Hi Everyone

We have abit of a dilemna. Brandon will start Kindergarton next year but neither hubby or will be able to get him there or pick him up due to work commitments so will need to look into before/after school care or similar.

How does it all work and what is everyone else doing? Does the person doing the before or after school actually take them there and pick them up and then we go collect him from them when we get home from work?

Do child care centres/family day care etc do this as well? I am clueless and not sure where to start making enquiries.

Some schools actually ahve before and after school care, or it might be located at a nearby school, and the kids get taken there from their school. Ask at his school what the arrangements are.

I have no idea what we will do when Audrey starts.

You can organise it yourself with a before/after school nanny who takes him to school and picks him up and looks after him until you get home. The f!ind@b@bysitter website allows you to search for before & after school carers.

Or the school may have a before & after school care program so you just drop him off early and pick him up late.

I'd give the school a call in case places are limited.

We have a day care center next door to our school, the kids can do before and after school care till they are 12. I know some day care centers do drop offs to school. The school might have a before and after school programme.

What we do is Bec drops her kids at my place at 7, I feed them and drop them at school at 8.15. She then does the school pick up (from the daycare center next door to school, they send down a teacher to take the kids up to the daycare center.) And I work till 5. She then drops S at my place (to her daddy) on her way past.
