Very exciting. I think you are one of our next due...how are you feeling?
Mum of three. Some I get to hold in my arms...all I get to hold in my heart.

If your parent dies, you are an orphan. If your spouse dies, you are a widow.
But if your baby dies... there is no word for that.

I am here! I haven't changed my ticker yet though lol.

We came home from hospital today and it is SO nice to be home again smile.gif hubby has been fantastic, he is settling her and keeping an eye on her between feeds so I can rest. He is even burping her during her feeds so I don't have to change position :-)

since my milk came in this afternoon she has been having 2 hourly feeds which is a bit tiring but we are coping.

Had some issues at hospital with my blood pressure spiking at 144/102 and had to be tested for pre-eclampsia. It was borderline whether they were going to let me home today due to a few bad readings sad.gif I am going to keep an eye on it at home as well, my MIL has a portable BP machine which she is bringing over tomorrow.

My feet and ankles have been massively swollen too which hasn't helped the situation, so I currently have them resting on the back of the lounge to bring the swelling down.

That's probably about it for me at the moment... The bar is about to open for the next shift, so will be back later.

I cant believe so many of us have popped in the last week!!!!!

I'm here too!

Master D is currently asleep and I am sitting here with a cloth nappy on my MASSIVELY ENGORGED BOOBIES soaking up the milk that is just running out.

Cannot wait for the feeling to pass...anyone else struggling with this?

Feeding has been going every 2 hours...but seems to have spread out to around 3 hours or so now, which is not helping the milk bar situation.

Took a "birds eye photo" today of Master D on the boob...my boob is nearly double the size of his head........ouch!

Oh and I am another one with swollen feet. The midwife just said to keep them up as often as possible and it should pass in 48hours.

Is everyone looking forward to their first Mothers Day tomorow?

Im here too! (and Mrs W - still in synch - I too am sitting topless with boobs dripping into a cloth nappy!) tongue.gif

We have had a great first week (I know, I know, be careful not to brag about things going well as Im well aware it can turn in a heartbeat). He's been just feeding and sleeping like a champ.

I've been a little naughty though, Im co sleeping with him which I never thought I'd do. It started in the hospital when he was fussing slightly I popped him next to me and he crashed... now he just loves being by my side in bed and I love having him there. I've read a book on it all and the safety aspect so I feel confident. Straight after a feed he is settled beside me. His daytime sleeps he is on his own (unless Im tired too) but Im just finding its working for us and Im getting good quality sleep blocks every 3-4 hours so its great.

I don't really think you can spoil them enough in these early days..... can you? Hopefully Im not setting myself up for a fall in weeks to come.

This motherhood gig is so mucb better than I expected. I am just so in love with him and hubby wub.gif wub.gif

Just popping in here while I have 20 mins before I need to wake up Tabitha for her next feed.

She is going well, we are trying to feed her every 3 hours and get some sunlight into her to get rid of the jaundice. She was tested in hospital but didn't need the UV lights, so we are just managing it at home.

I am coping much better at home, hubby is doing a massive amount of the work, he is even getting up with me to do the feeds as he burps her for me every 15 mins or so then changes her nappy and wraps her again smile.gif then we both go back to bed. We got 6 hours sleep last night and 7 hours the night before, so hopefully this keeps up!!!!

We have been inundated with visitors since we came home so I am quite looking forward to a quiet week this week. DH is going back to work tomorrow but only for half days, probably 10-2pm for two weeks to help get into a routine and help me at home so it's not such a culture shock.

My ankles are still really swollen but I haven't had much time to rest with my feet elevated because of the visitors. Hopefully I will be able to get rid of then this week.

My boobs are engorged, but I've found a supportive tank top does wonders for this. I have two of the lovable feeding tanks and I can't recommend them enough. The target ones do nothing for support so I only wear them to bed. I think I might go and get two more of the lovable ones this week they are so comfy and supportive.

Ok well it's time to go and wake up Miss T for her next feed, hope everyone is doing well and has had a fantastic mother 's day!!!!

Well ladies I thought I would update you all now at the 3 week mark.
I am more tired than I could ever have imagined. This parenting gig is seriously seriously hard work, and honestly I thought I was prepared but I have not been. I guess given all that went on with me prior to giving birth and his birth added to me be...ing drained, but also the chaos that ensued from my mum passing away, has all added up to allow me little time to rest. Plus the daily visitors have truthfully been driving me up the wall.
I know that people mean well, but when each day goes by and the phone rings and I have so many people wanting to book in time to come and visit I am at the point where I want to scream and say NOOOOO!!! Arrrrggghhhhh.
Tomorrow thankfully I have a visitor free day which I am so looking forward to.
Declan has been sleeping and feeding at between 3 and 4 hour cycles. He seems to not know if he wants 3 or 4 hour feeds and OMG his appitite is all over the place. Sometimes he only takes 100ml and then will take 150ml in the next feed. Thankfully he seems to be thriving.

I am having a respite break next week. I am moving in with the in-laws for a few days to a week. My MIL has kindly offered to do all the night feeds for the time I am there to allow me to finally sleep for more than 2-3 hours at a time. I am sooo looking forward to a good nights sleep.

I love the little bugger so strongly at times I actually have sat there and cried while holding him as my heart just feels overfilled with emotion, but the truthfully at times I have sat there and wondered... OMG what on earth was I thinking? I think that this parenting thing will be both the best of times and the worst of times and wow what a journey so far. I hope you girls are having a wonderful time being mummies and I look forward to sharing our journeys together over the years.

I just wanted to pop in and say congratulations to the May 2010 mummies wub.gif My darling little girl was born in May 2009.

Also, I couldn't post and not comment on your post Leapstar. Obviously I don't know you and what you are going through but I want you to know your feelings about parenthood are really natural and I had really similar feelings (though in the early days I had less of the wow I love you so much and more of the OMG what on earth have I done). It took me absolutely ages to get into the swing of things and feel ok about it all. I read heaps before Amelia was born but absolutely nothing prepares you for the reality of looking after a baby. I hope you get some good rest with your MIL's help (what a lovely lady!)

Good luck to you all smile.gif

Hi girls,

How is everyone going? Do we have almost everyone with a bub on the outside now?
