Ems- I can't believe Ashton is 4 wks already! wub.gif It is so nice to see that the boys are doing well together smile.gif

As for me, feeling a little under the weather today. I smashed the car mirror yesterday which mean, in addition to the car air con which shat itself, we need to get another thing fixed dry.gif Normally I don't care if i bump my car, it is just difficult because I know that the mirror needs to be fixed for rego and we only have the one car, plus hubby is working wacko.gif Such a freeking nightmare. In addition to that Kaili still hasn't settled from her regular unsettled periods, she still has hours on end at nights where nothing will console her sleep.gif The best thing is though that she slept for 5 hours straight last night. But I have noticed that with her longer sleeps comes longer awake periods/short sleeps straight after.
Apart from that I am excited because mum will be coming up very soon, arriving at 1 am on Friday morning! biggrin.gif It will be so nice having her around to help out with little miss wub.gif
I hope everyone else and their little bubs are doing well!

Hello ladies and babies wub.gif
I hope you are all doing well and that your little darlings are behaving.
We all have our babies in our arms tonight wub.gif

Jaycee, thanks for the heads up on Hotmilk- my boobs have gotten HUGE and the 16DDs from BigW are BARELY containing the girls laugh.gif I will have a look at hotmilk, and hopefully get something nice for myself.

i need new bras as well - alas hot milk does not come in super cuddly sizes ROFL - i'm pushing out of the DD's atm, crazy i tell you - i actually had to buy a pump today after laying in bed last night on my back and having the perky breasts of a teenager laugh.gif

laugh.gif I hear you on the milk dispensers girls laugh.gif
I turned to hotmilk to contain my 16F go-go-gadget-boobs so hopefully we can all find something to cotain our girls happy.gif And sorry for asking sam (you don't have to answer) but how big is super cuddly? You must dread trying to find something to contain your girls. I had trouble finding something until i discovered that HOTMilk make up to a 20G which i thought was impressive, it's hard enough to find DD cups let alone G cups! blink.gif

hun i'm not backward in coming forward in my cuddliness - i'm hanging out around a 22E atm - it's insane - and i'm hesitant to get new ones as despite the fact i'm chowing through food faster than i did when pregnant the weight continues to fall off - i blame chasing 4 kids (ok i chase 3, the 4th just sits around all day laugh.gif) - i did find that triumph are just divine for me but i've been slack in getting into BNT to have them ordered in laugh.gif

i can't believe most of our babies are creeping towards a mth wub.gif James has an URTI (upper respiratory tract infection) which is just great fun (pls note the insane amts of sarcasm) - he's still good in the early evening which helps as i've taken over doing everything at night now so i can work out what works/doesn't work before adrian goes back to work in a few weeks but he's doing some serious head bobbing in the chair next to me atm so i think he'll be in bed with me tonight as opposed to the bassinette.

afm - crazy note that i've never had before - i have this insane pain in the lower left atm, i think it's because my abs are separated (who knew i had abdominal muscles to start with laugh.gif) but just going to keep an eye on it, that and i think all the internal organs are still finding their homes again - see how it pans out, just odd as i've never had this happen before and i've had separation each time.

on the upside - he's still gained weight this week laugh.gif 4.03kg - up 210g in the last week smile.gif

HSC - don't worry about the unsettled periods, they all have them at various times of the day (james is a delightful 1/2am laugh.gif) and the crying is building to it's peak around 6w - she doesn't have acid smelling breath/throwing up/arching her back at all though does she?

ems - great to hear the boys are going well together wub.gif

all our babies are here wub.gif

Hi girls, finally resurfacing laugh.gif

So glad we all have our babies now smile.gif I cant believe some of the little ones are 1 month old already!!!

How is everyone going?

HSC - yay for your mum visiting, and Im sorry about the car sad.gif If it makes you feel better, our dishwasher packed it in on our first day out of hospital.. great timing! Better it than the washing machine but will still cost $$ to fix. Hope Kaili is being kind to you - our unsettled period keeps moving? It makes it so confusing!

Sam- poor little James with his infection sad.gif Hope it clears up ASAP and I hope the pain you have has also disappeared by now.

Well the little one is one week old today wub.gif I dont think we're doing too badly! Still sorting out the whole feeding thing and unsettled periods but all in all we're ok at the moment. Having our first daddy free time today (sent him to play sport) for a couple of hours and we're coping so far laugh.gif

Thats the main reason Ive been offline - having hubby home. I havent had this much of him to myself consecutively since our trip to Europe in 2008, so when I'm not doing baby related things Im lapping up our time together.. 2 more weeks and then I lose him to the real world again LOL.

Hope everyone is well xoxo

Hi Girls

Hope everyone is well....

Things are going good for us at the moment. We are feeding Amelia every 4 hours. We are even waking her.. Had a few comments about that from family.. But she was a jaundice when we were in hospital so the midwived told us not to go 4 hours without a feed. I will readress feeding times/ and when to start demand feeding when i speak to my midwife early next week.

Amelia also has her hips/legs in a brace at the moment as she has dislocated and clicky hips. We are not sure if this was the reason she was breech or not, but they found it early so it looks as though she will have it on for a max of 12 weeks...
We also have appts with the heart specialist to check her VSD in the heart...
So between physio appt, pead appts, heart specialist appts and orthopeadic appt, everything seems to be going well..

The only thing that i am finding hard at the moment is the breastfeeding.
She can spend up to 1.5 hrs on the boob sometimes. So not sure if she is a slow sucker or what?? I had been expressing some milk and she seems to take only around 30mins to drink 100mls of breastmilk, but will take nearly twice, sometimes 2 times as long to suck of the breast...

How is everyone else going with breastfeeding??

Still feeling a bit sore from my c-sec, but taking a lot of nurofen and panadol which makes the pain a lot better.. I just have to rest, although i have managed to strain myself sometimes.. DH has been really great with things around the house. I have been sleeping from 7am to 9-9.30am after her 6am feed and he has been coming in with breakfast in bed some mornings smile.gif He only has 1 week left of holidays.. I am really not looking forward to when he has to go back, but my mum will be here when he goes back, so at least i will have some support while i keep recovering.

Ne way i best go.. will try and help DH with dinner.. (for the 2nd time this week he is cooking a roast smile.gif )

Hey girls!

Just a quick one from me.

I'm doing pretty well. Very tired, but feel like the luckiest woman alive.

Heidi is amazing. Just wants to feed constantly, which is proving a little painful, but I'm finding I can cope with it much better than with Jeremy, so hopefully things turn out better there.

As you know, I didn't get my VBAC, but I got my chance to try and I went into labour by myself, which at the end of the day, was what I really wanted. She was getting distressed, and needed a little bit of oxygen when she came out, so I know we made the right call at the right time smile.gif

My family is complete, and I couldn't be happier wub.gif

I'll come back and post more when I get home, which should probably be Tuesday.

if only we had a guage on our boobs hey?

if she settles well after feeding, eyes aren't glassy, wet/poo is working (bf babies can go 10-14+ days without a poo), not screaming constantly she's getting enough hun smile.gif it's hard though isn't it? with the bottle they don't work as hard so seem to fed quicker but it does get faster as they get older and stronger in their sucking reflex.

i'm feeding 2hrly atm thanks to the stupid flu thing - cause he's so blocked up he can't get a decent suction going,so i'm dreading when he's better and i have hyper supply going on from this and he goes back to 3-4hrly again laugh.gif

if you're worried about supply there's a great pinned thread in the bfing section smile.gif

Hi everyone,

Brad went back to work yesterday and the kids were mostly good, until it got to witching hours (between about 4 and 6:30) but that is usual in this house anyway.
I was a bit emotional though because I like to keep on top of the housework and I had about 3 days of washing to fold up which I had to leave because the day just flew, luckily I was in a better mood today and it is all done biggrin.gif I wish I wasn't such a perfectionist. The worst part about the washing is that it will all be back in another day or 2. Normally I do it as it is dry but having Hayden around I find I run out of time, I am sure it will just take a while to get our routine sorted.

Elyse, you are doing an amazing job. Breastfeeding can be a hard job and for you to be persevering for 1.5 hours is a super effort. If you are worried about the time she takes to feed talk to your child health nurse or the lactation lady at your hospital (if they have one) Enjoy the time you have left with your husband before he goes back to work, it is funny how I wanted Brad to go back to work (so I could sort out my routine and not have an extra to look after laugh.gif ) but I miss him now.
I am breastfeeding, Hayden is going really well with it, I am lucky there.

blush.gif My breasts have not gone up a single cup size, I am still only a 12B, I guess I am lucky that I can buy any bra that I like.

I am glad that everyone is doing well with their new ones.

Have to go, I will try and get back in later in the week

Cheryl

Cheryl~ I am jealous of the lack of change to your breast size laugh.gif .. I am huge, bulging out of my 16H Cups. I though they would start to settle in size but NOPE....I just hope they stop growing soon laugh.gif

Well as for us!! Where do I start.

Jessie is such a different baby to Kaity, in fact she is so quiet and sleepy I often worry that something isn't right with her. Though the CHN just assures me she is a content baby. She isn't awake a lot, only to feed and maybe 2 hours tops on top of feed times.

Breast feeding is going well for us, which is just amazing considering the trouble I had with our first little princess. Jessie tends to feed 3hly on the dot, but last night that changed to 2hrly. But I think that has a lot to do with the fact I am on antibiotics for an infection in my c/s scar.

I am feeling a little run down, but I think it has a lot to do with the infection, and being anemic. Hoping to get to the GP to check my levels later in the week, as all the supplements and increased high iron foods seem to be doing little for my colour.

Hope everyone else is going well

Just a quick one from me. Sorry for lack of personals.

I've finally got a bit of time to myself, without the dire need for sleep.

We're home, have been since Monday arvo when I decided I was done with the hospital, and just wanted to be at home.

We had a horror start to the evening, where she just wanted to feed constantly and I was feeling so run down from lack of sleep. I had a slight melt-down and sent hubby out to get bottles and formula and dummies. All of which she bluntly rejected laugh.gif

So she's a boobie-monster. We've finally worked on extending the feeds out to approx 3 hourly... I don't know how much longer I could have coped with the hourly (or less) feeds.

Attachment isn't the best unfortunately, but she seems to be getting enough, and my nipples aren't faring TOO badly. Bit stingy at times, but we'll get there. I saw the Lactation Consultant at the hospital, and I *know* what we need to do in theory, but Heidi just doesn't like to co-operate (as we all know, she's not the most co-operative little girl laugh.gif ).

Hubby and my mum have been a great help. Mum was around yesterday cleaning up for me and doing my washing wub.gif

Jeremy is going pretty well being a big brother. He's not keen on her crying at all, and doesn't know the meaning of the word "quiet" rolleyes.gif so Miss Heidi will just have to get used to a noisy big brother.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well. I hope to be able to pop in a bit more often to keep up with everything.

Sam & Cheryl (are there any others with more than 2? unsure.gif ) - I have to take my hat off to you! I don't know how you do it! blink.gif tongue.gif

Yay! It is so nice to see us all in here reporting about our bubs!
Bridget- Congrats! I am glad to see you had a chance at going into labour on your own! At the end of the day Heidi came out safely! laugh.gif at Jeremy and the crying, the poor thing probably didn't have any idea! I hope extending the feeds is working for you. As for the nipples while in hospy I had this stuff called Lanisoh (?) which is great as you don't need to take it off before a feed and it helped me heaps biggrin.gif
Frog- I hope those antibiotics start working for you soon! Also pleased to hear Jessie is such a content little one biggrin.gif
Cheryl- You are right about the bra size, I even have trouble finding a bra for myself atm, which is 16dd-e depending on the fit. I hope today was a good day for you!
Sam - Poor James sad.gif I hope the infection clears up quick smart! I love your new sig btw, they are all such gorgeous babies! Kaili' only throw-ups are usually straight after, or only a little while after, her feeds and it is all pretty much unprocessed milk and spit, I think she gets a little too much sometimes, or it gets stuck on a air pocket. The unsettled periods are now involving a little less crying which is great, and we are learning to deal with them a lot more efficiently which is even better biggrin.gif
Elyse- I agree with you about the feeding, probably one of the hardest parts too. As Sam said, I wish our boobs came with a gauge to tell us how much our bubs were getting! I considered doing the EBM thing as well as Kaili's feeding has changed over the past couple of days and I am concerned, but as she doesnt want to be fed too often, has plenty of wets, and seems pretty content I am happy. But I am dropping by the child health clinic tomorrow to get her weighed just in case biggrin.gif Hope Amelia is doing well!
Sass- Yay on Tamsyn bein a week old wub.gif and enjoy your time at home with hubby! I am still miffed that Zane's time at home got cut short, but that is life I suppose dry.gif Kaili's unsettled period does keep moving, but we know it is 4 hours and we know it is sometime between 8 pm and 2 am laugh.gif Just like my contractions, she is content to be irregular biggrin.gif

AFM- Kaili is changing so quickly! She is so alert and is taking in everything around her! She loves looking at our faces and our lips moving and will turn in the direction of our voices wub.gif She has a new type of cry, and a new feeding style! She will now only stay on the boob for 5 minutes at a time, a lady from the ABA called it switch feeding- which basically means that once the milk from one let-down reflex is over she can't be bothered sucking until the next and wants to do on the other boob while waiting for the first to refill laugh.gif When she is older she will be living off microwave meals with that attitude tongue.gif It is confusing, but I think she is getting enough milk as she seems content enough. For the unsettled periods mum observed her (she was a mothercraft nurse years and years ago, and is a natural baby person) and said it was gas, so we got some of the Infants Friend drops yesterday and tried them on her last night and they seemed to make her much more settled- she was just awake for four hours last night as opposed to awake and screaming.
Anyway, I'd better shove off for the moment and tend to the little one. I will be back asap for more of an update...
Sorry if I missed anyone
Hope all mums, dads, siblings and bubs are going well!
