Hi!

I'm here, sorry I haven't posted yet we're back in hospital because Lucas is pretty jaundiced and they want him under lights. It's heartbreaking to see my little man so upset under the lights, and the blood tests are excrutiating, but the lady who took my bloods all through pregnancy showed up to take his bloods today and she was bloody brilliant, she is worth her weight in gold!

I'm completely smitten with our little man, and can't wait to share our babies growing up stories with everyone wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Hopefully we'll be home (again) today or tomorrow smile.gif

Hi again smile.gif

We're home again, we were released late yesterday, and I've been in a haze of sleep and feeding since.

The hospital the second time round was very rough - It felt like a bit of a slap in the face to have to go back there I think - it would have been easier had we not left in the first place.

On Saturday when we were being released, the paed said that he thought we'd be ok but if the jaundice spread further down Lucas' legs, we had to call back. We were convinced he looked better on Sunday, and we were lucky that we had a friend of Cameron's who is a midwife and lactation consultant come for a visit and she took one look at him and said that we needed to call the paed straight away. We had to then take him back for a blood test, and then we came home again. Almost as soon as we got home, we got a phone call from the paed saying we had to take him back in again, so all the way back to the hospital again.

I'm so glad to be home again though, and we're trying to find our feet - all over again!
Will post some pics of my little man soon, I"m trying to work out some thank you cards right now on snapfish smile.gif

Janelle So glad that you are home again and that Lucas is going well. I really hope that is the last of the hospital trips for little Lucas now, and that you can concentrate on getting to know your sweet little man smile.gif

Our little boy is 2 weeks old in about 20 minutes! I can't believe how much the time flying by!

We had our first weigh-in at the hospital today and I'm so happy to say that he is now 2820g. That's 225g more than his birth weight and 375g more than his discharge weight. So I'm pretty happy with that! He's a pretty good feeder, but only seems to feed for short spurts anywhere between 3 and 5 hourly, so I wasn't sure if that was going to be enough. He has also grown another 1 1/2 cm too. Everything seems to be going well smile.gif

It's great having my DH home. It's like having a little holiday with the four of us, except that we're not somewhere more exciting than home! We had a couple of friends over for lunch today, so their kids kept Alyssa occupied and running around for a while. Alyssa missed her day sleep (again) and finally crashed about 7:30pm. I think she is getting ready to drop her day sleep sad.gif I think she is also getting her 2 year old molars, so that might have something to do with it too.

Janelle - So glad you're home again and Lucas' jaundice is under control. Lachie had a bit of jaundice, but fortunately just leaving him near the window in the hospital room and feeding seemed to help (mind you waking him up for feeding was another story!). So lucky that you had such a knowledgeable friend visiting! I'm doing up cards on Snapfish as well. Have you seen that you can get a free set from the Huggies website? You just have to register and then you can get the promo code for the freebies. I'm hoping to do that as well as the 40% discount they've got on at the moment. I'm just trying to get a really good photo to put on it!

Looking forward to more bubs here VERY sooon! smile.gif

Karryn Great to hear that Lachie is doing well in height and weight gain - you must be doing a super good job smile.gif. I really hope for your sanity that Alyssa doesn't drop her day sleeps - that would be a bit hard to handle - having no break during the day at all. I guess if she is/has dropped them then you will just have to introduce quiet time instead so that you can have a mini break at some point in the day. Good luck!
