Has anyone stayed at the Piermont Resort on the Freycinet coast in Tasmania? I was thinking of booking it for part of my honeymoon accomodation because the pictures looked so nice but I've come across some mixed reviews ... some very bad.

I haven't personally but my friend attended a wedding their about 18 months ago and stayed there afterwards. I don't remember what she said exactly about it, but she certainly wasn't complaining.

Hubby and I stayed there for our honeymoon and ended up checking out early and heading to the Freycinet Lodge to stay (sooooooooooooo much nicer!!)

I found the staff at Piermont hopeless and rude (the lady that checked us in was very rude as we arrived just as she had finished painting her nails and didn't want to smudge them by getting the keys ready etc for us).

It is a fair way away from the local shops etc (if you feel like something special to eat etc you have to jump in the car and drive, which also means if you want to go for a nice meal somewhere, one of you can only have a glass or two to drink so that you don't go over the limit).

I highly recommend Freycinet Lodge though. Might be a little bit more $$, but soooo worth it. The staff were so lovely, the room was gorgeous, great meals, lots of things (close by) to do. The bistro/cafe place did takeaways to your room and so did the bar!! (They made some fantastic cocktails!!)

We enjoyed our honeymoon so much more when we were at the Freycinet lodge. I would love to go back and stay there again.

Would never ever go back to Piermont (and would suggest that you don't go either), as it isn't a very happy place for honeymooning!

PM me if you have any questions!

We also stayed at Freycinet Lodge as part of our honeymoon and it was pure heaven! Our little cabin sat right on the waters edge, it was set in the most amazing surroundings. The food was soooo good and I remember some pretty awesome cocktails too laugh.gif ph34r.gif

If you can get your hands on an entertainment book you can get it half price, we booked our whole honeymoon this way, well worth the $60 for the book.

Enjoy!

I have Tasmanian entertainment books for sale! They are $55 and $11 from the sale goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Tasmania. Let me know if you want one! smile.gif

Just so you know you don't actually need a Tasmania one, there is accommodation for all of Australia in the back of all of them, but AG is selling her for a good cause smile.gif

I ordered a Tasmania Entertainment Book online just a few hours before your post AG! sad.gif
I ended up ordering it from the Royal Institute for Blind and Deaf Children.
Thought it was good value because I'm planning on dinner at Mures, Home Hill and Peppermint bay and they are all in the EB, plus the discounts on entry into the caves and wildlife parks.
