I'd love to hear from people that have been to the Maldives. We are thinking of going here for our honeymoon but aren't sure if it will fit into our budget.

Can you give me a rough estimate of how much it cost you including flights, accomodation meals, spending money etc?

Also where did you stay and what things did you do while you were there?

I went to the Maldive back in Sept for my honeymooon and it was A M A Z I N G!!

We went for 9 days and it cost us about $10k. That included flights, accommodation in a over the water hut, all food and drinks, including alcohol. It also included all water sports and night fishing excursion and a trip to the house reef for snorkelling.

There are soooooo many different resorts at the Maldives so it was hard to choose (although some were easy to say no...$12k per person..umm maybe next time! hehe). We ended up staying at Meeru Island Resort. The resort is really nice, I can not fault it. The accommodation is amazing and the people are really really friendly.

As for spending money...well because you have paid for everything (all inclusive) you really don't need to have much spending money. The only thing we spent money on was pitch n putt and some souvenirs!

If yoou are looking for a honeymoon where you are doing stuff every day, don't go here cause there isn't all that much to do. Which is exactly what we wanted. But we went on the excursion to the reef, we played pitch n putt, we kayaked around the island, snorkelled off our over water hut and just relaxed the rest of the time.

I think if you can go, go for it, you won't regret it!! It's one of those places that should be on your "must visit" list.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask!! smile.gif
