I get mine fortnightly because I need it! However around April-May each year, I get it set to $0 and struggle for a few months so there's a buffer incase I have a debt to the FAO.

While I'm not working I need mine fortnightly too, as my pension is the same amount as my rent.

But, once I return to full time work next year, so for the 11/12 financial year would be the first time I receive it annually if thats what I do.

A couple of other questions...

if I start out getting it annually, but 6 months in need to change it to fortnightly, can I do that? Does anyone know?

Yep, you can change the way you receive your payments. A friend of mine did this fairly recently actually, changed from annual to getting them fortnightly as circumstances changed and she needed that extra money a fortnight.

Yup you can change it to getting all or even just some when you like. And then stop it again if needed.
