Me too! Especially since she's been suspiciously quiet! I hope it means she's off having bubs.

I am so excited not to be pregnant anymore, i am sleeping so much better! Bronte is giving me a 6hr stretch at night so far which has been great... Not sure it will last though wink.gif

Oooh - I don't know if I'm clever enough to keep up with two different threads! laugh.gif

Welcome Penny and Kisma - so excited that Jacqueline has some friends. wub.gif

She has been good. After our first unsettled night on Thursday night, my little girl was little miss text book last night, waking up 4 hours to the minute from her last feed. I'm trying to teach her night vs day, so we fed in the nursery, with the lights off, only a light on in the loungeroom which gave me enough light in her room to see (I'm also not yet clever enough to attach her in the dark).

We've been having some lovely skin to skin snuggles in the mornings though - which are probably against every single SIDS guideline, but its so lovely wub.gif

Glad to hear Bronte is feeding like a champion. I don't think you know what thirst is until you're breastfeeding!

Its probably a bit premature for this question, but what are your plans in terms of a routine (if at all)?
I'm trying to be totally baby led for the first few (maybe even 6 - 8) weeks, and writing everything down to see if a pattern develops.

haha yes I hear you on the thirst!

Sounds like you are doing great GW with the recovery, so glad.

Two threads is hard isnt it laugh.gif but I dont want to frustrate the poor girls waiting, those last few weeks can be such torture!

How good is the skin to skin cuddles wub.gif

Bronte sleeps against the huge floor to ceiling window in our bedroom during the day, i am a big fan of making day and night as obvious as possible...

As for routine, we are planning the same as Elka as it worked so well for us (sleeping through by 9 weeks old, we can only hope to get a repeat tongue.gif) which was roughlly baby led until 6 weeks and then we followed tizzy hall save our sleep. But we also taught self settling in cot right from beginning, so no rocking or holding to sleep etc. Of course evryone and every bub are different so we will we see smile.gif Poor Bronte has to deal with alot of construction noise so that could make things tricky..

You sound so happy to be home - and with views like that - who wouldn't be! Sleeping through from 9 weeks sounds awesome - I hope you get a repeat with Bronte.

I have been cuddling to sleep, but putting down in the cot half asleep and having her do the rest.

We survived our first outing yesterday! OK, it was to my SIL's place for lunch and she's all of about 4 suburbs away. Jacqueline was very well behaved, slept soundly, waking for a feed just after I'd finished my lunch, and then had a bit of awake time while the family had some cuddles, then back to sleep. Then later that evening (once J and mummy had an arvo nap) she had a bath and refused to sleep for nearly 4 hours!

She's currently asleep in her bassinet, with the blinds open in our room, so its nice and bright. I'm trying to leave the TV on for some background noise, but given I hardly ever watch daytime TV, I'm getting a bit annoyed at the crap that is on! I should just leave it on Fox Sports News - she should be used to that sound with the amount DH watches!

How exciting we'll have another bubba joining our group today!

ETA: Penny just as I posted I saw your new signature picture - gorgeous wub.gif

Aww thanks GW, I adore that pic of Elka and Bronte wub.gif

That is so awesome that your first outing went so well! Not so great on the 4 hrs awake later though laugh.gif
I hear you on hating daytime tv - its so brain dead... although now I get Wiggles instead UURRGGGHH rolleyes.gif

We had our first poo-splosion this morning - through a nappy, suit and wrap... Had a pretty good night - 4hrly feeds, I can handle that smile.gif AND I got to sleep on my tummy, bliss tongue.gif
Having some bad engorgement though, ouch, although hubby loves the huge boobs, not that he is allowed anywhere near them!

How is your supply settling down GW?

Am loving having Jase home - its so nice. I can't remember the last time he had 4 weeks off! He took Elka to the park and the shops all morning, she loved it!

Must get back to writing my birth story. Kisma and GW - dying to hear yours!

xoxo

Congratulations Kylie! So glad to hear you and Oliver are doing well - I can't wait to see photos. Love the name too!

No supply issues touch wood. I'm a bloody jersey cow! No one told me they drip at inconvenient times! I can so tell when she's due for a feed. I think my boobs wake me up before she does!

But oh, its bliss sleeping on your tummy again, and being able to roll over in bed without having to do effectively a 3 point turn laugh.gif . DH isn't a boob man, so he's agreed to a reduction if they stay this big after we've finished our family!

laugh.gif at poo-splosion. We haven't had one of them... yet...

A whole month off for your DH sounds fabulous - and I love that Bronte waited until his extra duties at work were over before she arrived!

Birth story is still in my head. laugh.gif goals for this week are:
1. bake cake for arvo tea with friends tomorrow
2. write birth story
3. put some photos on facebook that I promised to do last week.
4. brave some pre-preg clothes, to see how badly they don't do up laugh.gif

I think thats enough for one week.

We have outing number 2 tonight. Dinner at the inlaws for a family b'day. I told MIL about last night, and said we might not make it if J is unsettled. MIL was awesome and said "all babies cry" and that I was doing really well to only have one unsettled period a day. She also said she's fine if J is unsettled at her place, and that she'd happily take her for a bit. Its so reassuring hearing that from someone who's done it before - when I've still got no idea what I'm doing!

So how is your list going GW? smile.gif Dying to hear your birth story!

I am finally getting around to putting some pics on facebook at the moment... took Elka and Bronte to Library storytime this morning which went reasonably well (except for Elka pulling down her pants in the middle of the group storytime and running away with her pants around her ankle laugh.gif blush.gif cringe)

Kisma and Kylie - come join us!

Bronte is doing well - she has been very kind and feeds 3 hourly during the day, then cluster feeds from 6pm to 7.30pmish, then 4hrly overnight, so I am not too tired.. although dragging myself out of bed at 7am for Elka is getting tougher laugh.gif

Other than that just feeling blissful with my girls and having Jase home wub.gif

Off to a 2nd bday party in a park tomorrow and hping its not as cold as it was today, brrr! Thank god for the baby sling to keep Bronte snuggly!
xoxo

laugh.gif laugh.gif at Elka (sorry!). Have a lovely time at the second birthday party - I hope the weather is nice for you.

Damnit - I knew if I wrote a list someone would keep me accountable laugh.gif
Here is how I went:
1. bake cake for arvo tea with friends tomorrow
Baked - but is ridiculously healthy (and therefore not tasty - friends ended up bringing over food, so it didn't get touched).

2. write birth story
not yet started

3. put some photos on facebook that I promised to do last week.
done!

4. brave some pre-preg clothes, to see how badly they don't do up
still not brave enough - maybe tomorrow ph34r.gif

I did however get fitted for mat bra's now that my milk has come in, incase my size changed, and finished off the forms for J's birth certificate and the centrelink/medicare form. They ask some hard questions wacko.gif

J seems to feed mostly 4 hourly, but last night did two 5 hour stretches in a row! it was awesome, except she slept until 9am and we had people coming over at 10:30 - I was worried that I'd still be in my PJ's if she didn't settle - thankfully she did.

She has random periods of not wanting to sleep (and not looking tired) and cluster feeding, but they are completely at random. I get a bit worried about her being awake for so long (last one was 3.5 hours in one go) but I figure if she's not upset or showing tired signs, she must be OK. First hint of a yawn and I put her to sleep (ok - well try to put her to sleep, sometimes I'm not successful).

We did take some photos during her last big daytime awake session (yesterday) - here is one of them!

IPB Image

Looking forward to hearing the details of Babu's new arrival - and hearing from the other new mummies!

Thanks wub.gif

In the yoga classes I did the instructor said that one way to bring on labour was to hang around a newborn. In hindsight I should be bombarding the other thread with photos of her! laugh.gif
