here isn't it. I have thought of posting many times, but haven't got there!

We are doing really well here. Willow had her 6month check a couple of weeks back and wasn't quite 6kg, but she has more than doubled her birth weight, so she is right on track for her.

We attend Gymbaroo once a week and we have mothers group on two days (different groups) so the days fly by, its crazy. Willow is very chatty/squeals lots when she is around those she knows, but really reserved when she isn't sure. She is starting to sit unassisted for short times and rolls onto her back and nearly front when she can be bothered. She is a cheeky bubba who has already mastered the art of spitting food she doesn't like onto her shoulder and opening her mouth for more so she can get her fruits after her vegies laugh.gif I absolutely love spending time with her and her dadda is absolutely smitten (they have soooooo much fun together). I am dreading having to go back to work, but hope to only do crt work to begin with and then very part time thereafter.

In regards to the cold weather, we put Willow in a warm sleeping bag and have blankets on top and have central heating so her room is warm enough. I have had to pop the vaporizer in there lately as she had a bit of a cold. I found that heated the room even more! I would be worried about a heater in the room all night, so would probably turn it off before bed, but at the same time the coldest part of night is around 4am-tough decision.

Swimming lesson sound fun, I am thinking of doing that is term 4, when the weather and figure improve haha

Hope everyone is loving their not so little bubbas-more photos people. I will pop a couple up tomorrow if I get a sec.

Hey girls,
It's certainly died off in here hasn't it? sad.gif
I was thinking, my June 2008 mummies group kicked off a private facebook group where we used to catch up and chat and add photos, I was thinking maybe we could have our own December 2010 mummies facebook group if any of you girls are interested. I'd love to keep in contact with you all and see how you're all going and what are your little cherubs are up to but sadly I just don't come here a heck of alot these days.
Anyway, I just thought I'd suggest it and see if you're all keen biggrin.gif

I hope your all well
