Damn you Beth - you did beat me! laugh.gif

Once I have a spare moment I will type up my birth story and post some piccies on here. But in the mean time things are going really well smile.gif

Zoe was pretty freaked out to start with and was scared of Grace but she is okay now and is being a good big sister. She gives her hugs and kisses and all that good stuff smile.gif. My dad being here has been a godsend - seriously don't know what I would be doing without him. It is great to always have someone here to help out with either Zoe or Grace.

Grace is going really well - already gaining weight, breastfeeding well and seems pretty happy in general. And I am healing up well too - still a bit tender downstairs and my boobs are quite sore but I'm sure that will all settle down soon.

So yes going well smile.gif

I'll try to come in more often for a little chat now that things are settling down a bit.

Hope all of the other mum and bubs are going well smile.gif

Sorry i haven't been in here too often.. My little Miss thinks feeding every 2 hours is the thing to do! And my poor nips are paying for it! Oh.. The pain! *cry* I think 4 years between BF'ing is too long! My boobs don't know what to do anymore laugh.gif

Apart from sore boobies, everything is blissfully perfect (Oh.. a little more sleep would be nice!) I'm feeling very much complete with my family.. It's such a wonderful feeling knowing we are all here wub.gif The kids have been AWESOME! biggrin.gif They all love her to bits already, even Jayden couldn't care less about having yet *another* sister!

Had a few problems during the birth and I now can never carry another baby to term... Let's just say thank god my OBs changed dates or Abbi or myself might not be here today sad.gif I was very close to rupture so close they could see through my uterus when they opened me up. I'm a little sore from the rush job they did to get her out safely but i happy to take it, knowing it's all because my little girl is here and is healthy. I think we both scared the hell out of Nathan! He hasn't let Abbi or myself out of his sight since we have been home from hospital! laugh.gif

Sorry Abigail is calling for another feed, will be back to do personals later smile.gif

Beth Wow I am so glad that you and Abigail are okay - that must of been so scary for you hon. It sounds like you are doing really well even after your big scare - I'm glad the kids are being great with her and that you are feeling good.

We are doing well here. Zoe is getting better and better with having Grace around, she likes to go and see her sleeping, gives her kisses on the head, counts her fingers and toes, helps me bathe her and even says "boobies yummy!" every time I feed Grace laugh.gif

Grace is feeding well and my boobs are coping quite nicely smile.gif I am definitely producing enough milk - I usually end up choking the poor little miss laugh.gif. Sleep is going pretty well too. Last night she went down for the night at 11:45, woke up at 2 for a feed, back to sleep at 3, then woke again at 5:30 for a feed and back to sleep at 6. I then had to get up at 7 for Zoe. So I got just over 5.5 hours sleep - good enough for me!

I think Mat is going to be taking Zoe this weekend - which will be a nice break for me. I might get down to the shops while I just have one bubba to look after.

I'm still a bit sore downstairs - the grazes hurt if I am not careful when I pee and I generally feel a bit stiff and sore down there. But it is getting better every day smile.gif - soon I will back to my old self and I can get some exercise going. I can't wait to lose my weight! I put on 19kgs with the pregnancy and so far I have had 8kgs drop off - so 11 kgs until I get to my pre-pregnancy weight and then I want to lose another 11kgs! So 22kgs to go!! That sounds like a lot doesn't it. Oh well I will get there.

How are all of the other mummies and bubbies doing?

Just going to copy and paste from our other thread because im a bit sore & tired still..will catch up soon but am happy to be joining you all on the other side biggrin.gif

Sorry Karryn i didnt get the PM until now laugh.gif and had already left to get organised but am happy to announce that Finn and i are now home wub.gif

Sunday night had cervadil at 8pm because nothing was ready then it cameout Monday afternoon after tightenings...Tuesday at 12pm was taken to delivery for waters to be broken (finally was dialated enough) and syntocin started and the not so little man made his way into the world at 11.57pm on the 2nd Nov weighing 4.02kgs/8lb 14oz & 52.5cm long, 36cm head...needless to say he was more then worth the wait and we are very much in love with our baby boy biggrin.gif
Came home this afternoon and am feeling great despite after birth pains (Ouch wish someone had told me about these laugh.gif) and a sore back from the epidural (completly lost all focus by 5pm after 4hrs of syntocin and begged for it-best decision ever wouldnt have lasted 12hrs otherwise tongue.gif)

Hope everyone else is doing well- will catch up properly later going to try and get some rest after a rough night last night and K being a handful today lol

Kristy As I said in the other thread - I'm glad that you are home and feeling good smile.gif

Grace was an angel last night!! Went down at 7:30pm and was up for the day at 7am with only 2 feeds in between. I got 7.5 hours sleep biggrin.gif. Here's hoping that sort of thing can continue - because I can definitely survive on that much sleep.

Zoe has been feeling a little bit off today - I think she is just over tired, but she just wants me to hold her all of the time and that is obviously hard when I am looking after Grace. Dad just whipped her up in the pram and went off to the shops to give me a break - gotta love that! It is going to be hard work once he has gone.

Congratulations Kristy on the birth of Finn wub.gif Glad to hear that you're home and doing well smile.gif No worries about the announcing - I was wondering if you'd seen the PM in time smile.gif The afterbirth pains got me too sad.gif I seriously wouldn't have minded the gas at times to get through them. One midwife asked if it felt like I was having another baby and I agreed! She told me that someone even had to have a pethadine shot to get through them ph34r.gif Apparently they get worse with each pregnancy.

Alicia - great to hear that Grace is being a good sleeper for you smile.gif Lachlan is still a pretty good sleeper, but he still has his longest sleeps during the day! If I could sleep too, that would be fine smile.gif I need to work on having 2 kids asleep at the same time! You're Dad sounds like he's doing a great job helping out too smile.gif

Beth - OMG about your birth. So glad that everything has turned out ok. Sounds like you have lots of little helpers ready and willing smile.gif I hope Abigail starts giving you a bit more of a break between feeds soon. BTW love your signature pic.

Janelle - Hope you're doing well too smile.gif

Lachie weighed in at nearly 3.4kg clothed yesterday, so I am definitely happy with his weight gain smile.gif I feel much better now he is looking and feeling more 'solid' biggrin.gif He is starting to get a bit more head control and is trying hard to lift his head more during tummy time. We are getting lots of gummy smiles (probably wind ???), but are yet to catch them on camera. Alyssa is being the doting big sister (mostly) and loves to be helpful during nappy changes getting out the nappies and wipes.

I can't believe the timing, but Alyssa has just about toilet trained in the last couple of weeks blink.gif Everything I've read about TT says don't do it around time of change eg. new baby. So of course this is when she decided she is 'ready' laugh.gif So now the cry of 'wee wee' is now very familiar in our house along with A. running for a potty/toilet!

I think I'm about 90% back to normal. My stitches have healed well and I can only really feel them when sitting for a while or when I sit on the floor. Feeding is going well and my boobs have thankfully regulated back to a 'reasonable' size tongue.gif DH went back to work yesterday, so I'm now getting used to looking after 2!

Karryn Great to hear that Lachie is doing well with the weight gain, your boobs must be doing an awesome job laugh.gif. Zoe is the same as Alyssa at change times - so cute when she hands me the nappies and wipes wub.gif. I'm thinking of toilet training Zoe in a few months time - so I guess she will be around Alyssa's age then - any tips you want to share?? I too only feel sore if I sit for too long and especially on the floor - man that hurts!! How are you finding it looking after both kidlets by yourself?

I went out shopping today with dad, Zoe and Grace - our first real outing! And it went really well - we had the Strider pram with both seats - Zoe sat happily while we shopped and Grace slept the whole time smile.gif. Now both kids are in bed and I get to relax for a little bit biggrin.gif. Grace is still sleeping and feeding well and seems to be generally very settled and calm. I'm just waiting for the storm to break loose like it did with Zoe. Zoe was so easy for the first 10 days of her life and then it was hell for a while. So I'm lapping up the good times while they last laugh.gif

Hi everyone biggrin.gif

So glad to hear that everyone's little ones (and bigger ones) are behaving for them!

Lucas is doing pretty well - he's had a couple of bad nights (always following his grandparents visits... someone's being overstimulated!) but usually there are 4 hours between feeds now - definitely achievable for me! He's a sweet little fellow, his jaundice is getting lighter (but seriously taking forever to go away!). He's got sticky eye in both eyes, so we're trying the whole breastmilk trick... so far no luck but we'll stick with it for a while. Poor little chicken! He has some wind problems too, but we sleep him in a sling bassinet during the day and that seems to help (he freaks out at night in it). Oh, speaking of night - I have a two and a half week old who is afraid of the dark! Not sure what's happening there but we had to get a night light for outside his room!
He weighs 3.5kg now, which means he's regained birth weight plus a little more, and he feeds like a trooper. I have attachment issues (inverted nipples) so I have to use nipple shields for him to attach (owie!). The benefit is that he switches between the breast and bottles of EBM very easily, and I can actually see how much he takes in a feed. He takes much more than the 'recommended' amount per feed, but it's what he wants, so that's ok. We're convinced he'll turn into a chubba bubba if he continues laugh.gif

Things here are going well - the inlaws are around a LOT - nearly every day - and if they're here when Lucas is awake it generally means a bad night that night as Granddad can't resist keeping him awake for cuddles, even when his eyes are rolling back in his head. Drives me batty, but it's because they love him. (although DH has suggested calling his dad a couple of times late at night biggrin.gif)

DH has leave until the 4th of January so we're very spoilt here, he's been doing all the cooking and most the cleaning while I sit around and rest. I thought I was recovering fantastically from my cesarean but over the last week or so I've been in agony all through my lower abdomen again so I think I was pushing it too hard.

Alicia - glad Grace is gaining weight already! Very exciting to hear about your successful shopping trip, what an achievement!

Karryn and Kristy - sucks to hear about the afterbirth pains!

Kristy - rest up and we'll catch up once you're back properly smile.gif

Karryn - well done for successfully starting toilet training! I think the reason they say not to with a newborn is more because the toddlers aren't usually as keen on it at that time, but if you can get it to work for you that's awesome!

Beth - glad to hear you're ok after a bit of a surprising birth - you're so lucky that your obs moved the date - I'm glad everyone is safe and well. Very scary to hear about how thin your uterus was!

All the bubbies I've seen are just gorgeous guys - we're a very talented bunch baking such beautiful bubbas smile.gif

Sounds like everyone is going really well smile.gif

Alicia - I'm also lovin' the honeymoon period laugh.gif All up i've lost 9kgs, which i'm pretty happy about so far smile.gif Am hoping i can loose a few more kgs before i really have to start working it off laugh.gif Can't wait to start feeling myself again too!

Kristy - Welcome back hon! Hope your enjoying your new little man wub.gif

Karryn - Glad to hear your stitches are healing nicely and feeling back to normal smile.gif Can't wait for that feeling! WTG on Lachie weight gain too! He's now as big as Abi when she's was born.

Oh... And YES! Afterbirth pains DO get worst the more kids you have! OMG.. Worst pain ever!

Jantastic - Your IL's would drive me batty.. wacko.gif Hopefully the visits slow down so you and Lucas can get some rest smile.gif

We are going really good (Other then our first solo school pick ups on Friday, which was a big fat fail laugh.gif) She's feeding really well, now every 2.5 to 3 hours during the day and 4+ hours overnight, which is do-able but I'm still feeling tired..

Getting her weighed (hopefully) tomorrow, need to ring the nurse and see if she can fit me in. Last time she was weighed she put on 90g in 2 days so I'm not too worried, just hoping she's close to her birth weight! Thankfully my nipples are healing nicely (Thanks to bad attachment on my part in hospital) But i now have nipple thrush, so it seems it's never ending lately..

Nath went back to work yesterday sad.gif Feeling really sad about it actually.. Had a little cry when he left this morning. I just wanna stay in this newborn love bubble forever rolleyes.gif But bills need to be paid and 4 little mouths need to be feed!

Who else is feeling the baby blues? I don't remember it lasting so long..

Janelle Sounds like Lucas is going very well smile.gif I'm glad his jaundice is clearing and that he is gaining a good amount of weight - you must be doing a super good job smile.gif. And how lucky are you to have your hubby around for so long! That is going to be extremely helpful.

Beth 4+ hours overnight sounds nice - Grace is more like every 3 hours. But somehow I am not too tired - probably because I have my dad doing all of the cooking and helping out in general. Damn on the nipple thrush - I hope it passes quickly for you! I don't think I have had the baby blues yet - I didn't get them at all with Zoe so I'm hoping I can avoid it this time too.

Not much to add from me. Zoe was incredibly whiny today - she was driving me nuts! Grace has been good all day just feeding and sleeping really - she barely opens her eyes still.

Mat came around for a visit today too - it was quite strange to have him here but it was all fine. He enjoyed spending some time with Zoe and having some cuddles with Grace so that was good. He is going to visit again next Sunday which is cool with me. He has even started paying double the amount of child support even though he hasn't received the official letter to tell him how much he needs to pay so he is being good. I hope we can keep on getting along so well - for everyone's sake.

The only other thing that has happened is my mum got totally cornered by my auntie at my uncle's art exhibition opening. My auntie belittled my mum - told her she could never afford the house she wants to buy, that all of the bad things that have happened in her life were her own fault and her own choices. And then she went on to bag me as well dry.gif - supposedly I am "just plain rude" and I am just using mum for her money. And according to my auntie if I can find another man to put up with me then I will just leave mum and show no gratitude for all that she has done for me. Needless to say I am pretty angry and upset about it all - it really pisses me off that she would say those things to my mum (who really doesn't need this at the moment since she suffers chronic depression) and that she seems to think that I am such a bad person - I have never been rude to her so I don't know what she is on about. All I know is if I see her again anytime soon I am going to have a few words to her! mad.gif God it makes me so mad mad.gif

Anyway I just had to get all that out - a good venting really helps laugh.gif

Now it is time for bed - gotta get some sleep while I can!

Alicia Fab news that Matt is stepping up and doing what he should of been doing in the first place! Boo to your Auntie! dry.gif She's sounds like she needs to get a life of her own and butt out of yours and your mums!

When did your bubba gain he's/her birth weight back? The nurse is driving me up the wall! mad.gif Abi has gain 160g in one week (Go Abi! biggrin.gif) and because she's not back to her birth weight yet, she needs to come out every couple of day to get a bare weight from her.. rolleyes.gif She fine, sleeping well, feeding fine, lots of wet and poo nappies! Just leave us alone! You making me stress about her weight will just make everything worst!

Beth I haven't had Grace weighed since last Tuesday - and I was told by the midwife then that she was happy with how we were both doing so I could just wait until CYH came out to do the hearing test for the next weigh-in. I'm just going by the fact that she is happy, feeding well, sleeping well, has lots of poos and wees. I think she is doing fine. I hate how much pressure some people put on with the weight gain!

My bestie is coming to visit this afternoon to meet little miss Grace and then dad is going to take Zoe out to the shops for me so that I can have a toddler break laugh.gif. Right now Zoe should be sleeping but instead she is busy chatting away in her cot rolleyes.gif.

Nothing else to add - just plodding around the house today - nothing interesting tongue.gif

How is everyone traveling at the moment? Good I hope smile.gif - things are still going well here smile.gif

I do have a random question which is definitely TMI but I am going to ask anyway. Has anyone else been really gassy and needed to do number 2s a lot since birth? I just seem to be popping off all of the time and going to the toilet multiple times each day - it seems quite strange!

ohmy.gif Alicia my blood is boiling for you... how effing rude!!! Feel free to point me in the direction of your aunty... I've got some anger and frustration that needs to go somewhere.

Just take solace in knowing that she is DEAD WRONG and YOU and YOUR MUM are the better people in this scenario because you know she is wrong, and the two of you are kind, lovely people and she is probably just jealous of the very tight bond between you and your mum xxx
