We married in April and honeymooned in Fiji in September.

We had a lot of overseas guests join us for our wedding so felt we couldn't just leave when they'd travelled that far to be with us.

It did feel like a honeymoon for us, until my father passed away, suddenly, back in NZ. sad.gif

we left the Tuesday after our wedding cause Flights were cheaper wink.gif

We did this too, but mostly cos I wanted a couple of days to take in our wedding and prepare for the honeymoon seperately.

Im the same as Pink Butterfly.
We got married on Saturday, stayed down at our location (an hour away) until today, Monday. Spending Monday night at home, and fly out Tuesday afternoon. We loved spending a bit of extra time down at our location, it drew the weekend out, and allowed us to take our time in unpacking, washing and re-packing smile.gif

We got married Saturday, flew out Monday morning.

And no, it wouldnt have felt like a honeymoon to me if we'd gone later on - the honeymoon was a great time for us to relax together after the wedding, so to delay it would have just felt like a holiday to me

We have put off our honeymoon for 3 1/2 years ph34r.gif

So we will be flying OS for around 35 days at the end of the year.

Im not sure what a honeymoon is suppose to feel like but it does feel exciting and it is our first real holiday adventure together, so Im going to answer yes smile.gif

Never giving up hope.

We were married on the Saturday and left for our honeymoon on the Monday. Early in the planning I had grand romantic ideas of packing for the wedding and the honeymoon at the same time, on the basis that we were leaving to be married and would immediately jet off to faraway places on a fabulous honeymoon. Practicality ended up having an impact, however, and I soon realised that we'd need to transport stuff (um, a wedding dress? suits?) home from the wedding night hotel before we could comfortably jet off on our holiday. We also needed a day to recover from the excitement smile.gif It worked out much better this way, we didn't feel rushed and we got to spend the next evening with friends and family talking about the events of the big day.
