Well, where does one start?

Probably the best point would be when we departed Sydney a few days before the wedding date.

25th Sept - DF & I flew out at 8.30pm from Sydney. Wedding dress in tow I can tell you it was a bit awkward, but so exciting at the same time. Most of the V staff knew what the garment bag was 'housing' and asking about the big day, where we were doing the deed and upon finding out it would be Vegas were so excited for us. I was a tiny bit hoping that it would get us an upgrade to business class, but to no avail. Ah well, too excited to care anyhow.

Only downside to the trip was that we were put right at the back of the plane (last row to be exact) and were last in the meal service & basically had no choice for that evening.

25th Sept (LAX) - We arrived the evening of 25th Sept at 5.30pm in the evening & went to pick up our hire car.. A mustang, which would be doing us the honour of transporting us for our entire US trip. We checked in overnight in LAX at the Westin and headed down to dinner (Our best man/best woman & bridesmaid were with us for the evening in same hotel). I ordered a chicken pot pie thinking it would come in a standard Aust size ramekin and was taken quite by surprise when they brought out a family pie dish!! Needless to say I only ate 1/3.

26th Sept - Today we drove from LA to Vegas. We decided to do the touristy 'Route 66' and just basically drove past alot of dust, rocks & Joshua Trees. It was very much the same scenery and VERY HOT. 110 Farenheit but only 8% humidity. Now this was my type of heat!! laugh.gif

Driving on the other side of the road took a bit of getting used to, but we all managed (with alot of concentration). We arrived in Vegas and checked into our rooms that evening and headed down again for dinner in the steakhouse in PH. Cant remember what it was called but it was really quite good. Went out nightclubbing and returned to our rooms at 3am-ish.

27th Sept - This was the day that we went to obtain our marriage license whilst our bridal party did the Grand Canyon. The application took a mere 10mins and we received the paperwork 'unofficially' announcing us husband & wife... wub.gif Next stop was the chapel to pay the balance and to just check out the venue as a whole. Suitably satisfied we made final confirmations & submitted final information for the big day. Alas we saw that our photographer we were bringing from Aust was not allowed in the venue due to chapel regulations (they have an in house photographer where they obviously make more cash flow in their packages). Bit disappointed but still happy with everything else nonetheless..

Headed off & did some shopping at the 'outlet' centre and then headed back to the hotel had a quick swim in hotel pool, before deciding too hot so decided to get ready to meet more guests who had arrived and head out for Mexican for dinner. Later that night walking through the shopping mall of our hotel DF & I happened to stumble across a 'Titanium' jewelery store by chance!! Had a look just for sticky beak purposes and lo & behold found DF's wedding ring!! We were just going to use a 'stunt' ring until he found one he liked when we were back in Oz!! What a great find!! DF loved it, I was happy & it really was a unique and ring that suited really well!

Had a HUGE night at Heart Bar in our Casino having tequila shots & getting to bed at 5am!! Some of us didnt feel too well the following day!! blush.gif

28th Sept - Today was a bit more low key. Boys had to go organise their tuxes, whilst us girls had a hair trial (a double bonus for the combined hens/bucks that night). Wasnt entirely happy with the hair job but considering it was $30 for a trial updo I just thought she wasnt doing whole kit and kaboodle and just a simpler job to get the feel for our hair.

That night we went to Eiffel Tower in Paris Hotel & had a superb meal. After dinner headed off to Studio 54 and partied away until early hours.

29th Sept - DAY BEFORE. Today was spray tan day. Didnt realise how far the spray tan salon was from Vegas city itself & after a $50 cab ride EACH way felt quite sheepish. BUT she did a superb job so couldnt complain too much at all as I was stoked.

That night was quieter & made sure that I was in bed by 11.30pm (so easy to be up till 5am in the morning in the casinos - I swear they pump something through the system to keep you awake and the spray tanner verified this stating her husband worked at Mandalay and knew for a fact the did so). But before we did we went across from where we were staying & watched the Bellagio Fountain water show. They played the opera song 'Goodbye' whilst the fountain show was on and it was all really quite emotional really. I was very teary, but very very very happy!

30th Sept - Wedding Day!! laugh.gif I felt great! I had a great night sleep, I woke at 8am. I just felt serene, calm happy & relaxed! Said goodbye to DF (soon to be DH) and had a shower and nibbled on some room service brekky with bms whilst make up & hair artist worked on us.

I still wasnt completely happy with the outcome BUT it wasnt too bad either so I just let it be. I can be a perfectionist so thought that something like this wasnt going to worry me. I was too elated & joyous!!

Time came to put the dress on... I had lost weight & the dress kept slipping down at the front & not sitting right. TBH - I didnt care. The dress looked complete & lovely with everything done on me so I just breezed around in it despite having to constantly adjust!! laugh.gif A teeny bit disconcerting too considering I wore no bra.. blush.gif

The flowers arrived and they were simply gorgeous!! I was stoked & so so happy with them. Photographer arrived & took photos in hotel room, then limo arrived and it was time to go!!

We were on a tight schedule as the chapels tend to be a bit of a production line so it was a strict deadline of 1.30pm!! Each limo driver had to ensure that the boys did not get a glimpse of us in our limo.

We were ushered into the 'bride's' room in readiness to enter the chapel whilst the boys & guests were taking their places.

Then we were ushered out to the doors ready to proceed down the aisle. When I caught a glimpse of DH I was beaming! I felt fantastic all the way in the limo, and was so happy to see him. I caught one look at him, he was tearing up MASSIVELY and then I proceed to lose my 'sh!t' laugh.gif Blinking and trying to hold back the tears we held each others hands at the front of the chapel whilst the Pastor read the vows, performed the ring ceremony & then announced us husband & wife & allowed us to kiss!! wub.gif All in all it took 4mins & 47secs (according to the DVD) from walking down the aisle to when were proceeded back down the aisle as man & wife. laugh.gif I can tell you it felt alot quicker than that even!!

The rest of the day was a whirlwind with lots of photos taken around Vegas, at the Neon Graveyard (where the old Vegas Neon lights are laid to rest) and then to Red Rock Canyon. We then headed to Stratosphere tower where we were having the reception dinner in a private room in the restaurant.

The reception dinner was amazing. Everything was fantastic, the staff were exceptional, the food was tremendous & everything just went PERFECT!! After dinner DH and I headed higher up the tower and went on the Big Shot ride as Husband & Wife (me still in my wedding dress - why not!! laugh.gif )

It was a perfect magical day. I could not have asked for any better!!

There are a few photos on FB to have a squiz at to enjoy until our pro pics arrive. Enjoy!!

Di - it was great to read about the wedding after seeing all the pics on FB and following your honeymoon. Was even better to follow your time in Vegas since it was just after us returning. Glad you liked the eiffel tower - did you do the ala carte or the degustation??? We did degustation. Your dress was just stunning and worth everything you went through to have it made. So glad Scott found his ring in your hotel shops - I am guessing Miracle Mile shops....aptly named! Everything was just gorgeous! biggrin.gif

Awww sorry you cant see the photos guys. I will try to upload some to photobucket..

Bec - Eiffel tower was amazing. I dont think we had the degustation, but I had a cheese souffle & rack of lamb, Scott had Rabbit, BM2 had Lobster Bisque, BM1 had Carpaccio. The meals were AMAZING!! Couldnt fault them, and they whisked us through quickly as they knew we were tight in time as we had tix for Peep Show.. laugh.gif

And yes, Miracle Mile!! blush.gif Such a great place!! I would have to say they were on par with the outlet centres even. I was best friends with the women in the Clinique store!! When you can get the jumbo size moisturiser for $24 USD how can one resist taking home 4 bottles of the stuff!!

We did the degustation as it was my b'day when we were there and we sat at a table on the window facing bellagio fountains and caesars....was amazing. The white corn soup was to die for as was the warm prawn salad. The eiffel tower chocolate plate...OMG!

Yes Miracle Mile shops were good. Went to Gap there and also Sugar Factory and bought one of those swarovski lolli pops!

What did you think of peep show - wasnt totally impressed, it was good but not fantastic...I only bought two things from clinique and only got one bottle of perfume....got way more carried away in banana republic and Louis Vuitton then on that stuff this time...oh well mum & dad go in July...they can stock up!
