Hi I am looking for any information on weddings in Cape Tribulation. I have roughly 60 guests and was looking to accommodate them from budget up to nicer rooms, walk into the rainforest - get married and then walk down to the beach for a reception under the stars.

Has anyone had a beach reception on any of Cape Trib / Daintree beaches? Was there enough shoreline i.e. even in high tide? Is there anywhere were you can walk into the rainforest and then down to the beach?

I was hoping for a one stop shop as most guests will be traveling up.

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas...

We were up there last october scouting wedding venues in Port Douglas. Cape Trib is great, nice and relaxing, but there is not much up there! You would probably have to look at having your reception in one of the resorts.

Not too sure, but most of the beaches we went to have HUGE signs stating that crocodiles inhabit the beaches, so not too sure how that would go with being on the beach at night?

There is a lady on another forum that deals a lot with port douglas weddings and nth qld, if you want the details PM me. She might be able to help smile.gif

If you have your heart set on Cape Tribulation I would have it here - they have a restaurant, a range of accommodation for different budgets - tide wise from memory (we went to Cape Trib every Sept holidays growing up) there is usually plenty of beach but if you check out the tides you will be able to set ceremony time for low/mid tide.

I would ring the resort and talk to them - something to consider is that your guests will presumably fly into Cairns and then have to travel up to Cape Tribulation - the northern beaches of Cairns have some beautiful resorts on gorgeous beaches which may be a bit more accessible for guests that travel - you could stay at Cape Trib for your honeymoon.

Oh and I have never seen a crocodile on Cape Trib beach - they tend to hang out by the river mouths rather than cruise around on the beach.
