If you put your honeymoon off until later did you still feel like your were on a 'honeymoon'??

I am a wedding addict.  Since 1998 I have published over 3000 articles on everything and anything to do with weddings.  I love weddings, I love writing about weddings, talking about weddings, going to weddings, planning weddings, discussing weddings, helping people plan weddings, talking to people planning weddings...yes as I said I am a wedding addict.

We put ours off until later and to be honest it didn't feel like a honeymoon. sad.gif

On top of that I think the whole time we were away we only had 2 days when we weren't catching up with friends and family - not the most romantic trip in the world (to say the least)

We planned to go six weeks after our wedding - so none of those options really work for me!

We got married on a Saturday and left on the Monday. Partly becuase the flights worked out better and partly so we had the Sunday to finish packing and sorting things out. We had an early morning flight so leaving the day after the wedding wouldn't have worked at all.

We put our honeymoon off until later because of mainly the fact we got married in a different state and we own our own business. We were invited to Fiji for a friends wedding and we used that as our "honeymoon". It did not really feel like a honeymoon but we still loved every minute of it and their wedding gave us an excuse to actually have a holiday smile.gif

We went to the Hunter Valley 2 days after the wedding just for 2 nights - we live in Sydney so this was just a short little trip because we were not going to be taking our proper honeymoon until much later.

We took our actual honeymoon for our 1st anniversary (for various reasons) and yes it still felt like a honeymoon - I mean to me a honeymoon is simply husband and wife going away to spend time together and celebrate their union, and that is exactly what we did - we LOVED it.

We went on our honeymoon 4 days before we got married - we arrived in Hawaii a few days prior to our destination wedding, but our family didn't arrive until the two days before, so we had some 'honeymoon' time before the wedding as well as after.

We were married on the Saturday, flew out Monday afternoon- again because flights were cheaper (by almost 40%!)

It was actually really good- gave us time to catch up with family members and get our stuff packed.

It felt like a honeymoon because we rented a car and stayed in a hotel...despite the fact our houses were fifteen minutes away! rolleyes.gif

We were married on the Saturday and flew out on the Wednesday as this was the only flight we could get.

It was good to have a couple of days to spend with family before we went.

We are going to be overseas for our wedding so the honeymoon pretty much carries on straight afterwards for us.. smile.gif
