Lovely photos sepia! I lol'ed at the superman one!!

QUOTE(kati85 @ Jan 7 2011, 06:14 AM) View Post

she hardly sleeps in the day... maybe 2 x 1.5 hr naps and some teeny tiny catnaps. Oh well, at least I'm well rested to deal with her all day.

We've had a couple of shocking days lately re: day sleeps. Yesterday and today was 2 x 1/2 hr catnaps - that was all the sleep she had!! Does anyone's baby sleep this little in the day, only 1 hr in total?!?! It's funny reading my above quote again, can't believe I was complaining when she had a 1.5 hr long nap and that it was too short! It would be bliss right now!!

Eddie has had some days with only one good sleep, and then others like today where he clocked up 5 hours of sleeps, and was still exhausted by bedtime!

Sorry if this post is full of mistypings, our laptop is being repaired and the desktop is on a study full of mortein.

We had a lovely week away a my parents house in the country, Eddie was an angel apart from some more painful trapped wind at bedtime feeds sad.gif. We had him in the portacot for the first time, and I don't know if it was uncomfortable for him, or slopes a bit, but the first night he woke at 3.30 on a complete angle with his head against the edge, and the next night I awoke to him chattig away at 6.15 and he had wriggles (in his Wrap Me Up) completely out from under the covers and around 90 degrees and was lying there way away from his blankets as happy as Larry blink.gif we were really worried he'd turn himself under his covers, but he seemed fine, and now back at home he's 'straight' again biggrin.gif

he hasn't repeated his wonderful 12-hour stint of a few weeks ago, but is consistently doing 8-10 hours for the first sleep, apart from tonight when I was getting ready for bed at midnight and found a congregation of mozzies on the entrance of our house sad.gif I was trying to quietly kill them all but I think I woke him and he was wailing and wailing so we had a nice relaxed feed and hopefully he now won't wake up every 3 hours...

The rolling hasn't been successful since last week; he tries, he really does, but isn't co-ordinating it all quite yet.

I've been having baths with him which we both love, and tonight tried a shower, which surprised him a bit at first but them there were grins from ear to ear.

We did have another first yesterday- Ollie our cat, who is the smoochiest cat on the planet, finally came up and smooches Eddie! I was asleep ph34r.gif so missed yet another thing biggrin.gif

we've got a nice relaxing week together at home, and then are off on the Sting tour, which is 8 days and 3 cities. I hope it isn't all too unsettling for Eddie, especially with the time difference to Perth making for a long day and a short day. We've got cots lined up for all the hotels, but I'm dreading quite how much clothes/spit rags etc I'll have to take fr 8 days on the run biggrin.gif

anyway, 1am and I really should go to bed! I had grand plans to cycle in the morning, but rain and humidity and 4.5 hours sleep just doesn't appeal!

Will come and do personals tomorrow when I have a computer screen to see on!

Oliver was a cat napper - 3 x 45 min naps if i was lucky. He slept well at night though, so I just sucked it up and dealt with it, figuring it'd be worse the other way around. At 8 months he dropped a nap, started sleeping on his belly, and his day sleeps went to 2 x 2 hrs.

Henry can still only cope with being up an hour at a time. On fussy days he might have 5 short naps, on good days 3 big ones. I just roll with it.

Neither of my kids have slept well in the portacot. I think they aren't very comfortable. I expect to have more wake ups when using one, so will generally opt to co-sleep part of the night when away to avoid that. I usually put them down in the portacot and then bring them into bed when they wake after midnight.

Hi all,

Been a busy week here, luckily we were no where near the floods but it was very surreal watching it unfold. I've hardly turned the TV off!

Kate rolled for the first time on Wednesday and once again today. She is also a bit of a cat napper, but like Henry some days she will have lots of little naps and on others a few big ones. I usually find that if we have a morning out and she doesn't sleep, she will have a big sleep in the afternoon. She wakes usually 2 times at night still unfortunately! I thought formula helped them sleep longer laugh.gif

Anyway I promised Emma I would play snap with her!

Good to know what everyone else's bub is doing with their day sleeps. A. is completely all over the place - I didn't know babies were so random - but I should've guessed by now tongue.gif

How exciting on the rolling! Was it from front to back or back to front?? A. has been really trying but nothing yet!

Gotta run, grizzles being heard!

Hi girls,

sorry I haven't been back in for a while. Things aren't going great for me.. I'm back at counselling and trying to work things out.

Tabitha is amazing and such a good baby, apart from waking thru the night, but eh.. just have to go with that I guess..

I do pop in and read how you girls are. I miss chatting. hope to get back to posting properly soon.

take care
xx

Hi All, I'm back now too biggrin.gif Was without computer over the Chrissy/ New Year period waiting on a part for my laptop.... geez, worst time of the year to have something not work as it takes AGES to order anything, everything is closed!!

Have been reading how everyone has been going though, love hearing about all the exciting advances our clever bubbas are making wub.gif

Update from us... we have spent a good part of the last few weeks working on Liam's sleeping. For a while there he went through what I'm hoping was just a phase where he was waking twice a night e.g. 2:30 and then 4:30 and was taking over an hour to re-settle and get him back to sleep wacko.gif I have no idea what was actually going on but started to suspect that he was waking up after a short sleep cycle but then not able to put himself back to sleep!! Needless to say we then started working on self settling a lot more!! I phoned the Tresillian parents helpline about it who were absolutely fantastic, they gave me some great tips on best way to manage it. I am happy to report that over the last week he has been back to sleeping through the night again which Mummy and Daddy are very grateful for! laugh.gif The funny thing is that he was sleeping through the night previously from about 10 weeks old, he then got a cold which seemed to throw everything out of whack...... I'm learning that babies can very quickly get out of what was a routine or seem to forget how to do something they could do before IYKWIM? Lesson learnt! blush.gif

Liam is loving all of his play time and we are getting lots of smiles wub.gif No rolling over yet, he seems more interested in lifting his head up or trying to arch his bum up to try and wiggle forward laugh.gif So funny to watch as he looks really determined at times to try to get moving and has this intense look of concentration at times laugh.gif

Interesting hearing about all our bubs sleeping patterns, sounds like I'm not the only one with a catanpper! tongue.gif Depending on the time of day Liam will usually sleep anywhere from 30 mins to 2hrs? The 2hrs is on a good day! laugh.gif

Bella sorry to hear that things aren't great at the moment sad.gif we're all here if we can do anything to help *hugs* Look forward to hearing more updates about Miss Tabitha soon.

Better run, dinner to get out of the oven and grizzles to attend to! blush.gif

Hmmm... its very quiet in here, hope all out Mum's and Bus are doing well wub.gif Can't believe how fast the time is going and that our little man is 4months old now ohmy.gif We are still getting lots of smiles and laughs which I'm loving wub.gif He is now rolling over (both ways) like a pro... the first time he did this we both cheered and he looked up as if to say "whats all the fuss about?"

Hihi, I'm still here, I guess just really quiet. Master L is doing great, he is so fantastic. He will be 4 months in 1 week and if feels like the time has really sped past.

We don't have any rolling here, he is just too happy to stay put, although we have heaps of giggles and full belly laughs and heaps of talking. I am finding this so nice as our first was the opposite and was determined to roll and move etc.

L has been sleeping through the night since Christmas night which again is so fantastic as our first was not and still isn't at least 3 times a week.

I guess we will be off for our 4 month needles in the next few weeks, I have to remember to make that appointment.

Another thing is L is a pretty big bub, he seems to be really long in the torso so I've already moved him to size 0 and they seem to be fitting him quite well.

thats about it really, we are doing well and enjoying our boys

Hi all! I'm never quiet, but I have so much to say that I'm rarely online long enough to say it all, and therefore don't unsure.gif biggrin.gif I should just post more often and shorter tongue.gif

Lee Lee - Eddie is another 'long-torsoed' baby biggrin.gif We're in 00 and 0 clothes, all for that shoulder-crotch length, and he's already in some 6-9 month ones as well!

He's going great guns - rolled a heap over a month ago and then forgot - tries hard but gets very frustrated and shouts a lot biggrin.gif He's kicking like crazy, and LOVES standing up and boogieing with his chubby (or 'sturdy') little legs biggrin.gif

he's very chatty - tells us about everything and anything, and has developed an earsplitting excited squeal wacko.gif which he is using a lot recently blink.gif wacko.gif

We were away for over a week last week on the Sting tour, which was completely awesome in every way! It was odd travelling with baby though - once he was asleep in the hotel room we couldn't go anywhere or do anything, so would end up in bed in our jimjams watching silent tennis on TV or reading at 8.30pm biggrin.gif That's not what one ought to do on orchestra tours biggrin.gif and it would be funny getting on the bus/plane the next day with people who had dragged their sozzled bodies to bed at 4am biggrin.gif

Eddie coped really well with the travel and time differences - got very very tired of course when he was up for a few hours, and passed out on me (face-down, I'm surprised he could breath) on all the flights. He was a big flirt though, and grinned broadly at everyone from security guards to Sting to the airline pilots biggrin.gif I think he's going to get a bit spoilt by attention because of his hair wacko.gif I don't know if there's anything to do about that, but he'll be so used to people coming up and oohing and ahhing biggrin.gif

Anyway, with that trip under our belts, we're now about to go and book flights for a trip to the UK in May ohmy.gif for our best friends' and flatmates of 5 years' wedding!! We must be crazy wacko.gif but we'd love to go and I think he'll cope, somehow!

Anyway, off to find food (crazed hungry cycling/BF hunger biggrin.gif)

I hope everyone is well, and I'm going to make a belated NY resolution to post here more often smile.gif
